Colorado Tech University Online Knowledge Base

I'm considering taking a MBA class through Colorado Tech University Online--any feedback on the program? I recently read where the Career Education Corp, the company that owns these online schools are having alot of turnover--the resignation of the CEO being one of them. As well as legal issues with acredidation and mail fraud. I was wondering if anyone is currently in the program or have graduated with successful job placement upon program completion. Thanks.

Colorado Tech Online? Colorado Tech Online offers a Bachelor degree programs that take about 30 months with no prior college credit. Its a Chea approved school so how does that differ from a four year university, if at all?
Do any of the state colleges or universities offer online tech degrees? I live in the middle of nowhere so attending courses at a local state college or university wouldn't be a good option. I'm looking to get a BS or BA in IT. I've looked into University of Phoenix as well as Colorado Technical University but I'm not convinced the for-profit schools are a good option...
Medical Billing Associates or Information Technology Associates? I am attending Colorado Tech University Online? I was trying to decide witch program would be most likely to get me a job. I live in a very small town so I dont know witch I could actully use. Any help would be great. Or would Associates of Science Business Administrator be better?
Does anyone know if these online schools accreditation's are recognized by Major Universities? I've been looking at a couple online schools such as Capella University, National American University and Colorado Tech Online. They all seem to be accredited by the same instutution, the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Institutions of Higher Learning. Is this commission one that major universities like UC Berkeley or UC Davis will recognize and take transfer units from? I would like to take online courses from these guys but if nobody will recognize the accreditation, its pretty useless. Univ. of Phoenix is really expensive so Im looking elsewhere. I all ready have to AA's from community college, I need to finish my BS now.
Why do these no-name, unrecognized colleges and universities so expensive with their tuition? Such as, Everest college University of Phoenix American InterContinental University The Art Institute Online Capella University Colorado Tech Online Kaplan University Online Learning through Everest College South University Walden University Ashford University Westwood College International Academy of Design and Technology Argosy University
What online school is the better one??? University of Phoenix AIU Online Colorado Tech Online... or if you know of some really good ones let me know! Thanks!

What is your opinion on Online College? I want to ask anyone who has applied at an online college: Did you enjoy it? Did you or anyone you know receive a degree? What are your true personal opinions on Colorado Tech University? Please give me some useful advice, for I am conducting my own research on the subject. Thanks B:)
Online Universities/Education? I've been looking at online universities and I've come across both Colorado Tech and University of Phoenix. Both have good and bad comments. I'm wondering if anyone has used either or if they'd recommend something different. I'd like to go for Business or Management.
CTU a real online school? Hi all, I've been trying to get into online school for some time and spent an hour talking to a counselor at Colorado Tech University. The man's name was Leonard Harrison [admissions advisor] and he showed me the website and how to apply [50$]. Really nice guy, and no pressure on how quickly how should apply, but that I could start in July when my FAFSA starts. Does anyone have an experience with THIS school [links attached]? http://www.ctuonline.edu/ http://www.ctuonline.edu/slideshow/
A question about online schools? Would DeVry University or Colorado Tech University be a better school? Thank you 8Track! It's for someone else, not me. I want to pick up my writing again. I'm tired of being tired from construction all the time. lol
I'm military overseas looking for a good web design/graphic design college that is online? I've been directed to colleges like University of Phoenix, DeVry, Colorado Tech, Full Sail, and all these that I read up to be "degree mills". Now I've tried looking and looking and everything turns out to be the same old bad school. Just looking for some help on this one.
Online college...for mba/marketing? I'm choosing a college for my mba right now. has to be online as I work full time and live in the Middle of Nowhere but I'd prefer a traditional university that offers online here is what I am thinking of: Florida Tech Colorado Tech Calif Lutheran Univ perhaps National Univ although it is not the traditional campus I was thinking of. have any of you attended classes or know of someone who attended classes here.. what in your opinion is the best option? just looking for other points of view.....
When it comes to online colleges/universities which are the best? Choose from the list and tell me any experience you may have or know. I'd also like to know how was the curriculum, professors, fin. aid, were you able to transfer to another university with ease, and were you able to find a position within your field of study. Thanks. Drexel University Post University University of Phoenix Strayer University Keiser University Everest University Grand Canyon University Kaplan University South University ITT Tech American Intercontinenatl University Capella University Lynn University Argosy University American Public University Bellevue University Ashford University Westwood College Colorado Technical University Devry University Florida National College Hodges University University of Maryland University College Walden University Virginia College Mountain State University St. Leo University South University Herzing University
University of Colorado - Boulder or Denver for Computer Science? I am looking to return to school after several years. I have a general associates from out of state, vocational training and years working in the real world. I am realizing that I need to go back to school and am looking into the tech field. I've looked online at UC Denver's Computer Science and Information Systems programs and it doesn't seem quite like what I'm looking for. The website for Boulders Computer Science / Software Engineering seems much more fitting. It does however seem more expensive, further away (I live within walking distance of UCD) and I'm concerned about being an adult student at a university that requires freshman to stay in dorms (which I know would not apply to me but that sets a certain stage at a school - I'm only 27 but that's certainly not 18-22). Does anyone have experience with the schools, specifically with their computer science programs? Are the programs really that different? Is Boulder more selective than Denver? How friendly is UC Boulder to working adults and adult students? I plan on visiting each school this weekend but expect biased answers from both and am looking for a "real world" opinion.
Associates in Arts or Associates of Science in General Studies? I'm trying to decide on an associates degree. I applied to my local cc but i've been in "verification" for FAFSA for over 2 months now. I've already missed the first semester and might possible miss the next, so I thought I might get the ball rolling with and online degree. I know ultimately I want to teach college which will require a Master's or PHD but I'm not sure what I want to teach (though math & science is out). A traditional school setting will allow me to explore my options so I'd like to take my BS at an on site school, but I'm tired of waiting so I thought I'd start with an Associates. I found two schools I'm interested in Colorado Tech University offers an Associates of Science in General Studies for approx $24k at 18 months. Iowa Central Community College online offers an A.A. for approx $18-20k. My question is would an A.S. in GS be better or worse than an A.A.? The A.S is 90 credits at $265 per credit all fees and books included. The A.A. is $295 per credit but only 62 credits, book not incl. Both are accredited and both offer FA and loans. Any help would be appreciated - I feel really confused by the whole process! Also, if anyone has had any experience with either college or an online college similarly priced let me know how it went!
Accredited Online college for communications? Due to my work situation and home life, I can't attend a "traditional" college, so I have officially completed my online degree with CTU Online. I have an Associate's in Business Administration. But I plan to go into a Bachelor's for Communications so that I will have a better chance at working as an online editor. My main goal is writing, but I also enjoy editing, and this degree will open more doors in editing and other avenues while I'm working toward my goals. I also plan to take writing workshops, editing workshops, and a few other online courses with magazines, but right now I'm focusing on my Bachelor's. My question is for anyone who has taken a Communications program. I am researching online colleges, and want to find one that is good, and one that will send me information via mail or Internet. I like to read the course descriptions and requirements rather than having an overly giddy person chattering on about how great the school is so they can get kickbacks from the school. I know it's their job, but I'm tired of the runaround...I just want to read the stuff, not hear about it because I want to make sure I know what I'm getting myself into. Does anyone have any experience with good schools...and schools to avoid? No Colorado Tech...love them but there's no Communications degree right now. No University of Phoenix...horrible experience there. No Kaplan or Penn Foster because I know former students who say the experience isn't worth the cost, and the textbooks are cheap and shoddy. I want a real school with real books and great professors. My advisor at CTU is helping me, but I want to be prepared and have more ideas of what I might like better. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! donut...actually, they can. If they are a real traditional university with a virtual campus. Even state colleges are now going this way to cut student costs. CTU is widely recognized, and I know this because I did my research before attending. So...just because I went to an online college, that doesn't make me stupid, but thanks.
Getting nervous about going back to school.? I am thinking about going back to school to further my education( get a degree in accounting) and I'm really starting to freak out I thought I had my choices narrowed down to Colorado Tech or Everest University but then I started reading all the like and dislike pages and now have no clue what to do. I also found another school University of Phoenix that looks promising. I am right now in a bad situation financially (barely making ends meet) and would definitely have to take student loans to help out basically, I would need them to help me survive through going to school and the time it would take. I really feel like if I could get a degree it would help me get employment so I could be more self sufficient but I'm also terrified with all the horror stories I've heard about student loans I am just looking for anyone who has had experience with online colleges to give me some advice especially anyone who went through these particular schools. I'm begging please please if you don't have any constructive comments don't just come on to be mean I am really scared here and looking for real advice my family is going under and I am trying to help fight our way back above water all I'm looking to be is a self sufficient hard working tax paying American so anyone with any help full advice please let me know. Regular loans are not an option I have rough credit due to hospital bills and a repossession. I'm not looking for a way to make a quick dollar I am looking for a way to pull myself up and out. But thank you for the information.
BS EE at UCD? Can I get your opinion? I am soon going to graduate from ITT Tech with an associates degree and I'm looking to continue on for a bachelors degree. I am interested in going to University of Colorado Denver but I read online that my credits will not transfer. It's my fault that I didn't do the research about these kinds of things. Think it will be possible to fight them to transfer a least something? I'm deciding if should start over and go for the bs ee degree at ucd or if I should transfer to another institute that accepts my credits like Devry or Colorado Technical University. I researched the schools and read a lot of reviews on the two tech schools. I found a lot of bad reviews and some good ones, however, some of the good ones doesn't sound convincing but they're a few that do. They both have the Accreditation Board of Engineering Technology (ABET) but some companies may still not hire from those schools. So I'm leaning towards going to ucd because it has good reputation and accreditation. I was told that there is a fine line between education and experience. I'm not experienced enough to understand if most or all companies would rather hire a person from a tech school with experience then a person from a university with none. I was thinking that if I do go through with ucd, I would try a co-op or get an internship to gain experience and hopefully that way I'll have a better chance of a good career. I'd also like to add that the bs degree at ITT Tech might be an option but I'm kind of avoiding it because of the cost and the reputation with companies. It has the same kinds of reviews as Devry and CTU. I'm not sure how much it would be for CTU but at Devry it would cost about 25k and get a bs degree in a year and 2 months. ITT Tech will be about 33k and a year and 9 months. For that kind of money, i could get 4 years at UCD instead of 2. Any advice is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance. To sum this up, basically I trying to decide if I should either go to ITT, Devry, or CTU for a bachelors OR go to UCD for Bachelors. My goal is to land a good job and career. I know that I have to gain experience in order to obtain that goal but unsure if most companies would base their decision by ones educational background.
Which course should I choose? Please read!? I want to go to the University of Colorado Denver. I want to be an OB/GYN. (http://www.ucdenver.edu/academics/colleges/medicalschool/programs/reproductive/Pages/ProgramOverview.aspx) I am not yet prepared to go to UCD as I have to begin my education where I am now (Indiana). What I need is an Associate's Degree of Science, so I have started looking into colleges and have narrowed it down to two: I could take online classes from Harrison College in Lafayette (where I live), enroll in their Medical Assistant program, and earn my Associate of Applied Science. I have already been recommended for admission. The other option is that I could move to Indianapolis and take classes at Ivy Tech studying Sonography and get my Associate of Science. However, I have a job where I am and I would need to transfer. I'd rather take Sonography, but it's in Indianapolis. On the other hand, I don't know if earning my Associate of Applied Science would be the same as earning my Associate of Science, which is required for the med school program I want to take at the University of Colorado Denver. Still, Harrison College IS closer and I've been recommended for admission, and I know I could get by as a Medical Assistant as the program and career-focused, but I don't know how it would affect getting into UCD. Also, since I already plan to move to Colorado after I finish one of the programs, I don't know if moving to Indy is a good idea, even if it is just for two years. I apologize for the length of my post. I am having a very hard time deciding. Thank you to all answerers. The move to Colorado is not because of school. I want to live in Colorado, personally. I would rather go to school where I want to live. The ideal plan would be get a 2-year degree where I am, move to Colorado, work for a year, then apply for Med School there as I would not be considered an out-of-state applicant.
Did Jesus tell Peter to put the sword away or get rid of it forever? Since the tragedies at Virginia Tech--the post-homecoming party in Crandon, Wisconsin--the Westroads shopping mall in Omaha, Nebraska--in Colorado (Youth With A Mission training center in Arvada and New Life mega-church in Colorado Springs)--and at Northern Illinois University, I've been seriously thinking about exercising my Second Amendment right. That is, purchasing a handgun for self defense/preservation purposes. I could be wrong, but the state I live in (Maryland) has a lot of challenges with regard to gun ownership. My other problem is that I'm a Roman Catholic Christian. Based on passages from both the Old and New Testament that pertain to defending oneself and others from harm (the ones that I've seen online), I found that there is nothing wrong with defending yourself and those around you if your life and their lives are threatened. One particular passage is the part where Jesus tells Peter, in verse 26:52 of the Book Of Matthew, to "Put thy sword back in its place. For he who lives by the sword will perish by the sword." Some people say that Peter using his sword to defend Jesus from arrest was inappropriate because Peter was preventing Jesus' mission to be crucified and to die for the redemption of our sins, hence, Peter being told to put his sword away. So now my question is when Jesus commanded Peter to put his sword back in its place (its sheath), did Jesus: A.) really mean it (as in 'This is not the time to use your sword. There will be other times on when it's OK to use it)? or B.) really mean get rid of the sword forever (as in throwing it away or destroying it)? Please explain why you pick A or B as your answer. And based on such answers, I can determine for myself whether I can proceed on exercising my 2nd Amendment right (knowing the gun laws, taking the training courses, getting the permit, etc.) or abandon it altogether. Also, feel free to correct me if I got some details wrong in the above paragraph and to offer me some advice. I'd really appreciate your feedback. Thanks. NOTE: This question is really about owning a GUN for protecting yourself and others around you although religious references are included. So whether you're pro- or anti-2nd Amendment, pro- or anti-gun, a gun rights or gun control advocate, feel free to answer the question provide and explain your answer. Also, additional advice, feedback, and more or different answers are welcome. Thanks.
When Jesus told Peter to put his sword away, did Jesus really mean get rid of it forever? This question is really about owning a gun for protecting yourself and others around you. So whether you're for or against guns, for or against the Second Amendment of the Bill Of Rights (part of the U.S. Constitution of course), a gun rights or gun control advocate, feel free to answer the question provided and explain your answer. Also, additional advice, feedback, and more or different answers are welcome. Now to further explain my question, since the tragedies: 1.) at Virginia Tech (April 16, 2007) 2.) at the post-homecoming party in Crandon, Wisconsin (October 7, 2007) 3.) at the Westroads shopping mall in Omaha, Nebraska (December 5, 2007) 4.) in Colorado (at the Youth With A Mission [YWAM] training center in Arvada and the New Life mega-church in Colorado Springs) (December 9, 2007) 5.) at the Lane Bryant clothing outlet in the Brookside Marketplace in the Chicago suburb of Tinley Park, Illinois (February 2, 2008) 6.) at Northern Illinois University (NIU) (February 14, 2008) I've been seriously thinking about exercising my God-given right to defend myself and others from harm (a right reaffirmed by the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution's Bill Of Rights). That is, purchasing a handgun for this purpose. I could be wrong, but the state that I live in (Maryland) has a lot of challenges when it comes to gun ownership. I'm a Roman Catholic Christian by the way (hence my reference to the 2nd Amendment as God-given). Based on passages from both the Old and New Testaments that pertain to defending oneself and others from harm (the ones that I've seen online), I found that there is nothing wrong with defending yourself and those around you if your life and their lives are threatened. One particular passage is the part where Jesus commands Peter, in verse 26:52 of the Book Of Matthew, to "Put thy sword back in its place. For he who lives by the sword will perish by the sword." Some people say that Peter using his sword to defend Jesus from being arrested was inappropriate because Peter would've prevented Jesus' mission to redeem us sinners from taking place (Jesus being lead to his crucifixion, dying on the cross, and resurrecting from death), hence, Peter being told to put his sword away. And based on them, I can determine for myself whether I can proceed on exercising my aforementioned right (this includes knowing the gun laws, taking the training courses, learning how to handle the gun, learning to shoot well with it, knowing when to shoot and when not to, getting the permit, etc. while keeping in mind how this process costs a lot of money) or abandon it completely. If I got some details wrong in the above paragraph, by all means, let me know and correct me on them. And again, additional advice, feedback, and more or different answers are welcome. Thanks.
Which online university is better for wanna be lawyers? If someone wants to study to become a lawyer, which online university would be more likely to be accepted as a accredited school? Strayer University or Colorado Tech Online? Which is regionally accredited and is that good?
can I transfer credits from C.T.U. online to Rutgers University? I am applying to Rutgers University and just wondering if I can transfer credits from Colorado Tech University Online cause I have 46 credits there that I would like to keep.
Good classes to take online in preparation for Pre Vet? I'm going to be moving to Colorado sometime within the next year or so and I kno the University of Colorado in Ft Collins is a great Pre Vet and Vet school, but in the mean time I would like to get some of my classes out of the way with some online classes. I'm not going straight to Pre Vet, I've been accepted to Bel-Rea to get my Associates degree as well as my vet tech certification. That will take one year off my pre vet, but what else can I take in the mean time? I would like to take some classes online through Bowling Green University, but is it wiser to take classes through University of Colorado because that's where I eventually hope to go? Any other suggestions and recommedations are greatly appreciated as well. Thanks.
Which two online universities are better than the other? I am stuck with choosing which online university to enroll in, Colorado Tech and AIU. I have to complete the admission forms by tomorrow afternoon (5/20) and I haven't even started yet. I want to work on getting my Associates degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources or Finance. Once I complete that I want to work on my Bachelors degree without switching universities. I already know that they both are accredited with CHEA, and their tuition fees are neck and neck. Colorado's Associate degree tuition rates are $15.00 higher than AIU's, and AIU's Bachelor degree tuition rates are $11.00 higher than Colorado's. Between the two universities, in your opinion, may be better? I would hate to change universities because one of them suck. If neither of these do it for you, then which online university would you recommend? Did you attend an online university, if so where did you go? Thanks for your help!
