Questions about service animal training? I'm currently doing a career project, and I've decided to choose Service animal training. However, I'm having trouble finding information on service animals aside from dogs. What animals are used for service? What service is each animal best suited for (seeing, retrieving, etc)? What's the avg salary range for a service animal trainer? What education is required? What skills does one need to be a successful trainer? Disadvantages/advantages of the career field? Like I've said previously, I could only find the above info on service DOG training, but info on other animals is limited. Attending college/university Irish or British army? Can enlisted men get a college degree whilst in the army. The reason i ask is because i am thinking about joining the army Irish/British as a career not just a five year stint but getting into the officer training program is difficult at best. The reason i ask is that the army fitness trainers and chefs and people like that (who are NCOs not officers) have degrees and such and i am just wondering did they receive there degrees/qualifications in college or in house (from the army) and would those qualifications suffice in the civilian world. Is a 68W like a paramedic? My older sister really wants to become a paramedic. She is having trouble getting the job and training. While she does volunteer a lot and is a certified EMT, I am wondering if a military career could give her an edge. I realize this is 110% up to her, but I do remember she used to have a Navy lanyard and received a few info packets from them. I was only going to suggest it for her. She has to have shoulder surgery, so there is no guarantee she'll make Army, Navy, or Air Force. The only reason I ask, if she were even to join the reserves and get the training and experience...would 68W or any other MOS transfer well as a paramedic?

If you are an accredited pharmacist who received their training in Canada, can you work legally in the US? I am a junior in high school (in Canada) considering a career in pharmacy. I was wondering that if someone were to receive their degree/additional credentials in Canada, would they be able to work in the US without need of further credentials? Air Force: Why is it that I have to hold a 5-level in my current career field now in order to put on E-5? I recently became a reservist after 4 years of active duty. I completed ALS, passed my test for staff, and I have a 5-level in my first career field... but I was told the rules have recently changed and since I'm not a 5-level in the career I'm cross-training into, I have to wait until my training and OJT is completely finished before I can sew on staff sergeant. That means I have to wait 2 years to put on the rank that I already earned back in October when I passed my test. What gives?? Is there a possibility that I've received bad info or is that really how it's done now? I verified with people from training, the education office, and MPF. There's no longer an E5 test on the PDG or SKT's for reservists; we just have to either attend ALS or take the test on the ALS materials, pass that test with a 70, and our test requirement is fulfilled. I thought it was wierd too, because Active Duty still has line numbers and cutoff scores and all of that.

The Missouri Comission on Human Rights told me I have until June to take this matter to court. On or about March 2005 she and I left with our group to attend the training academy in Jefferson City, while there I made some decisions that did not hold up to my character. On several occasions during after duty hours I consumed alcohol with this particular female. However approximately the third week of training the last one of these occasions occurred with the end result of me being accused of sexual assault and terminated from my employment due to her allegations. The Department of Corrections states that I was terminated for bad conduct for consuming alcohol and being late for class (1day late due to illness & the only other day was the day after the alleged allegation). When I was terminated I appealed this decision because I felt I was being discriminated against however my appeal was denied. Given the facts this other female Individual was consuming alcohol just as often as I was and that she was late to class as often as I, their decision was to allow her to keep her employment but terminate mine. I am under the impression that they believe I actually committed these accusations therefore terminating me for sexual assault, if they were to honestly terminate me for bad conduct for the consumption of alcohol they would have terminated this female individual as well. Regardless of what the Department of Corrections may have in their records they were aware of her actions while in the training academy. I have a letter signed by the Macon County Victims Advocate dated February 7, 2007 which states quote “ I made several telephone calls to law enforcement in Jefferson City and was told upon investigation the overall feeling was that Ms. XXXX made the accusation in order to keep from getting in trouble with her employer for drinking while in training and having relations with a fellow correction officer” this letter also states “ Ms. XXXX had a history of making false allegations in Macon County ”. I have attached this letter. After this incident I filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity but did not follow through due to family emergencies and I had also contacted the State Reps., State Senate, Director of State, the Division Director of Department of Corrections and Superintendant of Moberly Correctional Center their decisions stood final. I also seeked counsel from an attorney in Macon County who wanted much more than I could afford being a single father with 2 children at that time. It wasn’t until recently that I applied for a position as a law enforcement officer with the Travis County Sheriffs Department in Austin , Texas and found that because of the mark on my employment record I would not be able to obtain the position I was longing for. My criminal record is clean, I have many accredited hours in Criminal Justice, I am only being held back from doing what I want to, do due to false accusations from an unbalanced young lady. Ms. Ettledorf had make a claim that Mr. Yount raped her when She and Mr. Yount were attending training classes for their employment with the Missouri Department of Corrections, 1 made several telephone calls to law enforcement in Jefferson City and was told that upon investigation the overall feeling was that Ms. Ettledorf made the accusation in order to keep from getting in trouble with her employer for drinking while in training and having relations with a fellow corrections officer. I took a special interest in this case because Ms. Ettledorf had a history of making false rape allegations in Macon County One case involved three young men being charged with rape when Ms. Ettledorf was once again drinking alcohol and found herself in trouble for her behavior. The cases against the young men were dropped when she admitted to my self and the prosecuting attorney that there had in fact not been a rape or sexual contact with any of the young men. At least two additional times Ms. Ettledorf was in contact with law enforcement claiming sexual assault, and these were also false. Other than this contact, I do not personally know Joshua Yount, but would hate to see a young man’ s career be jeopardized by a mark on his record that does not accurately reflect what happened. This young lady continues to have problems with “relationships” and is currently a witness in a case involving her most recent er-boyfriend being stabbed by another male subject at her home. Any commercial Divers here??? I need your input.? Hey, whats up everyone? Am thinking about going to the Divers Academy International (DAI) in New Jersey (u.s.a). This career path has been of interest to me for a while now. I need some things answered before I can make a decision, and asking the (DAI) is not going to give me accurate info, because it's biased, of course they will tell me good things, because if I attend, they make 20k of my a$$. 1.) Has anyone on this site attended the (DAI)? If so, do they provide a quality, recognized education that prospective employers will trust? And also, they claim that they have a 95% placement rate for getting new graduates a job (although not guaranteed which is what worries me) does anyone know if this is accurate? This is one of my main concerns. I went to a month long training program for working on an oil rig (sept.-oct. '08) that also claimed a 90-95% placement rate, and I'm still not working. So I don't want to spend 25k on an education that gets me nothing but more debt. And as this website points out, a majority of jobs available are involved in oil production which is low right now....which leads me to my next question. 2.) Are there jobs available? Specifically for someone that would have no working experience, just the education? 3.) I have been on about 5 job board websites browsing through jobs trying to get an idea of how much $$$ I can make, and so far, only about 5% of the listed jobs tell how much they pay. most of that 5% are the really high paying jobs requiring 5-10 years of experience, so what about someone fresh outta school? What about someone with 1-3 years experience? 4.) Besides the actual type of work this job requires, one the most appealing things to me, is the jobs located throughout the world. I love to travel, and would like to work outside the U.S. as much as here, if not more. (DAI) claims most if not all the certs. You receive upon graduating are internationally recognized, is this accurate? Do any/all US certs. crossover to international employment? And is getting work outside of the US for an American easy? hard? possible? 5.) I smoke cigs, and don't plan on stopping. Will this cause any problems with the pressures associated with diving and going into hyperbaric chambers? Any currently working people that smoke, have problems? I am still really interested in becoming a commercial diver, but I'm not going to spend 25k on an education if there is no work available. I am down to the wire, and need to make a decision soon. If anyone can give me there input on these questions I have, especially on the reputation and validity of the Divers Academy International I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advanced.

Since his past 2 years attempts to ban Pit Bulls have failed, he as now initiated a bill that would be non-breed specific, and after a dog (off it's property) bites a person who would under normal circumstances seek medical care for said bite, the owner would be charged with a felony and receive a MANDATORY 20 days in jail. Many old ladies little lap monsters bite me, and I have to go to the ER for stitches (I am a groomer, this happens a few times a year, as I specialize in non-sedated little lap monsters) I will be required to provide info on the owner to police or face charges myself? So little old ladies will loose "muffin" to euthanasia, and grammy will do 20 days in the county jail, have a criminal record, not be able to vote, etc. This can effect everyone. This would ruin the careers and families of good people who improperly trained or socialized their dog. FYI, I would never turn in a clients dog unless it attacked UNPROVOKED, meaning it charged me as it came in the door and did damage enough as to cause me to incur major medical bils and loss of employment. As a groomer, I am considered "contract labor" and not eligible for workers comp. I carry my own insurance, but 1 claim wuold raise my rates beyond reasonable means. Animal industry workers comp is about the highet of all ocupations to insure. As for this billl punishing the owner...yes it would. BUT we all know there would beabuse of the conditions determining whether it was provoked., etc. It just isn't feasable. And a felony for a first time offense is quite serious. We give deffered sentences (that fall off a permanent record after probationary time is over) to drug dealers. Why not give an owner a chance to get rid of their pet, go back to being an otherwise productive citizen, and be able to vote of hold a job that requires a state license??? Thx for your answers
