Question about Police training? I was wondering if there are any programs that help the people that are interested in becoming a police officer explore the career and train before hitting the police academy? I'm about to be a freshman in college but i want to explore the field.. :D
I want to have an outdoor career. Any ideas? I'm 19 years old, and I don't have much outdoors experience yet. But it's my dream to have a career that lets me get outdoors and travel/explore as often as possible. I'm the kind of guy who doesn't want to vacation in Asia. I want to be dropped off there, and wander through the rough, purely for the adventurous feel of it. Anyone have any ideas of what careers let me really get out and travel and explore? On a side note, does anyone know of any survival training programs etc? I live in southern California. Thank you for your time

Career Path Suggestions? I am in my thirties, and have primarily been in theatre and acting until now. I am in NYC, and the acting thing is at a standstill. I'm looking for other avenues, even a training program of some sort (not a four-year college at this point). Does anyone have any suggestions on exploring a new career path for a performer?
Career Research, good or bad? CAREER RESEARCH Hi, My name is Jose Flores, the carreer I decided to investigate was Seconday Education, which is a high school teacher, now you may think a teacher is a person who is making your life impossible but thats just Mr. Chain. Their are more than 1 million secondary school teachers employed in the U.S., US teachers are generally paid on graduated scales, with income depending on experience. Salaries vary greatly depending on state, relative cost of living, and grade taught, salary for a teacher with a bachelor's degree being an estimated $32,000 in the early years of teaching, usually teachers will get an increase in their salary yearly. They are employed by contracts, some contracts may include long-term disability insurance, life insurance, emergency/personal leave and investment options, one of the highest incomes of a teacher is usually maximum of $42,000. The first years in teaching are said to be very tough since its not a high paid job considering you are barely coming fresh out of college, if you love Roman Noodles then the financial should be no problem since thats what you are gonna be eating for the next 4 years. Teaching has an extremely high level of Work-Related Stress or WRS abbreviated, the degree of this problem is becoming increasingly recognized and support systems are being put into place. Misconduct by teachers is extremely untolerable, as punishment can be from banned from schools or long term prison sentence. A study by the AAUW reported that 9.6% of students in the United States claim to have received unwanted sexual attention from an adult associated with education, not necessirily a teacher but it could be by a volunteer, bus driver, administrator or other adult - sometime during their educational career. A good high school teacher is someone who loves helping others. Some important general work activies are developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time. Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills, identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others. Use public speaking techniques, a bad one is ensuring correct grammar, punctuation, or spelling. Prepare educational reports, advise students, record student progress, resolve behavioral or academic problems, establish and maintain relationships with students, select teaching materials to meet student needs, develop course or training objectives, adapt course of study to meet student needs. Some more specific stuff includes attending staff meetings and serve on committees. Use computers, audio-visual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations. Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students. Prepare students for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks. Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress. Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence. Chat with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems, sponsor extracurricular activities such as clubs, student organizations, and academic contests. Instruct and monitor students in the use of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage. Interview (Mr. Buller) 1.Do you sign a contract when you get hired? 2.Do teachers get an increase in their salary yearly? 3.What are the requirements to teach science in high school? 4.Can you just quit if you want or do you have to finish your contract? 5.Can a person get hired as a teacher if in his/her past has committed a serious crime like murder or rape? Personal Information: Why I chose to research on the teaching category is because teachers are almost the people that have more days off in their life, I want to specifically study on Science, it involves obtaining a Bachelor's Degree which is a 4 year college education, and later in life I want to be a Coach, because its fun making people run until they puke. Question about training to be an x-ray tech..? I am exploring options for a career, some reason being an x-ray tech caught my attention the most....I am looking online where to train, and i've come across a handful of different places...My main question is, a lot of the places only offer certificates, from common sense i already know they aren't as meaningful as a degree, but how big of a difference will it make if i only have a certificate? I am open to degree programs but i really just need some guidance before making a decision.Any advice or suggestions will be very helpful. thank you, i will pick best answer.

Which major would be better for a career in Public Relations? I want to be a public relations specialist for a company dealing with music, art, hair, or fashion, and I am going to SUNY Purchase College. The college offers a few majors that I feel could potentially lead to a career in PR, but I don't know which one would be better. If there is anyone out there that could help me please do. =] The first major is journalism. I feel like that major would sharpen my writing skills, and give me the edge to express both orally, and through type, precisely what I am trying to express. I have been told that this is a very important skill for PR Specialists to posses. I'm just scared that this major wont make me stand out to potential employers, and that if PR falls through for me as a career choice, I will have nothing to fall back on as I have heard that Journalism is a dying field. Here is their curriculum for that major: http://www.purchase.edu/departments/AcademicPrograms/LAS/humanities/Journalism/AcademicRequirements.aspx The second major is a neat and unique major. It is called Communications - Media, Society, and the Arts, and I like it because I would learn about the arts and social sciences, but at the same time I would also learn a lot about the media. From what I've read, I need to know a lot about the media to become successful in the PR field. The school's website says: "The Media, Society, and the Arts B.A. Program combines social science theory and methodology with studio training in the arts. Our students explore the complex and fascinating relationships that exist among media, society, and the arts, including how various institutions and forms of art and media relate to one another, as well as the role of the artist and media professional in today’s society. Students who choose to emphasize visual art forms like video, film, or photography may use these media either as methodological tools for expanding a discipline in the social sciences, or as substantive areas of inquiry in their own right. Alternatively, students who choose to emphasize dance, music, or theatre arts relate these performing art forms to social inquiry" I also feel like getting my hands dirty in the arts would make me look more legitimate to the types of companies that I would like to work for. I just don't know if potential employers would recognize this as a legitimate major. Here is the curriculum for the Media, Society, and the Arts major: http://www.purchase.edu/departments/AcademicPrograms/LAS/FilmMediaStudies/MSA/academicrequirements.aspx Which do you think would be an overall better choice? Here is a list of the rest of their majors if you think neither of those would be a good choice: http://www.purchase.edu/departments/admissions/ (Click the drop down menu) Thanks in advance for any help that you provide! =]
Are there any gifted programs for 17-year olds? I know it's a long shot, but do any exist? 've been tested before and have a high IQ (I don't remember exactly what, but it was between 130 and 140) so I think I could make it in to a decent program. I was tested by a professional, not an online quiz. I looked at CTY, and had the PSAT scores for it, but a) not the money and b) it's too late for me to go. This was the last year I could have gone. As a regular here would know ( >_>;; ) my education has been pretty botched. I have yet to do any science in high school, despite a high interest level. I have some family issues that have held me back, but I can handle high-level work. I'm managing a B average so far in two AP classes, which I think is pretty good since I'm still learning how to be a student, if that makes sense. I understand what I'm reading, but I'm still getting used to writing essays the way I'm supposed to. I'm also good at math but have had some bad teachers, so my scores don't reflect my abilities. I'm not saying I could be acing absolutely everything, but I know I'm academically underachieving- relative to my abilities. I have a really, really hard time making friends. I have perfectly fine social skills, but I can't find people my age who share my passions. Granted, my passions are pretty boring -Baroque music and exploring how Austrian economic thinking makes everything make sense; sounds fun, huh?- but I just have a hard time enjoying spending time with a lot of people. I've gotten lucky with landing a best friend who became my wonderful boyfriend of two years- but now I'm worried about stifling us. And if nothing else, I could use another friend or two. I've been thinking about it a lot, and it seems like a summer program for gifted students could be really good for me. I'm sure there would be plenty of people I won't be particularly fond of, but finding even just one other person to stay in touch with would be nice. I've been spending a lot more time alone than I'm comfortable with, and wouldn't mind a friend or two for days when my boyfriend isn't around. There's a dearth of programs available for people my age, which is a bit discouraging. If anyone knows of programs in the US that accept 17-year olds, let me know. (For any homeschooling bashers: Nobody I know of has this problem. I'm very introverted -I was born that way- and have a tendency to hole up. Currently there are basically no people my age in my homeschool group, which is the most comprehensive one in my area. There are a lot of people a year or two younger, but as a rule, the people I get along with best are my age or older. It's not like I won't talk to anyone younger than me, but I'm not going to be finding any 14-year olds to hang around with. One of my friends moved to Israel and is now in basic training. Another is 22 and pursuing a rock music career. One potential friend now lives in a dorm at Sarah Lawrence. Everyone older than me has moved on. I don't know of anyone else -including my fraternal twin sister- who has this problem. Even if there are one or two other people in my group, it's not the norm.) Tim: I don't think I'm better than anyone else. I'm just saying that I tend to spend a lot more time thinking about fairly boring things than people my age, who are busy being social and having lives. I have a hard time finding people I can connect with- and I think that really sucks. I think that a gifted program might have other people with the same issues, and specifically might have other homeschoolers. I'm not too cool to make friends with people in school, but it's hard to maintain a friendship when one person has the world of a school to be immersed in and the other doesn't. Add in constraints on time, and it's a logistical nightmare. And for potential answerers: I'm 16 now, but by the time I could enroll in a summer program, I'd be 17.
What career path should I choose? Unsure of what to do with my life. Graduated college with a BA in History and Political Science, was accepted into law schools but left after realizing I didn't want to pursue a career in law and have worked in city government before their budget got cut and now K-12 education. I took the GRE, did well, considered applying to graduate school in sociology to try my hand at academia but didn't take the leap because: A) No prior research experience on my CV B) Dim prospects of attaining a job as a sociologist with the current job market (more PhDs produced than positions open) C) At best, the only marketable skills (beyond arcane theoretical posturing) I would gain from sociological training would be statistical analysis and how to write ethnographies. I've since started shadowing doctors at a local research hospital and have applied to post-bacc pre-medical programs which will be *expensive* if I decide to enroll (appx. $30,000 and I currently have only $10k in assets). I'm increasingly becoming apprehensive about the future of the profession of medicine after reading accounts of non-traditional medical school applicants and the general malaise/depression of those in the profession (due to decreased reimbursements, hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt, no control over one's work/life balance, and feeling *stuck* once one goes down this path). In addition, my goal would be to be a medical scientist (MD), as I'm not a big fan of the clinical aspect of medicine-the only issue with this is that I would have no hope of ever repaying my loans on that salary. Since what originally drew me to the medical path was basic science research on malaria and tuberculosis, I am also now exploring basic science research (getting a BS) leading to a PhD yet note that basic science research in this country is just as broken a system as medicine, only with much lower salaries, and little, if any chance of getting a lab to run as a PI before the age of 45. Spending 10+ years as a postdoc doesn't seem that appealing in the long run. Currently, I feel as though I have only a few remaining options: academia, engineering, or minor healthcare/science positions. What options would you advise I pursue?
Advice of Air Force AFSC retraining or career path? I am currently a 5-level SRA at luke afb, AZ. I do Tactical Aircraft Maintenance and although overall the job is alright, there are things I do like and things I don't like. *LIKES* -I like the fact that Luke AFB is a training base and deployment / reassignments are virtually non existent. We just occasionally go TDY to different places for short periods of time. This makes married life alot easier. -I like the relaxed environment between Officer and Enlisted members on the flightline. *Dislikes* - You constantly work outside 12 hours a day and in AZ it is either extremely hot or extremely cold. - There is no such thing as a lunch break, you eat when you have time or dont eat at all some days. - The job holds enormous amounts of responsibility with Quality Assurance, signing your name to everything you do, and having a T.O in your hand for daily washing of the canopy. - With such a large squadron someone is always f**king something up and instead of holding the individual responsible, its always squadron punishment. It gets very annoying when its something you have no control of preventing as well. - And most of all, there is no special hazard pay like other shops get, even though we are always the ones directly exposed to all of the hazardous chemicals/mishaps. I am looking into either going guard or reserve, using my GI Bill to go to school full time and get bah pay. The only disadvantage to this is the almost 50% reduction in pay and I dont know the differences between guard and reserve and which would be a better choice. The second option I am looking into is to retrain into another afsc that I actually enjoy doing. This is what I am looking for: - Prefer Non-Deployments / Reassignments - Prefer an indoor or partial indoor job that doesn't require me to suffer through the extreme environments all day. - Prefer a job that is non mechanical (turning wrenches) - Prefer something computer based but not a boring scheduling job. - Prefer a job that would station me in southern california ( that is where i am from ) - Prefer a job where I can work a normal 8-10 hour day, go home and hang out with my wife and not have a out of control schedule. I am interested in Los Angeles AFB - Space and Missile Systems Center. They have a Space Superiority Systems Wing that sounded like it had a exciting mission. I started looking into Space Systems Operations Apprentice but when I started reading about the job on forums everyone talks about you could get stuck in missile warning 12 hour shifts that are 6 days on 3days off or you could get command and control ofsatellitess which is more rewarding. Another thing everyone kept talking about being stationed at bases in colorado but no one every mentioned anything about being stationed in Los Angeles, CA. If anyone can comment on any of the topics discussed above, provide any AFSC that I may be interested in, or any advise to help me make a decision that would be great. Also if anyone has been stationed at Los Angeles AFB, what jobs might most fit my needs. I am really interested in the Air Force Space program though. I would enjoy exploring space through video and images, controllingsatellitess, discovering new things and more. Maybe someone can even provide a rewarding career path where i go guard or reserve and use my Gi Bill to get into something like that. Thank you for any input you give.
Health care career question? Can you get a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography(ultrashound tech)? Around here there are places like Sanford Brown, and its too expensive and dosnt offer certification at the end of training. The other option that I have found is an associate degree program at the community college which takes two years but the problem with that is i already have some college done, and Im wanting to keep going. I really dont want to start all over. Someday I would like to become a doctor or pharmacist...im just exploring my options right now!
An amazing fake story? Okay so here's the story: this girl at around 11 wanted to be a spy her whole life. So she goes to her local police department & asked if they have programs at there department to explore the law enforcement career. But the people at the department were like ah that's cute, come back in seven years. And then told her to leave. Once she walked outside and onto the sidewalk this sketchy looking guy stopped her and told her he was apart of tha CIA and they are recruiting people while they're young. It's now 2011, she finishes her Teen CIA training or whatever and now she's back home and undercover. She's on a mission. What should the mission be? Anything interesting I should put in this all/add to. Maybe a 'what should happen next' sort of thing?

Pursuing a nursing career. I need a more stable concrete plan or feedback on the one I already made..? This is my current career track, I made it on my own.I am starting with a CNA -NT - LPN or get an associate RN. after that my plans kind of fizzle. I chose this field because I am a caring patient compassionate person and taking care of others is more of a personal responsibility to me than a job and I had that one great AP teacher who helped me to grasp how your body works. I have attended a tech school for my CNA while working in elder home care. Now that I am almost finish my CNA courses, I was told a few area hospitals will hire and train me as a Nurse Tech. So while working in that I am considering an associate RN or LPN and from their I am kind of unsure. I have considered trying the ultrasounds and MRI type jobs they go through less school, take care of less patients it is not as demanding and it has a good future forecast it will also offer me the same ability to care for patient. I have spoken to people in the field, worked, and offered long term bedside care for a few friends & family members and I checked out Occupation Outlook Guide. I am interested in nursing for my near future (10-20 years) but I want the freedom to opt out in my later years (45 years old and beyond). I am also interested in teaching and I know that is possible with a BA. I am not really interested in going all the way up the normal nursing career ladder because I am not a very competitive person. I could see myself as a teacher, councilor maybe even a program director. I thrive in areas where I am free and able to be creative in a more relaxed regime and if it counts I still hate math. My greatest concern is going through school and still having my options boxed into one job (and a truly demanding one at that). Also the school to benefit factor plays a strong role I want each educational pursuit to bring a greater return than the last. Since the medical field is a specific field I wonder if I will be able to move around in different fields (not conclusive to nursing). I do not want my career to be a student, I need a career where I can get in get out then work and eventually retire comfortably with time to explore my zany interest (such as running my own summer camp maybe even a boarding school for teen moms and their babies or even just a private preschool) . I am a wife and mother so I am working around a family and my career choices have to revolve around the ability to work while learning and raising a family. ADVISE,ADVISE ADVISE..... My goal is to get a realistic grasp of how to pursue my interest and get a *fluid* career path that embraces my needs, personality and interest even if that means going back to square one ( I need a ABC instructions plain simple and to the point to stay on track) When I said teaching I meant at a University in the Allied Health classes as an next step from nursing.
Should I stay in my relationship? i really appreciate good advice!! Please help! Im 22yrs old, I recently graduated with a bachelors degree. I also own a house. I try to be the best go getter I can be and I’m building it all from very humble roots. my girlfriend of 2 years is 22 and works part time and goes to school for a associates degree, but she isnt sure what shes gonna do at all. she lives at home She is an extravert, fun, outgoing. Im an introvert, I like to work and be productive and I need time alone especially since I got this job. Before my job, it actually helped us complement each other and help balance each other out by being different I think. I think a lot of couples are that way?? [We have been a symbol to everyone for monogamy and how to be a happy couple. I feel in love with her because she is so happy, fun and positive. We are very exclusive to each other and have talked about marriage and kids and a family together. I got my first job our of college that is requiring a lot of my time and Its my dream job, or atleast I think it is. The job requires you to sacrifice a lot the first cpl yrs (60+ hrs) and afterwards you can make 6 digits if you make it. I want to do great things for myself and provide a better life for my family than I had growing up. ] Since my new job, work/ life balance has been challenging. she has been supportive for the most part. since I had my job our relationship has gone under a lot more pressure. I feel like she is incapable of 80% of most daily tasks and its frustrating. She wants to be young still and have fun, but I want to build a strong foundation for the rest of my life. She needs a lot of attention and is insecure all the time. She isn’t very confident which is frustrating too. I feel like it rubs off on me sometimes. Her dad does everything for her and I don’t think I want that kid of daddy daughter relationship. I want a strong powerful woman that is a companion at the same level, not a girl I need to do everything for. i feel like maybe we are holding each other back. She wants attention and have fun. and I want a career so that I don’t have to worry about it when Im older. Neither of us have dated a whole lot, especially me. I don’t think we even know what we are doing. Sometimes I feel like she holds me back from being aggressive and exploring and doing more things with my career and job. One reason this job is soo hard is because I didn’t even try to go do a 6 month training program because I felt like she wouldn’t be comfortable with me leaving for 6 months. But now the job is a lot harder because I dnt know what im doing. Iam I a workaholic that needs to slow down or do I just know what I want? Are we good for each other or should we take a break? Should we go on a break? Should we break up?

Hi all, I'm looking to study through the Open University on a course which has modules that I can start to study from October this year. My long term goal is to study and train to become a counsellor. I have chosen to study an undergraduate degree in Psychology before embarking on my post-graduate counselling studies but I am now having difficulty trying to select the best modules for my intended "destination" so to speak. Do any of you have a career in counselling? Or has anyone followed the same kind of study program as I hope to? Could you possibly guide me on what would be best to cover? Or is there anywhere in particular on the internet, or an organisation I can contact, that might be able to give me a better answer? Below is a list of - module names and codes, level of study (also relates to which YEAR of study you are in), the amount of UCAS points the module offers, and a start date for each. I am really only worried about the level 1 courses at the moment, as I need to register my intention to study the degree soon! I am only required to study for 60 points in my first year - any more than that would create a problem with the amount of time I can study per week. question about MMC - medicine? MMC is basically a programme that provides career structure for doctors. The aim was to provide a structure for SHO's because initially many had no career direction. Currently the F1 and F2 (replacing PRHO and SHO) at the stages leading to the specalisation after the second year in several branches of medicine (some have criticesed this as it removes doctor's freedom to explore many specialisms) Doctors then undergo Spectialty training at the end of which they recieve certificate of completion of training and can them become a specalist registrar and eventuallyt consutlant or GP is this all correct
Supplement Essay??? REVIEW? Im doing my supplemental essays for Michigan and basically I read them and I see nothing wrong, but if you see any mistakes and feel it needs some editing, can you please make the corrections. Everyone belongs to many different communities and/or groups defined by (among other things) shared geography, religion, ethnicity, income, cuisine, interest, race, ideology, or intellectual heritage. Choose one of the communities to which you belong, and describe that community and your place within it. (Approximately 250 words) Being Christian has been a part of my everyday life. My parents were very involved in church. The church we attended was in East Los Angeles, it wasn’t the best neighborhood but it has allowed me to learn and grow as an individual. From a small age I would attend the children’s class, the class taught me rules and guidelines that we had to follow and obey. I always believed these teachings would lead to a prosperous life, which has influenced the person I have become. Church has just been as important as family, I grew up with everybody there, so I could call them my family. Everybody at the church comes from different backgrounds and perspectives, some from bad life styles and some from great life styles. Since there were individuals older and younger than me, I looked to learn and take from their perspectives to influence others as well as myself. The church grows and stays stable by the contributions of its people, volunteering and helping others whether it is advice or work has came naturally from the environment and my parents. Following these Christian morals to the best of my ability’s has given me some big shoes to fill. I took the obligation to be a role model of my community and show that anybody can make it. Describe the unique qualities that attract you to the specific undergraduate College or School (including preferred admission and dual degree programs) to which you are applying at the University of Michigan. How would that curriculum support your interests? (500 words maximum) I had an engineering bug that made me take my toys apart, assemble them together again, and figure out how video games worked; I wanted to know how it all came together with software and hardware, which has led to my ambition in technology. At a small age I couldn’t figure out how it worked but I wanted to understand it. My desire to comprehend stuck through my life. My desire leads me to majoring in Engineering. The University of Michigan a wide range of engineering majors, not many schools offer so many paths. US news ranks the University of Michigan at number nine for the best engineering schools. On top the University of Michigan is considered a top medical school, which catches my attention because my second major is in medicine. I really enjoyed AP Chemistry in high school; I found it fascinating how almost everything around us is made from chemicals. Its amazing how we can create drugs that can make you feel happier, better, and healthy. I feel chemistry could open up to many career paths in the medical field. Looking into Michigan’s majors, I noticed that the university offers Athletic Training/Sports Medicine. It caught my attention because I always been interested how athletes pre-pared from games or events, whether it be the supplements or exercises they preform. Looking towards the future it looks like very interesting and career I could see myself in. The University of Michigan offers every aspect I look to pursue in my education. It’s a top school in the country in both engineering and medical, I feel I would be able to explore my interest passion at the University of Michigan.

Students will develop an awareness of environmental and societal issues, and will begin to explore secondary and postsecondary education and training pathways leading to careers in technology-related fields.
Which IT course is better? Also, can you guys please give me their advantages and disadvantages. Here are the choices: BS Computer Science with specialization in Computer Systems Engineering The Computer System Engineering (CSE) program combines a computer science curriculum with selected subjects in computer engineering, combining synergistically the power of digital computers with analog electronics, electromechanical systems and computer software. Curriculum tracks specializing in embedded systems, mobile robotics, digital signal processing, and system automation are offered. With these, students in this program gain the knowledge of developing application-specific computer-based systems, with emphasis on real-time systems and automation. Computer System Engineering graduates can pursue careers as microprocessor systems designers, embedded system engineers, test engineers, and system software developers. Possessing excellent hard and soft skills, CSE graduates are ready to be productive individuals in the IT and allied industries. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with Specialization in Software Technology (CS-ST) The Software Technology program prepares students to become mature software engineers and researchers. The program trains students in the discipline of software engineering, focusing on the design of efficient, reliable, and quality software products. ST students are capable of doing research. Early on in their academic life, students are encouraged to explore their research interests and discover innovative technology that will help shape the future of Computer Science Research. The program provides the necessary background for students to pursue graduate studies. At the end of the 3rd year, ST students will begin developing their thesis project. Students in a group of four conceptualize and develop complex software system, in which they will defend at the end of the 4th year. The quality of the student's thesis has met and sometimes exceeded the standards of the local computing industry. Many organizations have even expressed commendation for the students' thesis. In June 1998, four ST students entered their thesis project in the DOST-sponsored Search for Product Excellence in Information Technology. The group bagged the first prize, taking home a total of one million pesos. In the field of artificial intelligence, several thesis projects involving strategic games have been developed. For instance, GenWars is an undergraduate thesis project that is similar to existing strategy games like Warcraft, Command and Conquer, and Red Alert. However, in GenWars, different characteristics, such as life, stamina, and fighting skills, are used as basis for overall strength. It also simulates psychological characteristics such as obedience, camaraderie, wisdom, bravery, and hiding abilities. The sequence is dependent on game situations and is not predictable or periodic like in the usual strategy games. Long Story, short: The first choice focuses on the software and the Platform of the computer itself.... So yeah, and the second choice is about making games. I'm fine with both, but can anyone give me their advantages and disadvantages. Possible pays for both if I get hired, stuff like that. Thanks!!!
how to become an x-ray tech.....10 points to best? I am exploring options for a career, some reason being an x-ray tech caught my attention the most....I am looking online where to train, and i've come across a handful of different places...My main question is, a lot of the places only offer certificates, from common sense i already know they aren't as meaningful as a degree, but how big of a difference will it make if i only have a certificate? I am open to degree programs but i really just need some guidance before making a decision.Any advice or suggestions will be very helpful. thank you, i will pick best answer.

College or Marine Corps.? I Have been wanting to join the Marine Corps. since as long as I can remember. I am 17 years old and a Junior in high school. I have read books, watched movies and interviews, magazines also I have talked to friends who are in the Corps. Now here's where the problem takes place. The parents. I haven't told them that I want to join and over the course of the last three years they continue to push for college but as they have since I was a child continue to shun the Military. I would come out and tell them but it can be hard when your parents come at you with (the following) this every time you mention a military career/personnel. " Do you really want to take a bullet for them? What are they going to do for you?" "All they do is teach you how to kill" "Why would anyone want to join the military?" or the classic "I'd remove you from the will!". and of course the typical what a wasteful war mumble. I want to join the Marines for many reasons. Reason 1, I want to be apart of a brotherhood that will last for a lifetime, and serve next to them in whatever MOS that may be. Reason 2, I want to earn the title Marine, I want to be proud of it. Reason 3, I want to explore the world. Reason 4, I feel I have never earned anything in my life, I come from a upper middle class family. Both parents have gone to college and they expect the same from me. I have always gotten what I wanted on Christmas. Looking back on my life as a younger kid, I don't believe I earned it. I want to make something for myself and not come off as a slacker or just a kid in the norm going to college. I want to be on my own and earn my own, even use the G.I. Bill to go to school later. I might add I am going to college sometime in my life but I don't want to straight out of high school although I do make good grades and enrolled in a early college high school program (community college online). Both of my grandfathers served as Doctors/Medics. One in the Navy and the other in the USMC. This is something I want to do. And I cannot stress enough "What I Want To Do". I was once told if you're too afraid to tell your parents that you're going to join the military, then it's not for you. It's not that I'm afraid.. I just don't know how to ask. For those of you who want to critique my idea of the Marines, please understand that for me at least, I don't know who else feels this way in the military but.. it's just an indescribable feeling. When ever I learn or read or listen to a story about boot camp or Afghanistan I get excited, I want to learn it, I want to live it. I even enrolled in my schools weight training class. What i'm getting at is, tell me what you think I should do. I'd prefer going in as Enlisted and working my way up but I posted this up here for your idea's and opinions. I already know my own. For those who think I SHOULD or encourage me to join the Marines right out of HS as I feel I should please give me a few ways I should break it to my folks. I have already spoken to a recruiter and told him that I would tell them. Thanks to all Sincerely, Noah E. ~ To those who have served ~ Thank You ~ All give some, some give all ~ "Both of my grandfathers served as Doctors/Medics. One in the Navy and the other in the USMC. This is something I want to do. And I cannot stress enough "What I Want To Do"." ~I did NOT mean this as me wanting to be a Medic/Doc. In the USMC.
Can someone check my paragraph (first ever college assignment o.O)? As the title says, could someone give me a hand here? The topic we had to write about was an event/choice that led us on a certain path/changed us in some way, and why the event put us on the path or changed us. “I want to be an astronaut,” the naïve child says, with variations on the same theme of policeman aspirations and the like. The superhero career desire tends to fade as the child gets older though, for cold realities of not being smart enough or curious enough tell the child their goal is just a pipe dream. For me, I’ve always wanted to be an astronaut, but I’ve become increasingly aware that to do so requires you to have the “the right stuff” as author Tom Wolfe put it. Having taken math classes as all students must do, I became acutely aware that I was not as adept as some of my classmates, and started down the self-destructive path by thinking, “Well, I could never have solved that problem.” Thus sprouted the idea in my head that smarts were inborn—in terms of intelligence, Nature would always win out over Nurture, and unfortunately for myself, I wouldn’t be smart enough to qualify for space programs. This sort of unchangeable destiny for mediocrity-thinking peaked in my freshman year of high school, when I had to take Honors Geometry. I struggled where my seatmates did not, and scored lower on tests even after rigorous studying (my seatmates would continually score higher with less studying). I felt stuck, and even jealous of classmates who had no desire to be “up there” but who had all those qualities needed to do so. At one point, during some dreadful studying session, I remarked to my teacher that it was only possible to raise your IQ by five points during your lifetime, which in essence meant you could never become a genius if you weren’t already born one. And then, despite being one of the school’s most hated teachers, he went on to explain to me that IQ tests didn’t account for the very important aspect of human potential. He said that anyone could be quick at math like the savants of the class by simply training your mind to think certain ways. He said that somebody with an IQ of over 150 could end up being stupider than someone with an IQ of 120, depending on how each potentials’ were explored. Needless to say, this meant that if I wanted to, I could be space-faring scientist, just as one could be a writer, a musician, or an engineer. It’s been said that if you think you can do something, chances are you will be better able to than if you told yourself you couldn’t. How that really works in terms of chemicals and neurons in your brain, I don’t know, but it definitely worked. I can’t say if this event enabled me to be the astronaut, for I haven’t even finished school yet, but I can be certain that it put me on the path to being able to do whatever I wanted to do, and to not settle for less when there’s nothing stopping you from living the dream.
Will you check my essay please? the question is "outline the reasons you have decided to apply to the program,as well as details and factors relevant to the review of your application" note..im esl student I decided to go for Information Technology Management because I like business and technology. I believe technology is improving and will still improve our society. I see technology as a huge opportunity to change society. On the other hand, business is a broad field which has helped society creates jobs and boost economies around the world. Before to apply to Ryerson I checked the curriculum of Information Technology Management and seem really interesting that this program offers business, telecommunication and information systems as main cores. Additionally, Ryerson web site offered an excellent explanation of the program and even shows what is about each course and I could get a general idea to know how this program totally fits my expectations. I have goals to accomplish after graduated from this program, I would like to begun as entrepreneur related to information systems, start a company that can help and benefit society in many ways (I haven’t decided what kind of business) but I believe I can decided ahead once I start studying at Ryerson in the program Information Technology Management. Also I now that Ryerson has entrepreneurship clubs and allow students to work in its computer laboratories. Finally, I want to found a charity designed to help children with computer literacy. Five years ago I did not have a strong desire about my life. I have post-secondary experience from El Salvador. I began University at the age of 17 years old, I choice Architecture as my career because I was just interesting in “AutoCAD” however I realized architecture is more art program than technological, which make me to failed a subject. Then I skip University a semester because the country went through social problems and I went to US to be safe, when I came back to University, I changed career to Systems Engineering, I was not the same, I had low self-esteem after my struggle into Architecture, I went to Systems Engineering because it was related to computer science, however, I realized that engineering required to you great mathematical and physics skills to be successful in the program, taking in account I struggled in engineering mathematics and programming, I made the decision to go out of engineering and changed the program for second time. Finally, I decided to follow my preference for business and information systems, I went for the Bachelor of Administrative computer systems, which I really liked because was business and computer systems, versatile program and focus about how computer systems improve business. I could not even finish a semester in the new program because I came to Canada, also, I could not drop the courses that’s the reason I have 3 courses failed with less than 2.0 points. My background education is disappointed to me. I made a lot of mistakes, starting from my decisions until my performance in each subject, I did immature actions in my studies and did not appreciate the great value of the education until I came to Canada where I realize the gold opportunity that I basically threw away in El Salvador and find that post-secondary education is a privilege. Probably, I do not have strong academic experience but I know how challenge University is and if I got accepted in Ryerson please do not make any evaluation of my credits, I want to start from the beginning and get “fresh start.” I explored all my interest program, now I really know what I want and I know what goals in my life are. My mindset has totally changed, I was volunteer with newcomers to Canada, where I helped newcomers with language or School homework, I volunteered for around 7 months, which was a new experience to me in my life. Currently, I work in Dollarama where I have been working 6 months in row, learned how to deal with people; they trained me in cash and customer service. Before to come to Canada I never work and these are reasons to believe that I changed my mindset. These time has help me to think about my life and future,Im 19 years old and I realize that I desire a post-secondary education because education is not an obligation; education is the way to be a better person for your family, society and yourself and I’m sure that education I can get it in Ryerson University. feedback is welcome.. also if u want u can write your email and i can sent to you
this is the end of my essay, will you proof read please? On to college, being a radiologic technologist doesn’t require a huge amount of college. Knowing computers is an additional thing I found that was important in this line of employment, this is because working the x-ray machine includes working with circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, computer hardware and computer software. This topic is something I could defiantly learn a lot about. Two years, or an associates degree at a technical school is needed. During these two years my class load would be heavy, some students prefer to space the courses out and go to college for 3 years (Radiologic Technologists and Technicians). Things studied during college are radiation protection, pathology, patient care procedures and medical ethics among other things. After college, you can become certified or licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, certification will help you when applying for a job. To get this certification I would have to pass an exam on everything I learned in college (How To Be an X-Ray…). Another helpful piece of advice I’ve found was that to get more experience you should train or take an intern ship at a hospital , or enlist in an accredited radiography program (How To Be an X-Ray…). I think when looking for a job or researching a career you should look for one that you already have the personality traits for considering it is hard to change your personality. One trait I think is common sense is, caring for people and being a people person. Through out the day in this field you are helping people, trying to make them less in pain, help them know what is wrong, or talking to various doctors and medical personal. So being someone who can get along with a lot of people would greatly help in this occupation. This is something I feel I would be good at because I enjoy being around people and am a people person. Also I have found out that time management is a good skill or trait to have as an x-ray technologist (Radiologic Technologist). You need to keep in mind at all times the other injured patients waiting to be taken care of. Next I think another skill that goes hand-in-hand with time management is coordination. Career Zone explains this skill as “adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions”. Two more personality traits that I think easily relate to one another are being able to think critically and being able to instruct others easily. The first, critical thinking or logic, is needed when comparing and contrasting individual solutions and outcomes. Critical thinking is needed to instruct others, every situation will be different working in this field (Radiologic Technologist). For example, one day you may be instructing a little boy with a broken arm how to waterproof his cast before showering, where as the next day you could be informing an elderly lady about her broken ankle. Overall I think I have these skills but if I do plan on being a radiologic technologist I should work on my instruction skills. So far this seems like a rewarding career but when exploring this job I have found two other jobs that are rather thought-provoking, for one, a radiation therapist. People in this career make about the same salary as an x-ray technologist, have more schooling but can provide radiation therapy. These professionals can still take x-rays though (Radiation Therapists). This job sounds nice but an radiologic technologist still sounds better. The next job I came across that I was curious about was a nuclear medicine technologist. People in this career most times have to get a bachelors degree and have a slightly higher salary. Nuclear medicine technology is not about bones and the human body, which is what I’m interested in. This career involves more knowledge, diagnostics, and radiation therapy of the blood, cells, fat and muscles (Nuclear Medicine Technologist). Both of these careers would be more striking if I wanted to broaden my radiologic technologist career. Even after my research of a radiologic technologist, I have still do not have a great idea of what I want to be when I get out of high school. Radiologic technology has proven to me it is a very interesting field with a lot of room for growth but I’m still not totally convinced that this is the job for me. its an i-search paper, i am supposed to use 'I".

CNA>NT>LPN>RN> ......? How realistic is my plan? Any ideas to refine my plan to make it flow? This is my current career track, I made it on my own. My goal is to get a realistic grasp of how to pursue my interest and get a *fluid* career path that embraces my needs, personality and interest even if that means going back to square one ( I need a ABC instructions plain simple and to the point to stay on track)
Wanna help me make a major life decision? Well. I suppose I should begin by giving myself a bit of an introduction. I'm Ben. I'm about to be a senior in high school. Sorta. I'm a middle-class Asian-American. I was adopted from Korea by white people when I was a baby. I have hand deformities. I like tacos, music, and people. I play the guitar, drums, and trombone. I'm not sure what to do with my life. In fact, I'm so desperate for answers, I'm turning to the good people of the Internets for help. I'm in grave danger of not graduating on time. Last year, my junior year, I decided that I would do the IB Full Diploma program. It was, hands down, the worst decision of my high school career. I failed four classes. Needless to say, I'm not sticking with it. Depending on my ability to regain those lost credits, I may or may not graduate high school next year. But when/if I graduate from high school: college. My parents have me in the MET (Michigan Education Trust). If you know what that is, great. If you don't, let's just say that as long as I go to a school in Michigan, I'm financially set. But because I've messed up high school so badly, I don't know if I'll be able to get into college. Even if I do, I'm probably going to continue to be a monotonous source of failure and disappointment. So what to do, right? Two of my friends and I have been talking recently of just saying "to hell with college" and go traveling the world, country-hopping. Why not? I'm not going to reach my childhood aspirations of becoming a famous and successful musician anyway. As Tyler Durden once said, "We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't." It might just be the way I've grown up, but the cynical realism is hitting me like a train. So why not just say "screw it all?" We're only provided so many years to live, so why not use them to go out and explore the rest of this huge and beautiful Earth instead of staying here, rotting, enslaved to a white collar and a desk? Maybe I could go teach English to a bunch of children in some village in a foreign country. I don't know, guys. Give me your opinions. Or just write me off as a rambling seventeen year-old that doesn't know what he's talking about. All this my-life-sucks, I-don't-wanna-go-to-college, I-feel-trapped-here bullsh*t is probably just a result of my stereotypical teenage angst. I just don't know what to do right now. I'm scared and confused. Please help me.
please critically evaluate my statement of purpose.? Guys please help me make my SOP better. critically analyse it and tell me where i need to improve and what more i need to add. this is my first copy and i know that i need to make lots of corrections.everytime i look up on a successful SOP i feel like mine is total crap..so evaluate my sop and let me know. thank u all...:) STATEMENT OF PURPOSE I am applying for admission to the M.Sc. program in International Relations because I want to understand and interpret the complex political and cultural issues in this ever changing world. I want to explore the causes and effects of current and future human interactions. I understand that the study of international relations requires the ability to research and analyse information from a wide variety of sources. I am also aware of the fact that IR students should develop skills in problem-solving and the ability to weigh arguments and to sift material. I wish to be trained at these and more in your esteemed institution and enhance myself for a career in the field of journalism as I am particularly interested in reporting and writing effectual analytical stories on key international issues that alter the world. In order to do so I require an extensive understanding of this large complex world as this has obvious implications in real life too. When at school, I had enrolled myself at a ‘Journalism Club’ and often participated in heated debates and discussions on a variety of international issues and current affairs. That was the starting point when I truly fell in love with current affairs. I chose Journalism at my undergraduate level and studied a wide variety of subjects and learnt the nuances of reporting and writing. I feel my education suits this field very well. I have a Bachelor of Arts in journalism with a specialization in international Relations. My interest for the subject in particular began during my third year at university when I had international Relations as a part of my academic program. Some of my best days in the college were spent reading up on key issues and discussing them with teachers and friends. My favourite topics of discussions often included Indo-Pak relations, Indo-US relations, China as an emerging super power, Terrorism, Diplomacy, international Trade, Economy etc. It was then I recognized that I had an inclination towards pursuing IR. This was in fact my passion as I loved to keep a track of current affairs and global situations through reading and by watching various news channels. The course gave me a broad idea on the subject and evinced immense interest and curiosity to learn more. Now, I wish to channelise my interest and intensify my knowledge and understanding at RSIS. I attended an address by US secretary of state Hillary Clinton in her maiden visit to Chennai as a part of her three day visit to India for the second round of strategic dialogues between the two nations. In her highly diplomatic speech, she spoke about India’s rapidly growing economy and the dominant role India would be playing soon. It was a wonderful opportunity to listen to her speech amidst high profile VIP’s and a small number of chosen students. I also attended a seminar pertaining to IR held at Stella Maris College, Chennai on the topic Indo-US relations. The chief guest for the seminar was Maxwell Hamilton, Foreign Service officer from the state of US. He discussed on a variety of issues like the complex play between the two nations, the future prospects, strategic role in defense, the cultural ties etc. The theories and approaches taken to the study of politics and international relations at your prestigious university are extremely diverse. I wish to do a lot of qualitative research in this field of study. I am particularly impressed by certain research topics that were taken up by the professors at your university. To name one such person, Dr.Rohan Gunaratna, the terrorism expert. His popular paper ‘Techniques and suicide terrorism’ was remarkable. His meticulous writing, investigative style and interpretation of acute details are worth a mention. The high profile faculty members of RSIS will be challenging and a competitive environment will bring the best out me. I am looking forward to interact with talented students, teachers and industry professionals and live in a collaborative environment.
Corrections and reading proof please! 10 points? Today’s speaker was Captain Bob Cody. Captain Cody joined the Mercer County Community College Aviation Program in late 1970s he graduated the program in 1982, then he start working as flight instructor at Ronson Aviation. After long period of time from hard work and determination Capitan Cody started flying charter flights out of North Philadelphia as his second step in the career. He didn’t continue to pursue his four years degree and earned his associate degree. He also gave us word of advice by completing the four years degree since the aviation industries looking for graduates with bachelor degree due to the high competition. Captain Cody was lucky to get a job interview with Johnson and Johnson; he had 4000 total flight hours before join the Johnson and Johnson. He went to through all ranks at the aviation department during his career with Johnson and Johnson with out been furlough for the past twenty two years he worked there even when the aviation industry went into some ups and downs , specially with the economy in turmoil. Today Captain Cody still hired with Johnson and Johnson and have over 10,000 total flight time, he train most of new pilots that joining the company for the first time on the cooperate Gulfstream jets. Most of time Capitan Cody flies domestic and some time he flies to overseas. Captain Cody have tremendous amount of years of experience in mainly Gulfstream jets , he has experience in five different corporate jet and three different Gulfstream jets .From his experience was able to show us one of the most highest technology that Gulfstream jets reach in Synthetic Vision technology and Enhanced Vision System (EVS) technology . I wasn’t and still not interested in corporate aviation for one main reason , as a future pilot I would like to be able to travel around the world , with corporate aviation I wouldn't be able to get that advantage also because of the limitation in flying hours compare to airlines pilots flying hours. Also as one of my goals to get my rate type in Airbus or Boeing which is bigger aircraft, I don’t see that opportunity with corporate available widely like the airlines. but in the positive side I can see the stability that the corporate aviation give to their pilots from stable social life style to better benefits, and they let their pilots get their hands on better and high technology enhancements to their airplanes, because the corporate can afford it where the airlines want to cut back on such stuff to save money. In the end, everybody is different in every way .I love challenging life style, exploring new things and flying day and night, I can see real joy in it. But others don’t.
please edit my college app essay? “On the plane there and back you will be held responsible for holding your passport and boarding pass...” All this independence and responsibility never crossed my mind when I signed up for this program; the excitement of traveling to Europe for the first time was the only thing on my mind. At sixteen years old there was nothing more I wanted than to have the freedom that my parents wouldn’t give me. I had first heard about the French Exchange Program when I was a freshman and was ecstatic to learn that I would be traveling abroad without my parents for two whole weeks. I was obsessed with the thought that I could trade my nagging mother for a new one for two weeks. All I wanted was to travel to the country that I had been learning about for five years and embrace its culture. Never in a million years would I have thought traveling to France would be an exhaustive experience; I just wanted to have fun in my favorite country. From the moment we got on the plane, our adventure began. Our days consisted of exploring all that the south of France had to offer. Walking up to five miles a day around the Palais de Papes and having our goûter at the various cafés were just a small part of the whole experience. There was barely any time to rest let alone think. There was always something going on during my two week stay and I was constantly in a whirlwind of my emotions. Our days ended with just enough time for dinner with our host families. After the first few days, when the jet-lag wore off, I came to the realization that my only form of communication was to speak a foreign language that I had only been practicing for a few years. My host family’s strong accents were a little difficult to decipher at first and communicating with basic sentences was a challenge. Communicating wasn’t an easy task; I had to comprehend their french, translate in my head, think of a response, and respond in french. The whole process, day after day, took a lot out of me. Throughout those two weeks I pushed myself to my limits, places I had never dared to venture before and possessed qualities I didn’t even know I had. As exhausting as it was, I learned many things from this experience that calling it highly rewarding would be an understatement. I feel as though I have matured in two short weeks than I ever could have in my whole high school career. My whole life I depended on my parents to handle my responsibilities for me. I was never the one to check the train schedule or go to the bank to exchange money; I always had someone there. I did most, if not all, things independently in France which would not have happened if I never traveled abroad. I learned that being dependant only leads to difficulties and independence leads to manageability. I now am fully aware on the amount of independence it takes to be on my own and feel that this experience has readied me for my future.
What do you think of my college admissions essay? I have always had a fascination with the city of New York, spending many days of my youth exploring its bustling streets, dazzled by the glitzy arrays of lights, sights, sounds and people. As I step off the the 7 subway train I've been riding for years, I look up at all the vibrant billboards in Times Square and see not just advertisements, but elaborate works of commercial art, intricately designed in order to gain the right consumer's attention. I look at them and dream of how one day, I may be part of the process. Like many FIT students, I discovered my creative abilities at an early age. For years, I've enjoyed drawing and writing, and in my free time today, I design and edit on Photoshop and on Polyvore.com, as well work on my own blog. Academically, I had always received high marks in art, English and the social sciences. After I graduated high school, however, I was utterly clueless as to what major to pursue. I knew that I eventually wanted a career that would provide a creative challenge; one where I could utilize my imagination as well as my academic strengths. Thus, I spent two years at my local community college, taking various liberal arts courses. Little did I know, I would find my inspiration not in class, but in my daily life. While attending college, I worked as a server in several restaurants part-time. To me, serving was not just carrying plates of food back and forth to a table. To be a successful server, one had to perfect a specific set of skills. Each night, when the 6pm dinner rush hit, I had taught myself how to remain calm and focused while multi-tasking under pressure. In many of the restaurants, management would often encourage the waitstaff to “up-sell”. This meant, in order to boost revenue, I was to promote specials and suggest appetizers, deserts and bottles of wine. I carefully crafted my technique over time. I made sure I was personable and warm, all the while being subtly persuasive, adjusting my approach to the preferences of different personality types. Each time I'd go up to a table, I'd have invented different sales pitch. I loved talking to customers, and my managers loved me. I knew I had a wonderful work ethic, superior organizational skills and could communicate persuasively to the public. It occurred to me: If I could be a successful server selling food, what else could I sell? It became all the more clear to me when one day last winter, my mother approached me worriedly. My parents have owned a successful electronic repair shop in Brooklyn for the past 15 years. However, now that the price of brand-new electronics is often lower than price of repairing them, business had been in somewhat of a slump. My suggestion? Advertising and Promotion! In my opinion, Greenpoint, being the up and coming, trendy neighborhood it is, had hundreds of potential customers just around the corner, just waiting to be lured in. My parents agreed. It was decided that we would place an advertisement in the local paper, designed by me. Over the course of two days, I got to work on Photoshop and designed the most flawless advertisement I could, with a modern logo, graphics, and clear address and contact information. After that, it was on to social media sites. I set up a Facebook page, added business information on Yelp.com, even placed ads on Craigslist and E-bay selling old electronic parts. As a result, business increased, with a younger demographic visiting to have their guitar amps and turn tables repaired. Needless to say, my parents were grateful for the extra exposure and revenue I had brought in. Again, the light bulb went off: if I can do this, what other businesses could I promote and advertise? Advertising major. I typed these two words into Google and soon came across the FIT website, finding the Advertising and Marketing Communications program. I was immediately intrigued by the description of the major and offering of classes. After extensive research, and through my own life experiences, I am confident I will succeed in this program. In addition to being highly imaginative and analytical, and having effective persuasive abilities, I know I will work and collaborate well with others and the public. I want to be able to go on and complete my BA with FIT so I can gain the best education possible to prepare myself for a real life career in the Advertising field. In five years time, I envision myself as a Advertising manager, generating creative ideas for campaigns, and overseeing a creative staff. Or, possi Or, possibly a Public Relations manager, writing press releases and sponsoring corporate events. Being guided by the faculty of practicing professionals at FIT, I know I will be guided in the right direction, towards the best internships NYC has to offer. I believe I have demonstrated the strong passion and potential that you require of your students. Now, all I ask of you, FIT, is the opportunity to pursue the career I was made for. Please refrain from answering this question if you are under 13 years old (Michael)
Am I too old to train to be a vet? I am not a school leaver, I am 25-years-old and already have a BA in English and History of Art and an MA in Journalism. After a brief career as a journalist, I have decided that I want something of a career change! I keep horses and am considering opening a livery yard since I have the land and considerable working experience with horses (and dogs!) My academic attainment in other fields of interest are very high, but obviously I am well aware I would need to take sciences again for Alevels. I am exploring the possibility of enrolling in a learn from home program and doing Biology and Chemistry. I have Alevels and ASLevels in Art, English and Information and Communication Technology (quite different disciplines from the sciences, I know!) I have grades BB in Double Award Science at GCSE level and grade C in Mathematics. Does it seem out of the realm of possibility that I could pursue this as a career? Am I too old? I do believe I'm considerably smarter now than I was when I was in high school -- plus my concentration span has improved! Thanks for reading...
