Career Training School Commercials? Hello there, why do those career training schools bombard the local TV stations with ads in the mornings and at night? I mean I know that's when people should be at work...so theoreticaly its a good time to advertise. But they must dump alot of money into their advertising campaigns because they're on every 10 minutes. Why show the same commercial so many times?! (same goes for lawyer commercials)

Decent "short training/schooling time" Career Paths? What are some career paths that earn at least a decent salary that DO NOT require going to a 4 year school, or even taking "core" classes. I'm speaking of careers where you get hands-on training and doesnt take that long to complete. Thanks.

Why would you oppose to majors/ career training in high school? Please state why.? I'm doing an persuasive essay on how majors/career training should be available in all high schools. So far everyone agrees with me and I need some opinions from the opposing side so that I can come up with solutions to please both sides of the fence. I already have 2 opinions from the opposing side and they are: it's to expensive and teens cant make up their minds. Students would still have to take basic classes such as math, English, history, and science. Just because people choose different majors does not mean they can't be friends with people out side their majors.

I think it's American but would someone be able to explain it to me. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

When should I apply for financial aid for a career training school? I am taking an entry test on Monday for a career training school fast track program. If I pass the test, which I know I will, the total cost of tuition is required to be paid to hold my place. I don't HAVE to pay it then, but I might not be able to get enrolled in the class if I don't pay in full. (class only holds 10 people and 5 are already signed up). The cost is $1660. Do I apply for financial aid now? Do I wait until I take the entry test? Are there any federal grants for this? What happens in the case that I do apply now, before I take the test, I get approved, but I fail the test. Do I still have to get the money and pay it back even though I can't use it?

Career training loans, bad credit, cosigners, sahms...Help? I am a stay-at-home mom wanting to go to school as a Medical Assistant. The school recommends a career training loan through Sallie Mae. It's a fairly small loan, just $2,400. The school told me, for this program, I cannot get regular financial assistance, like applying for FAFSA. Since I don't have a job, my first obvious choice for a cosigner would be my husband, but I'm not completely sure that we would qualify for the loan considering our financial background. My second choice would be my parents, who live on the other side of the country (though I'd prefer to do this without them). Would I be able to apply with my husband first, then if I don't qualify, apply again with my parents? What would be the best approach for my situation? I have already contacted Sallie Mae but cannot get a real person to speak with. I have also contacted the school, but they can't give me any definite answers. Thanks for your help!
