5 year program engineering degree plus masters in business? should i do the 5 year program at rutgers that gets me an engineering degree plus masters in business OR should i just do 4 years at rutgers for an engineering degree and then go to a better graduate school later and risk being there for 2 years instead of 1 and also paying more money (since it would cost more than at rutgers)
How do french-system degrees compare to degrees in the american system? Im trying to help someone with their resume for the USA and I am confused about the educational credentials. It seems that the french have something called a BAC and a FAC, Im assuming (but Im double checking) that completion of a BAC is equivalent to having and american bachelors degree. If that is the case, if someone has a BAC+3 is that a masters degree plus an extra year??
should i get a masters degree in nursing? the college that i'm looking at offers a masters degree plus the bachelors in 5 years as opposed to 6. what are the benefits of having a masters degree in nursing. and, after the bachelors degree is complete, and if i decide to go on for the extra year, will i be able to get a job as a nurse and still go to school or does becoming a nurse start after i finish the masters? thanks! :D
will earning 2 masters degrees make me more valuable for a career in student affairs/higher education? I am completing a masters in post secondary education now but i didnt have any graduate assistanships or internships because it was distance learning. I feel that I should go back and earn a second degree in student affairs counceling to be able to secure a entry level higher education job after graduation. The second degree includes two internships and a graduate assistanship. Also I could become certified as a councelor, which is something my first masters doesnt offer. What do you think, does it really matter about the graduate experience or will my related experiences in undergrad plus my first masters be enough to secure an entry level job in student affairs?
PGCE plus MAsters programme in Educational Psychology? I finished my 3 year degree (triple major in French, Anthropolopgy and Sociology) My fourth year at uni I did an honours degree in Sociology. I am now on a gap year, got a CELTA diploma and have taken a year out teaching English as a foreign language. I really enjoy teaching and may want to do the PGCE plus Masters programme (in Educational Psychology). Does anyone know anything about this? Would really appreciate any feedback!
What should I wear for the start of Grad School tomorrow? I am starting grad school tomorrow and am very, very nervous! I want to wear something that makes me feel confident. Problem is, I'm not really sure what people wear to masters degree classes. Plus, it's going to be 71 degrees and raining! Does anyone have any suggestions for an outfit to wear? Thanks!
is a phd really worth it or should I just get a master degree? Im going to study marketing and managment or marketing and finance in UNC (just for my first 4 years bacheler) and then probably to Uchicago but I wondering should I do my masters degree plus a Phd or not, Im not sure is the phd is worth it, I mean 8 years of education?? really? is the phd so good or it would make much of a difference?? How can I get MBA in a new business school after I graduated in Masters degree of Computer Science? I just graduated in MS of Computer Science from DigiPen (Institute of Technology). I decided that I want to do Masters Degree in Business Administration. Would it be difficult for me to enter a business school, knowing that I am Masters in CS graduate? or easier? Plus, I am looking for a business school that is really good in commerce and international business to do there my MBA, which one do you recommend for me? (I don't wanna pay more than 14,000$ as tuition) If I have a GPA in BS of Computer Science B- and a GPA in MS of Computer Science A-, would I get financial aid in MBA of the new business school that I will join? Help me!
Does undergrad GPA matter if I have a masters degree? My undergrad GPA wasn't great (about 2.8) but I have since gotten a masters degree and graduated with a 3.7 GPA plus lots of work experience and great recommendations. Will employers be more inclined to take my recent success into account or will the undergrad GPA still hurt me a lot?
What would be a good Masters Degree to pursue online? I am in the insurance business as a sales representative, and I have a Bachelors degree in Economics. I want to go back to school to pursue a Masters, but I'm not sure in what discipline. Plus, I need to do this online, as I am a busy professional. I've gone back and forth with a Masters in Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, etc. Please advise.
Do Turner Broadcasting actually hire from their online database or do they only consider applicants they know.? I have a friend that has been applying to turner broadcasting company for the last few months and she has not been consider for not one of the positions. She has a bachelors and masters degree plus four years experience in the field in which she applied. I just think Turner Broadcasting only hire applicants they hear about word of mouth. I told her to contact EEO. If it's true that's called nephewtism and it's illegal. Do any of you know of anything?
Getting my masters or another bachelor's degree? I have my Bachelor's of Arts but now am looking into nursing. I have two options: 1) An accelerated program for people with degrees that are in non-nurisng fields. I basically would get another Bachelor's Degree (A B.S. in nursing) in 15 months. 2) An acclerated Masters/BSN program. I would "kill two birds with one stone" here by getting another degree plus my masters. This would take 2-3 years. The problem is I have not worked in the nursing field yet & am not sure what to master in. So, although it's a good oppurtunity, I'm not sure if I should go that far yet. Any suggestions? Should I just get another Bachelor's or go ahead and get a masters, even though I'm not certain what to specifiy in?
For teachers with master's degrees did you advance in position if you wanted to and did your pay raise signifi I am guessing that with a bachelor's degree in education you can only teach and maybe move up in position after many, many years. But I have heard that this is different for teachers with masters degrees. I have heard that you can move up to counselor and principal within 2-3 years, plus it is said that if you keep teaching with a master's your pay raises a lot. Is all of this true? And can anyone tell me about the master's degrees in education and the different types and how long it would take? I am asking all of this because I am thinking about majoring in secondary education, but I do not know if I would get a master's degree or not afterward, is it worth it financially? I would appreciate any responses concerning this question and anything about the field of education and advancement in it.
Is 9000SR salary fair for a masters graduate in Saudi? Hi, I've been offered with a therapist position in Saudi. It comes with 9000SR/month salary, plus housing, transportation, medical, and airfare. I hold a masters degree obtained in a Western country though I am an Asian. I was wondering if this package looks good or there is room for more.
I am looking for a small town anywhere in the US? I am planning on moving and would like to find a friendly community with well paying jobs for school teachers with master degrees. Big plus if near a Seventh Day Adventist high school, also would like home prices under 250K. Any suggestions?
Information on getting work visas in UK? Does anyone know some exact jobs that are needed in UK, that would allow me to work in UK? Preferably medical field. Or international relations possibly. I will have masters degree plus yrs of experience
How many degrees would you be satisfied with? I have a degree in criminal justice and philosophy. I am thinking of going back and getting a degree in history. The only thing I wonder if it is too much. I know I need to start my master's, however, I only need one or two classes to finish off the history degree. Plus, I feel like I would never come to an ultimate stopping point in my formal education. DRAGON 2008 "I BELIEVE IN U.S."
Does it make sense to get a Masters degree in Biology? I'm having a life crisis. I majored in Biology, now I'm working. I thought about applying to PhD programs, but it seems really long and daunting, plus I don't think I have the right personality for it (ambition, desire to lead, etc). Then I thought about Masters, but it doesn't seem like that opens up any additional job opportunities that you couldn't get with just a Bachelors. Any advise?
Which would you take and why; a 60K job or a Masters degree? I got a job offer for 60K/yr as a logistics analyst in south NJ. I had been laid off 6 mos. back, but after looking for work for a while I kinda gave up and got myself admitted into the Masters in Accounting program at UT Austin. Now after 1 month into my new program one of the companies I had interviewed 40 days back finally offerre me 60K for a job. I really like Austin and and doing OK in the accounting program. I feel that if I was in a finance/ accounting to begin with I wouldnt have to wait for so long to get another job. SO what do you all think...should I continue in the accounting masters or take up the job? I have substantial scholarships for the MAcc program plus its Austin, so thats a big draw. On the other hand the salary is 60K. WHich would be better in the long run?
MBA plus a Masters in Economics? I am 24 and working full time as a financial analyst. I have been looking into getting both a master's in econ and an MBA. I figure I could get a master's in econ in the next 2 1/2 years, while working full time, and then begin my MBA, possibly management or finance. The master’s would come from a very reputable private college and then I would have to make the decision to either go full time for the MBA, and look into out of state institutions, or go part time to my state university.. Does this make sense? I would complete both degrees by the time I was 31. Along with that my career path would allow me to potentially enter and complete a 3 year Financial Development Program shortly after completing the master’s. Any advice on whether the two degrees would make a difference compared to just getting one would help. I see my career continuing in finance, either in investments, corporate finance, or business development (i.e. Corp M&A)
how much this online education is worth in USA, i want to get a masters degree online? how much this online education is worth in USA, i want to get a masters degree online? but im not sure that will this degree be helpfull to get me any employment in future, and is it anyhow competetive to onsit or traditional eduacation? because u dont get any fee assistance and other facilities as well...the only plus is that you dont have to go for GRE..
About to start a masters in public administration, is there a high demand for this field? Im about to start masters program in florida in Public administration, and would like some feedback on the job outlook for it. I have done some research and only found limited information. So i figured it try and see if any recent graduates, or past graduates recieved this degree, or know anyone who who has one. What is the job outlook, where can i find employment, and what are my chances with business experiance, of 2-3 years plus a masters degree. If anyone have any helpful advice they wouldnt mind sharing I would greatly appreciate it. Deciding between two programs, and want to make sure i make the right choice, and thank you again!

Masters of Liberal Arts? The university I plan on going to has this Master of Liberal Arts program, I looked into it, and it seemed like a really good program. I plan on being a high school history teacher, and I keep reading that people who have their MLA often go into education. What kind of job can someone with their MLA get, besides education? (I'm just curious). Should I look more into getting in this program? Or should I just get a Master's in Education? The only reason why I am looking into Master degree programs is because teachers who have their Master's degree get 12% more than a teacher who has just their Bachelor's degree. Plus, it looks good on a resume.
Is a masters degree not worth it's price? what does a masters degree cost at a four year university?? over 35,000??? plus five years of your life... are you going to make signifigantly more, that 35,000 figure is probably a low ball.
Teacher Salary... Masters +15, etc.? This confuses me a bit, I understand if you have a Master's degree plus 15 hours in most states the pay increase, but what do these plus hours need to be in?
What are the best jobs for a business degree in the Navy? I want to pick a job that will give me experience in business or financing, which would make my resume look better to companies or schools. Eventually I want to be an office administrator or something similar. What job would give me the best experience for that when I get out in 4 years? This experience plus a Bachelors or Masters degree should make me more competetive in the job hunt when I get out.
What kind of money will I make with my educational background? Technically my educational background will be this: 4 year degree management, medical office associates, medical office management associates and general business Associates. I know that having 3 Associates degrees does not mean I will make more. I am basically just asking about the medical office AS and management BA OR BS..whatever it is called. I wanna be a medical office man anger. I doubt I will ever get a masters degree. I am not smart enough, plus I will have about 200 credits...which is over 6 years of school.
What grants/scholarships are available for mothers? I started my AA several years ago but I stopped attending college when I got married and had children. Now, at 25, I am ready to go back. I am just 3 months away from completing my AA degree and would like to continue on to get my Bachelors and Masters degrees. Unfortunately, the cost of college plus books is substantial and I'd like to know if there are any grants or scholarships available to married mothers (ie not single mothers).
Is an American Bachelors equivalent to an Australian Masters degree? For instance, in the US a 4 year bachelors in enough for a PhD program. That's the entry requirement. A 3 year bachelors won't cut it. In Australia they also demand the 4 year bachelors or the Masters in addition. Does that mean the American degree is pretty much equivalent to a 3 year bachelors in Austrlia PLUS the Masters? I'm trying to see where I stand with my bachelors from the States. I know how it is in the States, but would like to know how it is in Australia.
Part time job for a masters student, with two bachelors degrees? I made a huge mistake accepting this PhD program seat. I hate the research here. It is causing me so much stress. The problem is, the school, provides me health insurance, a 18,000$ stipend and tuition coverage (~3,000$). I have decided I am done with the PhD program and am going to transition into the "non thesis masters program". Essentially the ONLY difference, right now, is that, I have to do rotations in labs. Non thesis masters students do not have to do rotations. Things begin to change next year (or maybe over the summer, I don't know). I already talked to the PhD program director and he said it isn't that big of a deal for me to drop down to masters, and if I didn't like the research I could go non thesis. He said I stand a chance at losing significant stipend support (but it felt like he was referring to next year). Non thesis masters students are not considered for assistantships. As a PhD student, when I came into the program, I was offered a GTA (Teaching assistant) assistantship. I accepted it, and was assigned several classes, that I spend around 20 hours a week in teaching. I do not know if they will or will not take it away if I go non thesis. I know it wont be renewed next year. But yeah, the non thesis masters students and I (in the PhD program) take all the same classes the first year. Non thesis maters students have to take additional classes in the second year. I hate the research and want to go masters student. I enjoy the classes. The research is turning my stomach. I am going to end up having to quit one of my rotations and switch mid semester. Because there is a chance at losing my stipend, I am going to get a job before I tell the program director I want to switch out. The transition is not the problem. I have to make it. The problem is, I lose my support next year, and I risk the chance at losing my support for the remainder of this year. Granted, my "obligation" is to "teach" not do rotations, I might keep it, but I don't know. I need to find a job before I drop. I would really like to be switched officially and out of the rotation cycle by November 30th. That being said, I need to find a job by November 30th. I am not sure how it is going to go down, if I don't get a job. I will probably keep my assistant ship until January as they would have to find a new teacher for 3 different classes. That is, I will keep my pay check till January. At what point, I get my 9,500$ student loan, which should last me till summer, at which point I can get a grad plus loan, if all else fails. I am throwing myself under a huge buss by doing this, but I think it's better for the long run. The stress of the rotation and research (which I hate) is killing me. Any suggestions of what kind of part time job I could look for? I live in a big city (I am actually at the University of Pennsylvania right now) so most of the options are out there, whether or not they are available is another question. I have a bachelors degree in Biology (can't see it being any use in anything but research ARGH!!!) and a bachelors degree in Psychology. I also have minors in Chemistry and Physics. I have volunteered in Hospitals. I tutored for 3 years. I taught for one semester here. I had no job in college except as a lab manager (Go figure right...). In high school I worked at game stop for at least a year. I don't remember exactly. I don't have a lot of experience... I want something in the health field. I am going to try to go to medical school. I am not sure... Any suggestions? I still need to pay my bills, so I need to make around 18+k a year ARGH!
I have a BA in Psych and want to get my Masters.? I want to work with kids that are at risk and with other community programs. Should I pursue a masters degree in mental health counseling or social work? Finding an on line program would be a major plus. I welcome all suggestions. At this time, I am only able to pursue the Master's degree.
do I get a phd or not? Where do you want to go to college and why? Just Curious:) I want to go to John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. I can major in Forensic Science and I hope to get a master's degree. Plus it is in New York! I love that place more and more each time I visit.
How long would it take me to double major in psychology and criminal justice? How long would it take me to receive a masters degree in criminal justice and criminal psychology, if I double major. Plus what jobs might I be able to have with those two degrees (I somewhat want to be a detective or those who interrogate the suspects) I asked if I also received a Masters in Criminal Psychology not a BA and I'm barely in high school, I want to know how long it will take me to receive both Masters degree if I double major
How would you respond (believe is was discrimination).? Last night I went to nameless pizza place to pick up an order I placed online (from my online account)...I came a little early to pick it up and and noticed it was ready (even tho I had requested it to be made for a specific time. I asked the clerk how long it had been sitting there. He said two minutes, but I believe he was lying. My total was appox $10 and I handed him my CC. He looked at me again, and asked for ID (I have never been asked for ID before in this place and keep in mind, I ordered this from an online account (with my name, addy, etc. all accessible which matched my CC name). I had not brought my purse in, but bcs I felt he was perhaps picking on me, I said "since when" he said, "since always"...I noticed another employee (also a person of color) watching the exchange. So, I asked for my card back, and went to my car for the license. It so happens the person of color employee walked out then too to make a delivery so I asked him "do they always ask for ID?" he told me "no, just for ppl like you or me"...confirming my suspicion. So, I grabbed my ID, went in, showed it to the clerk, and told him no thanks on the pizza, as I believed his behavior was racist and I left. I asked another employee for management contact info. Of course, I will not be able to get in touch with management until Monday...still, I am upset NOW. I am a female of color, educated (masters degree plus), I speak properly, dress right, own 2 homes and drive a nice car...I can't for the life of me understand why he picked on me like that, but there is a small part of me wondering if I handled it right. Thoughts?
How many captains and battalion chiefs in FDNY? I have heard the argument that $250,000/year can be earned by a firefighter married to a schoolteacher in NYC, which appears to be true if the teacher is at the highest pay level (requires masters degree plus 30 more credits and 22 years teaching experience), and the firefighter is a captain or a battalion chief. Now I am wondering about the odds. I can guess that the % of teachers that reach that pay level is pretty low, but I have no idea how many FDNY firefighters this would include. Any info on either question would be appreciated. Salary data: http://schools.nyc.gov/TeachNYC/salary/default.htm http://www.nyc.gov/html/fdny/html/community/ff_salary_benefits_080106.shtml
Obtaining my Masters Degree in Japan? I don't really want to know too muchon how to obtain it, just more on whether it's worth it or not. I am planning no majoring in Computer Engineering and minoring in Japanese to get my 4-yr. Bachelors Degree here in America. Obviously it's a long and complicated process, but it's one I'm willing to participate in. I once heard from a native Japanese that Masters Degrees are frowned upon in Japan, so contrary to America, having one won't do you much good if at all. I do plan on becoming fluent in my 4 years of undergrad Japanese classes plus my 2 years of grad school, along with what I have taught myself in highschool. That's not my issue. I am just not sure how much all of this work will benefit me. Japan is renowned for their technological works, being years ahead of us, and I am planning on pursuing Computer Software Engineering, so I figured it would benefit my specific field greatly. Will it help or hurt me more in the end?
Will I have to get separate Master degrees? What are the steps to take to do this? I want to be an early childhood education teacher and I am working on my BA currently. I am thinking about being a child psychologist on the side to bring in more income for myself too. I am minoring in English and I am still debating minoring in psychology too. At my university to minor in psychology, a total of 6 psychology courses must be taken. Not bad.So I am taking this 2nd course in psychology. I want to earn my Masters in early childhood education and my PhD in early childhood education. I was told by my psychology teacher that I have to have a Masters to practice psychology. So how do I go about getting a Masters in both early childhood education and psychology? Will I have to earn 2 separate Masters degrees and 2 separate PhDs? I know I can start teaching after I earn my BA. But how do I go about becoming a psychologist on the side to bring in more income?Plus I like psychology too.
Paying for your Masters Degree? When a 22 yo sets out to begin their masters degree, how does he go about paying for the tuition, plus an apartment, living expenses and everything else. Trying to obtain a masters degree in music education/performance is hard enough, to try and hold down outside employement would make it almost impossible. There is no money from the family to help pay for any of the expenses either. Of course scholarships have been applied for, but they are few and far between for musicians. Thanks for anyone who has done this and has any pointers on the subject.
In which country in Europe can a US citizen get a job easily? I am a US citizen, would like to move to Europe to live for a while. I have ten years experience in the Industrial Hygiene field, plus a Masters of Science degree. My problem is that it appears very difficult to get a job in Europe. I am not too choosy, I would just like to live in Europe for a while. In which country would it be simplist for me to get a job and what type of job. Thanks for your answers!
What are my chances of actually getting a skilled workers visa? I've checked into a little bit and meet the qualifications. I'm 40, I have a Masters Degree in computer science. I have 10 + plus years work experience in C++. 2 years in Java, Oracle & Networking. I have .net & visual basic but those skills are not on the list. I'm single with grown kids that will not be coming. I don't want to migrate just work a few years.

Are 18 extra hours required beyond a Masters Degree to be able to teach as a college professor? I am getting ready to finish my Masters Degree in Special Education, LBD. I already have a Rank II, plus certification in the same field. My ultimate goal & dream is to someday get a PhD, however, I wish to start teaching at a college, part time for a start. When I look at the job requirements in some of the job postings, most of them read "Applicants must have a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in their teaching field." Does this mean 18 extra hours beyond what I already have? Or, does this mean that 18 hours of what I've already gotten had to have been in my field, which is special education, LBD?
Would this be a plus for Med schools ? I'm a non-US Bioengineering student and I know that with 3.6 GPA I can't enter a top med school let alone getting a scholarship. Would getting 1 or 2 Master's Degrees in either US or UK -with extreme grades of course- help with entrance to top med schools like Johns Hopkins or UPenn with scholarship ? Thanks.
California College San Diego is useless? one of those colleges you get a "BA or BS" in 16 months. Anyone heard of this place?!? I just don't understand why would someone want to go to this school when there are so many legit Universities where you can get a legitimate 4 year degree plus a masters and get a chance to apply to graduate school. Who agrees/disagrees!!?
Is a masters degree in counseling (psychology) worth the risk of being stuck with student loan debt? I am half finished earning an AA degree. I am a straight A student with a good deal of self discipline and self-determination. I want to earn an BA in psychology from USF and then a Masters in counseling at a California university to become either a Mental health counselor or a Marriage and Family counselor. I am a first generation student so the deadlines and processes can be daunting at times. I filled out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and have received a full Pell Grant ($5,300) plus a Florida Medallion scholarship for my progress in high school (100% tuition at community college, 75% state university until I earn a BA). So, I am pretty sure that I will be able to afford a BA, but I am not so sure about being able to afford a MA. Just the cost of attendance for graduate school is much more than I could make in a year even if I could find a job. Is it possible to get enough scholarships to fund an MA without any student loans? I hear of a lot of people who have earned masters who cannot pay off their student loans because they can not get the job they trained for. All of their hard work in college has lead to low paying jobs and a huge debt. I am afraid of being one of them. I really want to pursue this field. Psychology is basically "my thing". I'm not pursuing this degree for money, but I do want to have a family and be comfortable and be able to support my future childrens' college education. Pursing this field will make me happy but not if I can't support myself let alone a family. I wonder if I should just earn a bachelors in a field with better job security and a better salary. I also wonder if this uncertainty is temporary - if the economy will get better and allow for me to get a job in the field of psychology. I have seen my parents struggle with debt and I know that doing something that interests me isin't worth debt that I won't be able to pay off. So do I sacrifice years of studying and financial stability to become a counselor so I can be satisfied with my work life? or do I sacrifice my interest in psychology for financial stability so that I may be satisfied with my love/family life? Thank you for reading my long, anxiety-attack of a question. I would really appreciate an answer from someone who has been through something similar recently. Because I am a first-gen student I don't know anyone who can help me with this question. Money will not automatically bring satisfaction to my life, but what i've learned through family experience is that satisfaction is not possible if you are constantly struggling to earn a living.
Loan forgiveness teaching at a foreign university or being a law student? Two questions about the loan forgiveness program. I owe about 80,000 with a masters degree. I'm considering taking a teaching job at a major university in China. It pays $650 per month plus free living expenses. Does this count for the 10 years needed for loan forgiveness? And what happens if I go to law school? Do those 3 years count for anything?
masters in human resources management? I am an undergrad majoring in psychology, and I am thinking about pursuing a masters degree in HRM at Purdue university. Is it a good idea to pursue this degree right after undergrad with limited to no work experience related to HR? I don't want to graduate and find out that I a m over qualified..The program states that work experience is not required but a plus..but i don't want to struggle with the job search or be stuck in a generalist position with low salary....also, do you think that a masters in industrial organization (I/O) psych more appropriate for my situation? to sum up.. 1) Is pursuing a masters in HRM right after undergrad with no experience in HR a good idea? 2) If I do, would I find it difficult to find a good job/relevant, with decent salary? or would i have to wait to get exp, until the masters is actually worth something 3) Do u think a masters in I/O psych would be more fitting for my situation? thank you...
Why is unemployment line always too busy? They say the unemployment is only 4% in CA, and going down all the time. Then why does it always say there are more calls then they can handle. I have been looking for work and applied for a customer service position at unemployment and they said I didn't have enough experience. How much experience do you need to look up information on the computer and answer questions. This is pretty simple to me. I have had a few temporary positions doing this. You don't need a Masters Degree for something like this. I could help with the customer service, plus I would have a job! It would be a two-way win-win situation. WHY ARE THEY SOOOO STUBBORN?
A question about university degrees? I heard that people can "double major" while in college/university. So when they graduate they will have two degrees like lets say English and Journalism. So the person will have a Master degree that says that the person majored in two subjects, right? So what is a minor? Is that the Associates Degree? I've heard my friends saying that they want to major in something plus minor in another subject. I don't think this is the "double major". Can anyone explain to me the differences between "double major" and a "minor"? I want to study broadcasting when I go to college. Is there a way for me to double major like take English and journalism and also have a minor in Japanese? I even heard that some people can "triple major". How does that work? Do you stay longer in college/university? Thanks Thanks Diana A. Idk why lol.. I was just curious on why people would triple major. I know that BA is ok.. and Master is like graduate school. right?
PhD vs. Masters in Neuroscience? I am a 3rd year undergraduate student double majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology with a Biology minor. I am interested in going on to graduate school in the field of Neuroscience. Is it worth it to get the PhD or just get a Masters degree? Many jobs require only a Masters, but any graduate student in the schools I am interested in receive a full scholarship plus a decent stipend. I feel like I might as well go for the PhD. Monster.com isn't very helpful when looking for jobs in this field. I want to do research! Is this a high demand area?
Georgia Institute of Technology or Imperial College London for Masters in Mechanical Engineering? I've been an International student in the UK for six years and have just recently (yesterday) been given the degree of bachelor of engineering in mechanical engineering (2:1). I would like to be a chartered engineer some day and for that I need an MS or MSc. I have some jobs lined up for fall but I am having second thoughts of going into employment straight after my undergrad cos it would be hard to leave work to pursue a masters plus my folks are willing to pay for it now. Basically i've been in the UK for six years and a student and I know Imperial College is a great school perhaps better than Georgia Tech but at the same time Georgia Tech is in the U.S.A. and that provides a much needed change of scenery for me. Which school would you go for?
Should I pursue an Masters in Environmental Management? I am very interested in pursuing an MSc in Environmental Management, but was wondering about the marketability of the degree. I know every business, government and NGO is going green but I was wondering just how long this trend would last? Plus, I am living in the States right now but plan to go abroad. Is Environmental Policy or management more discussed in Europe and Asia then in America? Are there more jobs in this field abroad then in the US?
how do I deal with a husband who sometimes trust me and other doesnot plus he is so jealousy , we have kids ? for example when we r going out together he is always jealous around men and he accuses me of looking at other men and makes a big problem out off it , although it is not true ,but at the same time he is not jealous when I go out a lone by myself ,plus he travels alot and I stay alone with my kids for a week without him cause he works in another province and he doesnot have anyproblems with that , but when we r together going shopping or taking the kids somewhere he is always jealous , and he gets really really very angry that sometimes he brake things at home ,and to give u a history of my past , I 've never dated anyone in mylife except him and he knows that and I 've never cheated on him I have 2 kids from him but I don't know how to deal with him anymore and about him he is a very smart man ,he is an engineer with masters degree , he is so successful in his career life , he doesnot drink and he is not that kind of guy who had lots of relationships with women before we got married

What's the fastest way to get your Masters Degree Online? I'm in school right now and taking general ed, plus transfer to CSU courses and at the end of that I would like to get a triple major associates in film/radio and TV. After that I don't want to spend too much time in school but I still want to get up to a masters... but I need to be a undergrad FIRST, what's the fastest way to get my 6 year degree? Ok, i'm not talking about a diploma mill. I'm talking about schools that give you all the required course material and you can work on your own pace, like you can finish all of the class in one week type of thing.
Could I get my masters degree with a 3.3 gpa, a double major in nursing and biology, and an army background? I have a BS in nursing, a BA in biology, and a psychology minor. I just signed up to be a nurse in the national guard - I start next summer, which takes 3 years (so I will have 3 years of war experience in Afghanistan I'm sure), and I really want to get my masters degree in a health-related field. Though I only have a 3.35 gpa and 1 semester of chem, I've taken 40 credits of bio courses (duh - double major) plus 12 credits of psych, a bunch of math, etc. I've also only gotten 1 C in my entire college career - Anatomy and Physiology I. (That seems bad but you should have seen my classmates grades) So - 2 questions actually - What schools are the easiest to get into? I would love to get my doctorate - and I could handle the schooling. Though I only have a 3.3 I worked 40 hours a week so I don't want to hear "it's too hard" and "you shouldn't be working on patients". Since I already was offered a job starting at $57,000 just with my bachelor's degree, I would probably want about $70,000 or more with my master's or doctorate degree, but the number 1 reason I am getting it is so I can have higher job satisfaction. I'm not picky about my profession BUT if I could have any job in the world... it would probably be an epidemiologist - my best courses were in medical microbiology - I LOVED it. Other jobs that I have been keeping my eye on are physician assistants and nurse practitioners (since they are pretty much the same thing - and don't argue with me... they are.) and also Physical Therapy I would LOVE to do. Being a pharmacist is something else I will keep my eye on - good job satisfaction, good pay, and I personally cannot kill my patients. (haha)Everything I want! So - if you can help me by pointing me to the right career direction or the right medical/graduate school that I could actually get into that would be great! Also - I don't like to use this card very often but I am 1/4 Native American and I know sometimes that matters (sad but true)! Thanks! Please only positive remarks - like stated above - no smart@$$ comments. If you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all!
Are salary jobs such as public and private sector jobs hard to get? I recently got out of the Military about 2 months ago and I have been applying for both government and private sector salary jobs. I have many transferable skills plus a bachelor's degree and I find it a long tedious process in getting a job. I can't stand being at home all day applying for job after job. I really can't wait to start working! Thank goodness I am getting unemployment money, but I need to start my career and start earning some bucks. I would like to start a masters degree program once I start working. Any suggestions? Serious only please!!

How do I find jobs in private or public education in Sacramento California area using continuous improvement? I have a math degree; Masters in Ed. Admin.; 20+ years teaching experience from elementary through high school. Have piloted "continuous improvement" study in classroom using W. Edwards Deming ideas and Lee Jenkins' Improving Student Learning. I also think a technical education strand is needed in secondary education in addition to the college-prep route. The possibilities of online learning are of interest since I've worked as a consultant with online math tutoring software plus analyzing state standards and college math textbooks.
Is it hard to get unemployment money if you were fired/laid off? Well last Friday I walk am leaving for the weekend and the boss calls me in. He says that it wasn't working out after a year and 4 months so he said he is letting me go. I asked why and he says, "You just aren't where we wanted you to be." I was studying for my CPA exam (I worked in a CPA office) and his wife did mistakenly blurt out that they were going to hire someone who had a master's degree plus a few CPAs did call looking for work. I was never written up for anything, missed excessive days, was a problem or anything like that. How likely will I be able to get unemployment? How much is it normally?
UAW: Does a janitor deserve 20+/hr plus benefits? Topic says it all. For reference.... Highest paid college graduates with a masters degree earn somewhere around 28-35 per hour. (Excluding MDs and lawyers) But the question is: Does a guy who never invested anything in himself or his career deserve that kind of wage? I know about Wagner. He's as bad as any of them.
Even if you are going to grad school, do you still have to begin paying off your undergraduate loans? I am so confused when it comes to what I have and what needs to be payed and when. I am a Speech Pathology major at Long Island and need a master's degree. I have undergraduate loans that are parent, parent plus, direct, unsub, sub, govt. grands, so many things and I will be a senior this year in September. Will I still be forced to start paying? should I consolidate, defer? Or can I pay all these loans(including grad school loans) after I get my masters? please help me and thank you.
