will earning 2 masters degrees make me more valuable for a career in student affairs/higher education? I am completing a masters in post secondary education now but i didnt have any graduate assistanships or internships because it was distance learning. I feel that I should go back and earn a second degree in student affairs counceling to be able to secure a entry level higher education job after graduation. The second degree includes two internships and a graduate assistanship. Also I could become certified as a councelor, which is something my first masters doesnt offer. What do you think, does it really matter about the graduate experience or will my related experiences in undergrad plus my first masters be enough to secure an entry level job in student affairs?
Is a Masters in Education degree easy to be obtained? I am currently live in NYC and I am currently finishing up my Masters in Education and Special Education degree. While doing the degree I really did not find it to be hard so I was wondering if it was the school I attend. I also found other people who completed their Masters in Education at other schools found it not to be challenging. I was wondering if a Master in Education on a whole is a easy degree to obtained? Thanks
Should a teacher get an MBA or Masters in Education? I'm a young public education teacher in Louisiana. It seems as though our public education system will be seeing many changes in the future and we'll be seeing more and more charter schools. Would it be smarter for me to get my MBA instead of one of the masters degrees in education?
If 43% of teachers have a masters degree in education why do our schools suck so bad? I was just reading this article that sums up what I have been saying for years and learned something new .... 90% of teachers with masters degrees have majors in "education" and not in the subjects they are supposed to be teaching. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101120/ap_on_re_us/us_teacher_master_s_degrees So all you "teachers need more money" folks, please explain this.

Why don't all universities in America require all professor to have a masters degree in education? At the college I go to, there are a lot of professors who know their subject, but who aren't really great at teaching the material. Why don't universities make it a requirement for professors to have a masters degree. The high school that I went to had teachers who had their masters degrees (and they conveyed the info very well). That being said, why don't universities make that requirement? YES, I know that people have to study outside of class, but why don't they still try to teach it to reinforce the material?

Bachelors VS Masters degree in elementary education, is there much of a difference in curriculum? ? I think I would enjoy teaching but unfortunately I'm getting a bachelors degree in marketing. My school has a program for students with degrees in fields other than education. That will allow them to become teachers and to get a Masters in elementary education. I was wondering if I will be missing out on a lot if I skip the bachelors in elementary degree or if most of the material will be covered in the Masters program.

online masters degrees for literary education? I have a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Women's Studies and a certificate in human sexuality. I will graduate with these in December 2010. I will be working as a manuscript reader either as an intern or as an actual job. I would like the option of teaching at the community college level. I know I need a master's degree for that. I am pretty burnt out on traditional school though. The only place I can find that is even close is Penn State's online degree program for Adult Education. I can't find any other accredited school that offers something close to a master's degree in American Literature. Do you know of one?
Accredited online education masters degree program for Texas? I'm trying to find an online school that offers a masters in education program that would be recognized and accepted while I'm teaching in Texas. Anybody that teaches in Texas get a masters degree online, that their district recognized and can share what site and program they went through? So far no teachers from Texas have been able to help me answer my questions. I really don't want either of these first two answers to get any points, because they are so what I was hoping not to get. Obviously I'm aware there are many online colleges available, any dummy with a search engine could find that out, but accreditation varies by state so if you don't know specifics please don't waste your time.
