Online Doctoral Degrees Knowledge Base
Where can I earn a good online doctoral degree in IT? I will be finishing up my master's degree in a couple of years and I was looking to where I could go to earn a doctoral degree online. I am moving around a lot, so a brick and mortar school is not an option. I was looking at maybe Nova Southeastern University or Colorado Technical University Online. I would like to specialize in some field in IT, as my master's degree will be in IT security. Does anyone have any suggestions?
is getting an online doctoral degree beneficial? I am considering attending online Doctorate of Social Work program. My future goal is to be able to teach within higher education. I was wondering about the job aspect and how well an online degree would hold when applying for jobs after the online program is completed.
Online Doctoral Degrees? Are there any universities in the UK that offer On-line study option for a doctoral degree. Does anybody have any recommendations? I am particularly interested to hear from anyone who has had experience of completing one of these programmes and their views on it, how it impacted on their lives etc. Thanks AL A - do you or anyone you know have experience of completing this type of program? Thank you Helen F for the accounty of your own personal experiences. Very valuable indeed. I have completed a Masters Degree entirely online and this is what prompted me to ask this question.
How is obtaining a doctoral degree from an Online University percieved? I know someone who is considering this option, but has some reservations. I have my own thoughts, but I wonder what others think. Thanks for your honestly. This is very interesting. I have two doctoral degrees from NYU and I don't personally think they are bad. I just wanted to know what the world outside my cubby thought. I was talking about the Online degree programs as bad.
Do any public schools offer online Doctoral Programs? I know for-profit scam schools offer online graduate programs. But I wanted to know if any public schools offer them, too. I live in New York, and SUNY has online Master's Degrees, and CUNY has online Bachelor's Degrees.
What college online or on a campus can get me a Doctoral degree in computer science? Since my last question was resolved by R.F, I found out I would like to be a Doctor of Computer Science. But I want to try to find out which online and Campus Colleges and Universities would offer an academical degree like that. I want to know the name(s) of the college(s) or University(-y ies), where they are, if they are a College or University the cost of the dorms and stuff like that. Thank you!
Which online school has a better Doctoral program in Early Childhood Education? I have recently earned my Master's of Education in Education Administration and would like to purse a doctoral degree in Early Childhood Education. However, I have a very busy schedule and the nearest university with a program in Early Childhood Education is 1 1/2 hours away, so I have been looking into online programs. I noticed that there were programs at NorthCentral University and Walden University, but I am not sure of the reputation of their schools in the field of education. I am wondering if they are creditable schools or if there are traditional universities that offer a doctoral degree program in Early Childhood online? Please help.
is a online degree or certification just as good as going to a college to get one? I have been interested in getting a certification for nutrition, health and wellness and possibly earn a doctoral degree in that career; however, I do not want to pay out extra money to do something on-line if it is not validated enough. I did find a on-line college I was interested in called Clayton school of natural health. Right now I am attending Anne Arundel community college and then I will transfer to Maryland University. Please, anyone give me your expertise and or opinions! Thanks! Angie
top online doctoral programs? DBA vs. PHD? I will obtain my MBA in a matter of months and still undecided whether to pursue my next degree. Does anyone know of any top online programs to obtain a doctorate degree (business, finance, or entrepreneurship) and what is the difference between a PHD and DBA? Which is better? Thanks The online programs i am looking at are CMU (Carnegie) and Boston University. I am looking at reputable (accred) schools. I am pretty sure i would receive the same degree as if i attended in person. Any other schools?
online doctorate degrees? I am considering a doctorate at u of phoenix. I recently finished a Masters there but it was on campus. The Doctoral programs however are all online. I am a little unsure about it though. I guess I am a bit of an old fashion student. If someone could shed some light please share.......... I just need a little help on this one. If some of you guys could help out I'd appreciate it.
Is taking online classes at graduate school a big NO NO? The program I wanna apply to says you can take some of the classes online instead of at campus. i like online classes but someone said that if u wanna apply for a doctoral degree after you're done with this degree, they will look at the transcript and wont take u as seriously cause you didn't attend face-to-face classes. what do you think?
Can I get a Stafford loan for online grad work? For a foreign school if it has a code recognized by FAFSA? I am looking at a really respected divinity school affiliated with the University of Melbourne. The university itself has a school code recognized by FAFSA, but being a foreign school, does not have American accreditation. It now offers a master's degree program online. I read somewhere that most online programs do not qualify for Stafford loans anyway. The reason I need this particular program is that I am raising a child and MUST continue to work full time, so online is really my only practical option. And although there are online theology programs in the States, ALL the ones I've seen (and I've been looking for three years) are either diploma mills or Bible colleges. Neither is what I want or need. This is a respected school, and a degree from it will help me get into a doctoral program eventually, which is my goal. Does anyone have any ideas how I can finance this? I'd be so grateful for any advice!
college question? I want to be a judge, pharmist, or just a good paying job. After high school could I take my assoicate-doctoral degree online and would I get paid the same amount(and same job offerings) as I would if I went to a regular college? and what are some high paying jobs that arent too hard? [ not doctors or dentists because i couldnt stand putting needles in people] please answer!
What is the proper way of saying this? After I complete my education, I’ll have a Bachelor of Computer Technology and a Doctorate of Psychology. After I complete my education, I’ll have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology and a Doctoral degree in Psychology. I'm scouring Google and looking for online college ads! Please help me. Thank you so much! You've helped me write a letter of interest. Wish me luck..
Master's degree, Doctorate, or just Certificates? I'll be starting my undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems with an emphasis in Information Systems Security fairly soon. It's an online degree with DeVry University, known well for their technology degrees among others and not just online. I want to get further education after I get my undergrad degree. My old roommate, at this university I was at for about a year, ended up getting his undergrad degree in computer science and skipping his master's and going straight for his doctorate which he did end up getting and now he's working for Google. I thought about doing that, but ONE, I don't know if a doctoral program (non-online) would accept an online undergrad degree as a requirement. TWO, my cousin who teaches computer science classes advised that I go for my undergrad degree and then get Cisco certificates instead of going for another degree. What do you think?
Any psychologists that want to help me? I want to be a psychologist.. but where do i begin? I know the courses i need to take in college and all but what is "A doctoral degree from an APA accredited university"?? and how do i get my license? What is the difference between a councilorand a psychologist? This all seems so much more complex than i thought it was and also i know what i want to do as my job but i have no clue what area of psychology it falls into.. such as clinical or whatever.. i ddon'tknow. im just confused and i need like an aadviseror something.. Just somebody to talk to about it and answer my questions so please help. Thanks. Oh and is a a terrible idea to get a degree online?
How do I find a mentor for doctoral study? I have a Master's in Education and I was considering going back to school for a Doctorate. I researched the requirements to get into the local University and apparently I need three letters of recommendation, one of which will have to agree to be my mentor. How do I get someone to be my mentor? In undergrad I studied Journalism and I did my Master's degree online. As a result, I don't know any professors in the Education field. Right now I am an instructor with the Air Force, but I am the most educated person in my duty section. No one there has any civilian college teaching experience. What do I do? I have to have a mentor just for my application to get accepted!
Masters and Doctoral Programs? I plan to pursue an online masters degree. I looked into Univ.of Phoenix, and I like the idea of finishing the M.S. clinical psychology in max. 18 months. But they don't offer PhD programs. Walden University offered me a bridge program due to high undergraduate GPA. The bridge program, 4-6 years, allows for me to complete a masters in general psychology, from where the coursework transfers into the PhD clinical psychology. But the masters doesn't include a licensure, and the licensure specializations, in this case clinical, are not accredited by the American Psychological Association, and have not received designation by the Association of State (I am in Calilfornia) and the Provincial Psychology Board. Would the program be a waste or can I take them on my own independently elsewhere? And how can I finally move over to becoming a psychiatrist?
Best route for schooling for Physician Assistant? Ok I'm looking at universities right now and i'm thinking about becoming a physician assistant in an orthopedic doctors office i have read online about 2 year programs, bachelor degrees, master and doctoral degrees. I have been looking at 4 year universities. So if i go to a 4 year school should i major in pre-med and then go the next 2 years for my masters or should I get my bachelor's degree in the field of health i'm interested in and then get my certification for PA by the state or any other options would be greatly appreciated please help this is a big decision of my life thanks!!!!
Physical Therapist Question? I am studying Kinesiology and taking the other courses recommended for one looking to be a physical therapist (on top of my Kin degree and all its requirements) what else will I have to do to become a PT. I've see that most schools in New England are all doctoral programs while out west (and some online colleges/universities) they have more masters programs in PT. Can I become a PT with just a masters or do I need a doctoral? Also Is an online degree in PT just as good or are they not accredited like most schools?
If you're a Chinese citizen, what are your habits, etc. with the use of cell phones, especially while driving? Cell phones, and their widespread use while driving, are proliferating everywhere - but perhaps nowhere as much as in China. A post-graduate student in Germany, as part of a doctoral thesis research project, needs input from as many Chinese citizens as possible - and ASAP - on this important social and technological phenomenon. Are you a Chinese citizen who's ready, willing and able to participate in a simple 15-minute online questionnaire session that's part of this groundbreaking study comparing and contrasting cell phone use, habits and device feature preferences among and between Chinese, US and German citizens? It's as easy as 1-2-3 to get started! To become a part of this important research work - which could not only help developers to pioneer new technologies, feature enhancements and assist authorities everywhere with promoting good driving habits that will save countless lives as a result of cell phone use while driving - go straight to the questionnaire that's waiting for you at: http://www-user.tu-chemnitz.de/~lep/lime P.S. You can see from the URL that the doctoral degree candidate undertaking this important study is studying at the prestigious University of Chemnitz in Germany, and so you can be reassured that your name, etc., will NOT be solicited, and you will remain totally anonymous as a survey participant. Ms. Michaela Heinz, the graduate student on whose behalf this question is being posted, greatly appreciates your time, attention, courtesy and cooperation in helping to advance cross-cultural knowledge in ways that will make the world a better place for us all to live in - in China, the US and germany, and beyond!

Need All the Help! I am really interested in enrolling in a Ph.D or Doctoral for Business Administration? I have an undergrad degree in History and am currently taking online course for a MBA. My MBA will be completed in November of 2009 so, I am currently interested in pursuing a Ph.D or doctoral in Business Administration. Should I attend a ground school (as I did for my bachelors) or should I attend an online school (as I am doing for mba)? Also, I am currently studying for the GMAT and do you have an experiences in that area? Also, my ultimate goal is to teach on a college level? Also, what do you consider as great schools for Ph.D or doctoral? I know these are a lot of questions but, my brain is on overload. I would really appreciate any help and suggestions that you may have in this area. Thank you in advance.
Looking for input from students/graduates of doctoral management programs. What was your experience? I am an experienced adjunct professor with an MBA and other post graduate education looking to eventually make the leap from the corporate world to full-time teaching. I am looking into several Ph.D/DBA programs and am looking for input. Minimum requirements: Regional Accreditation is a must, the school will should have AACSB/ACBSP accreditation, I’m considering schools with an online component as well (but that is not a requirement). I am looking form comments from individuals who are currently enrolled in, have completed, or were previously enrolled in a doctoral program centered around business, management, or a similar field (finance, org behavior etc). What did you like about it? What did you dislike? Would you return to the school for further education? What was the cost? How long did it take you to complete your degree? How long did it take you to land a full-time teaching position after completing your degree? (if that’s applicable).
What are some good, quick, online certificate programs in business or other useful subject? I have a Master's degree in Public Administration and have taken certification courses to teach English as a Foreign Language (in the event that I find a good doctoral program abroad) and through FEMA to become a Crisis Manager. I'm just looking for something to fill the time. What are some other good online certificate programs that I could complete in 6 months or less if I wanted to that would actually teach me something useful about business (I want to start a nonprofit or other business) or something just fun that might pepper my all ready pretty impressive resume.

I have a question about Psychology? Next year will be my last year of high school, so I want to go ahead and start researching what I want to do with my life. Anyone who actually knows the career of a psychologist (who actually has a degree) please answer o_o I already know all the courses for associate's degree, bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctoral degree (I researched :3) But here's my question((: 1. What are the good points of being a psychologist (besides the money)? 2. What are the bad points of being a psychologist? 3. Anyone who has attended University of Phoenix for this career, is it a good college for this career? (I plan on doing the online-campus) 4. How difficult are the courses? (From your own experience) I would also love to hear from people who have their degree in Psychology that's actually a Psychologist to tell me more about it besides the questions I asked. So far, I'm interested in this career. But I want to make sure it's what I can handle by hearing someone's story who is a Psychologist (: Thanks! :D To note: I want to be a Psychologist for counseling, mainly with the youth though (teenagers). I wanted to do the online-campus because I'm home schooled online so I'm very used to how it works with the lessons and such. My GPA currently is a 4.0 (: I talked to the enrollment counselor for University of Phoenix - Axia about scholarships and such; she gave me a few links about scholarships and what types I can get. I'll be doing either financial-aid for it. I plan on doing the online-campus for my associates and my bachelors degree. After that, I plan on going to the actual campus around my around for my master's and doctoral degree (although they said most of my work can be done on the computer). Thank you for your replies((:
Where can I find some sample CVs or resumes for community college professors? In June 2009, I will have received my M.A., and I am interested in teaching community college courses, at least as an adjunct, in order to bring in some extra money (as well as teaching experience) while I get myself more financially stable before I go on to get my doctoral degree. My master's degree will be in the humanities, but I have a special interest in rhetoric and composition (e.g., Basic Composition 101, etc.). Anyway, where could I find some sample CVs or resumes for community college instructors online?
Pursuing a Ph.D or Ed.D...? I just finished with my Masters in Education in Instructional Leadership and Counselor Education with a 3.8 GPA (I have to throw that in there because this was my first time ever having above a 3.0 since junior year in high school) and I am very interested in pursuing a Doctoral degree. I'm torn between two programs; one is a Ph.D in Technical Communication and the other is in Instructional Technology. However, I only have 2 years of lengthy work experience through AmeriCorps, plus have done extra work outside of my job. For me, this degree isn't just about the title, but also the research that I want to endure in order to make a difference. Some of my future long-term goals include starting a non-profit helping at-risk youth prepare for college, teaching and coordinating a distance learning program at a university, and/or teaching other online programs to both youth and adult learners. I just wanted to know if I am on the right track and do I have what it takes? Thanks!
What qualifications do I need to have to get admitted into a Post-Baccalaureate program in Classics??? I am a senior studying at an accredited, smaller university and I am currently majoring in History. Although I have only taken 1 year of Latin, I am looking to pursue a doctoral degree in Classics. Currently, I am looking into Post-Baccalaureate programs in Classics at Columbia, UCLA, Georgetown, UC Davis, and UPenn. Does anyone know the admission requirements for these schools, particularly Columbia and Georgetown??? Also, I know that I don't have enough language credits required for UPenn, but I was considering applying anyway - does anyone know my chances of getting in? FYI, I have enrolled myself at UC Berkeley's intensive summer Greek program. I'm hoping this well help my application. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm really having trouble finding answers online...
PHYSICAL THERAPISTS PLEASE ANSWER!!? ok, so i have to do this project for my LA2 class and its about what we wanna be when we grow up. i wanna be a physical therapist and i have to interview a PT either online or in person. so i have a few questions. -where did you go to school? -how many years did it take to get your doctoral degree? -how much did it cost to go to school? -what classes did you have to take? -were the classes easy? -how much are you making right now (u dont have to answer but i hope u do)? -what dont you like about your job? -what do you like about your job? -how long have you been a PT? -do you still have time for your family? -do you work in a private setting or in a hospital? i know its pretty long but i really need your answers THANKS!!!
I want to be a doctor, however I slacked off in high school, do I still have a chance? I'm 18.? I slacked off throughout high school. I've been on both sides of the fence, I was bullied freshman / sophomore year so I dropped out and attended an online high school. My junior and senior year, I did very stupid things to fit in. I started becoming involved with the "popular" crowd who drank and did drugs, which ultimately led me being the one who did the drugs and drank. I feel horrible for letting myself go down that road, but it happened, I can't change it. I fortunately did get accepted into a four year college, but I don't have the rigorous curriculum background that most students in pursuit of a doctoral degree do. I'm horrible at math, but I'm willing to work. I've finally discovered what I want to do with my life. What can I do to reach my goals, besides the obvious hard work.
Is a distance learning master's program looked as highly upon as...? I'm interested in taking advantage of St. Joseph's University's online Master's degree in education. This is a fully functioning brick and mortar university that happens to offer distance learning. The school has been around since 1851 and offers undergrad, master's and doctoral programs. It is not a FOR profit school like University of Phoenix. Will this be looked upon as highly as if I attended the university in person for my courses? Thanks http://www.sju.edu/
Please name all the UC's that have a psycology and nursing major.? Please name all the UC's that have a psycology and nursing major.? I'm trying to list which colleges I would apply for. Please list any colleges you know that have the majors that I'm looking for, but preferably UC's. These are some of the qualities that I look for in a college: -Public -Coed -University -4 yr -Large town or small city -offers a variety of majors, includes health professions such as nursing. -Degrees: bachelors, master's, doctoral (I always wanted to go to UC Davis, but I don't think it has the major I'm looking for, but I searched online & it said it has nursing programs and such.)
income potential for psychologists with psy.d? i am going to enter a doctoral program in the fall and suddenly am worried about student loans vs. repayment/income potential. does anyone have close affiliation or first hand knowledge of incomes of people with the aforementioned degree? (please don't tell me to look at statistics online. i've already done that and don't think they accurately reflect). thanks for any input.
Im in my first year in university, how can i write a CV? Ive searched for an online CV layout and this is pretty much the standard CV layout I got Address Telephone Cell Phone Email Personal Information Date of Birth Place of Birth Citizenship Visa Status Gender Optional Personal Information Marital Status Spouse's Name Children Employment History List in chronological order, include position details and dates Work History Academic Positions Research and Training Education Include dates, majors, and details of degrees, training and certification High School University Graduate School Post-Doctoral Training Professional Qualifications Certifications and Accreditations Computer Skills Awards Publications Books Professional Memberships Interests But ive only just finished highschool so most of those things would be irrelevant to me - what can i write about?
Schools offering doctoral degree (phd) in clinical psychology, with LOW COST programs in southern CA? I am looking for a school offering phd program in clinical psycholgy. It does not matter whether it's online school or not. I was wondering what are the lowest possible costs for phd program in clinical psychology? also, i was wondering if having completed MA in psychology would shorten a phd program, taking off a year or two? meaning would any courses taken toward MA in psychology would eliminate the need for certain classes in phd program?
If I get a Master's in I/O psychology, will I be eligible to earn a Doctorate in Social psychology? I just graduated with my BS in psychology and am currently teaching at a community college in the middle of nowhere. In this job climate, if I were to go for a master's in Industrial Organizational Psychology to hedge my bets in the workplace, would that still cut off the standard year from my doctoral work in social psychology? Would a degree in I/O psychology adequately prepare me for the doctorate work? I know most social psychologists go straight Ph.D. but I do not believe this is an option for monetary reasons. Also, I live in nowhere southwest Kansas now (only place with openings) and I don't believe there are any online programs in social psychology online anyway. Would a degree in I/O just be a waste of my time? Would it make me any more attractive to Universities. For the record I am not looking at a "University of Phoenix" online program, Kansas State University offers a distance learning program which is mostly online and I was thinking about their Industrial Organizational program. Any help with this rather large life decision would be appreciated. I am teaching with Bachelors actually. It is possible if you are willing to go far enough into nowhereville.
I attend the University of Phoenix (on ground) and am freaking out?!? When I started going back to school, I decided on UoP because a girl I knew said it worked great with 8-5 work schedules and it sounded like a good plan for me, other than the cost. Being the type of person who had no clue what good or bad I was getting into, I went with this school. I have been there for two years now and am trying to earn a bachelor degree in Health Care Admin. All the reviews I keep reading says things like, "It's a for profit school that most employers laugh at and do not take seriously, though it's accredited", "Easy to get degree", "Degree mill", and other horrible things. Is this really true? If I finish my bachelor degree here but get my master degree at a state university, like the University of Oklahoma (possibly online), will emplyers take my degree more seriously if I finish where I'm at but get my master and maybe doctoral at a state university? I'm freaking out at these reviews. HELP!
Trouble deciding what to do with Life....? I have a serious problem.... I am 25 years old, I am married to a German and we have 2 kids.... After high school I joined the Army for 6 years.... Thats when I came to Germany, a few years later I met my wife.... I am since out of the Army and we live in Germany.... Now here is the problem.... I have my Post 9-11 GI Bill to use.... I do not want to use it for Online College because I want a degree in Astronomy or Astrophysics.... ( I know that its hard but I am passionate about it) My wife does not want to go back to the states.... I am having a hard time deciding what to do.... To live here in a country where I am having difficulty learning the language and I feel homesick to hell or to go back home and start college and eventually get a degree and eventually go for a masters and doctoral.... This is talking years down the road.... love my kids to death but I am able to live without my wife (i love her to).... So, my problem is to go to college to get a degree that I am passionate about (which I only have a certain time that I can use the Post 9-11 GI Bill) or stay in Germany hating life here and working without a degree.... Lost and Confused The thing is that we were already there for a year and a half, but I stayed until I got Medically Discharged.... She ended up leaving a little before 1 1/2 years.... I think me going to college is the most important thing to do right now, so I may provide a better future for my kids.... While she does not want to leave her town and family....
What are good financial aid to get or scholarships? I'm only a junior (11th grade) in high school. I'm already signing up for scholarships, and I want more scholarships to prepare for my doctoral degree for nursing as well as majoring business too, and also financial aid. What are good scholarships to get online? That are not scammers.
M.S. or Ph.D for engineering? I'm presently an undergrad in Computer Engineering (with a focus on digital hardware) and I'm looking at grad school applications now and trying to determine whether it makes sense to apply for the doctoral programs or simply go for the Master's degree. The advise I have found online seems to fall into two primary - contradictory - camps. 1. For engineering, only go for the masters degree, particularly if you're not interested in going into Academics. Otherwise you may price yourself out of the market. 2. Go for the PhD, you'll find it easier to get into schools and get funded. I'm interested in adding a level of art to what I know, but I also want to deepen my knowledge of the core of EE, namely linear/non-linear circuit theory, feedback systems and analog design (which seems to be an art unto itself). MIT's Media Lab is one such place where this seems like it may be possible, but finding other programs - particularly ones that may provide funding - has been challenging. Would it be wiser to stick to the more traditional EE route (which I do thoroughly enjoy.) or continue on trying to find other programs that are more focused on what I want to eventually do? So, boiled down - Does it make sense to go for the MS or PhD? and should I focus more closely on programs that fit what I want, or go the more traditional EE route?
master's degree in forensic psychology--best program in america? i'm looking for some help with opinions regarding the "best" program in america for obtaining a masters in forensic psychology. PS: i don't want any crummy online programs that are so popular today...only true accredited programs..thanks.

Her desire to see Obama fail will remind us all of the old saying 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'. Report Abuse --------------------------------------...
