Does a free online college or university degree granting program exist anywhere at present? Michael Sailor of Microstrategy tried to start a free online internet university degree program back in 2000 but was unable to fund the idea due to his company's stock tanking. Has anyone accomplished his (admittedly noble) idea yet?

Free online degrees or certifications? Does anyone know of websites that offer free certifications or degrees in pretty much anything (underwater basket weaving, etc)? I mean completely free. I don't mean those sites that claim to offer degrees in things for ~only~ 100$, I'm talking about something that you'd have to actually read, take some tests, etc. Also, I realize there are some colleges that offer free courses in things. I want something that will equal a certification. Thanks
Free Online college? I'm looking for free online class to make me smarter. I am NOT looking for a degree, to all you smart asses. MIT has free classes. But, they do not hve computer networking, and that is what I'm looking for. Any online college with spanish and computer networking? Doesn't have to be free either. Thanks

I have a beautiful loving wife and three beautiful children one of which is also disabled. I pray someday to be a Biblical Counselor. Thanks and God Bless! John Runer
I REALLY want to finish my college degree. An online school is my only option. Is it even worth it? I dropped out of college about a year ago, got married, and moved to very rural area. I REALLY want to go back to school, but the nearest university is 200+ miles away and I work 40 hours a week, so online college is my only option. I want to get a BA in English or Interdisciplinary Studies and become a free-lance writer and novelist. I know that most online colleges are for-profit and much more expensive than traditional universities, and I can't afford to waste money on a degree from a school that isn't going to do me any good. Is a degree from an online school better than nothing at all or should I save my money? In addition, if anyone can provide me links to good resources about online education or information on how to find a legitimate school it would be greatly appreciated.
Online College? Good? Bad? I'm moving from NY to FL at the end of august. I've taken 8 online classes at two different schools and loved it. I've done sitting in class at community college, I've done moving away from home and living at college; neither I liked. Online classes are a great option for me since it's at my pace and since it frees up a lot of my time that I'll need to spend working to pay for my new apartment. I'm a psychology major and have taken 1 psychology class INSIDE the classroom and 3 OUTSIDE the classroom and learn MUCH more from OUTSIDE the classroom. I'm very close to graduating I just need 1 math class. I've looked at University of Phoenix, but it's so expensive, and I've heard heavily mixed reviews about it. Any other colleges offer good psychology degrees, well accredited, and will take into account the other classes I took at community college and perhaps I could just graduate with their online degree? Any ideas on good colleges with good degrees in Psychology? OOPS! My bad. As of right now I'm going to graduate with 'individual studies' and then switch my major to psychology.
Is college even worth going for the sole purpose of learning when everything can be found online for free? It seems to me college is just for better looks on the resume or get a degree for certain job requirements but truly if you wanted to learn something you can learn it through cheaper sources. What I'm trying to get at is this system is fail. Colleges were made to learn things and not to pay thousands of dollars to get a job.
is getting an online college degree just as good as attending a university? my youngest is having his first time school experience so that leaves me free time to go back to work. i want to also further my education. possibly a career as a guidance councilor at a high school. i need to work, i need more schooling and it seems an online education is the answer. i'm afraid when i'm done getting my degree i wont get hired any where coz an online education isn't strong enough or impressive enough. can anyone give me advice as to whats best? thank you i think this is important as well that if i get an online degree it will be with a good college like Northeastern university.
Wanting to go back to college, this is what I need to know....? I am fifty years old and was laid off and I am drawing disability. I am wanting to go to college and get a degree, my problem is I haven't been in school in over thirty years. Is their any online free college courses to get myself up to date?? I use to work in aircraft on the maintenance side, but with my disability I can't get around and do maintenance like before. I am looking into some sort of office type work in the same field.
Is there an online college with accelerated courses geared toward an Associates Degree in Arts AND Sciences? I want to be able to earn an Associates Degree in Arts AND Sciences online as quickly as my work schedule will allow. I work around 55-60 hours a week painting houses and apartment complexes, so i'm searching for an online college/university that has accelerated courses or work studies to make my studying habits & work pace acceptable...with out a huge amount of money being thrown out in the process. I don't like wasting my time so if there's an accelerated online college out there where I could work as fast or as much as I am able to in my free time, I'd love to get more information about it as soon as possible.
Can an aspiring adult student re-enter a traditional (non degree mill/online) college? Too late? Pointers? I am a 28yr old seeking to re-enter the Undergraduate realm in order to complete a degree in Computer Science. I have a 2yr degree in math and a 4yr degree in business. I am currently employed full time, and I am a small home owner in Tennessee. I have discovered that my real desire is to complete a degree in CS, and work in the industry. CS was my first degree choice, but I switched to engineering/took a bunch of math after switching back/forth and goofing off in my early 20s, then I had to move out, and the only degree I could complete was a business degree on the weekend. Even though I completed a BS in something, I still feel a void because I wasn't able to complete what I wanted to complete. Am I alone in a quest to sell the farm and return to school full time? Is this feasible? Unheard of? There is a traditional school in TN austin peay that offers a respected distance program but it would take longer than traditonal feel free to contact me. Can i go straight to an online bachelors degree or do i need my associates degree first? i tried asking for a free info package at some online colleges for a bachelors degree and they told me i needed an associates first.
College - online or brick n' mortar? My question is whether I should attend college via an online program, or a traditional college campus setting. I have recently come to the decision that no matter what I choose to pursue in life, college is a necessity. I am still young, and have endless possibilities in front of me. There are several advantages and disadvantages to both of these choices. The two schools I am deciding between are through the CUNY (City University of New York) system - the CUNY Online Baccalaureate program, and Baruch College. Both are of a similar tuition rate, which won't be a problem. Online ---------- Advantages: - Flexible hours, meaning a part-time job would be much more manageable - Location free, meaning if in the future I decide to move I won't have to deal with transfering credits, reapplying to schools, etc. Disadvantages: - As I've read, online degrees are far less respected by prospective employers - Similarly, the possibility of later attending graduate school will also be more difficult (...continued) - Accredited only through New York State education board - Very broad major, not very specific Traditional ---------- Advantages - Much more resources (career center, libraries, networking events, etc.) - Very prestigious school. Accredited through AACSB International - Many more choices of a major in the Business school (Finance, Accounting, Management, Entrepreneurship) - Option of choosing a minor - Option of double-majoring - More likely to be accepted into graduate school programs Disadvantages - A traditional strict schedule of classes, decreasing the possibility to work while in school - Firm location, meaning moving out-of-state would require transferring credits and probably losing a good amount I guess some of my biggest concerns are that I am young and afraid of commitment. I understand attending the traditional school would give me a much better education, but don't know whether to sacrifice the flexibility the online program offers. Comments welcome. P.S. I forgot to mention that my intended area of study is business. The online program only offers a "Bachelor's of Science in Business", while the traditional school offers many different majors within it's business school. Again, all comments, suggestions, and advice are appreciated so feel free to help me out. Thanks! P.S. I forgot to mention that my intended area of study is business. A good free online source for learning rules of grammar.? I have to pass an English grammar competency test at college to get my degree, and I attempted figuring it would be basic - but it wasn't! The test is very hard core and has a lot of grammar rules I haven't seen used in text for years. I need a really good study site that can help me learn the grammar of my own language?
Is online college just as good as taking traditional classes? What if I took classes online, would I still be able to transfer to a university later? Do you or anyone you know take online classes? I don't really have any responsibilities like children, but I pay bills and would like to continue working. I don't have a constant enough schedule to take classes, it's constantly changing even though I have free time if I could do things on my own time. Is it just as good to get a degree online? My local community college offers online classes. But would I still have to do things at a particular time of day? Deadlines are okay, but I work at random times. Could I still use financial aid and scholarships?
Where can I get college grants and scholarships info free online? I am 25 years old, a mother of one and looking to continue my education. I have about 3 1/2 years completed and only need a few classes to graduate. I want to get a degree in Human Resources or Business Administration. Where can I get grants and/or scholarships to help pay for school? I had to stop going previously because money became an issue. I am also research tuition reimbursement from my company. I work in the corporate office and hoping they would help too. Where or what should I do to get info WITHOUT paying for it? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!!!!
Working parents, in need of a college degree? You may be able to get one through this new program. I'm so happy to see the government taking steps to alleviate the problems working parents face instead of just bandaging the symptoms. How many of you would take advantage of this opportunity? I also posted this in the parenting section thinking it would be helpful to parents. $2 Million in Scholarships for Working Parents Going Back to School (ARA) - You'd love to get (or finish) your degree, but as a working parent how do you afford college, even if you can find the time? Good news -- there is help, about $2 million worth, and you could be entitled to a share of it. Ann Marie Casey-Ulery, 25, always yearned for a college degree, but put her dream on hold to raise and support her 2-year-old and 7-year-old daughters while their armed forces dad was deployed overseas. In addition to caring for her own family, she also serves as power of attorney for her best friend's young daughter while both parents serve in Iraq. "With the girls' father being deployed on and off over the past two years, I've had to double up and be Mommy and Daddy all alone," Casey-Ulery says. "School couldn't be a factor when I was alone to raise my family." However, Casey-Ulery's greatest wish was granted when she recently applied for, and won, a Project Working Mom scholarship to attend an online college for free. Project Working Mom … and Dads, Too! is a program that will grant at least $2 million in full-ride scholarships to working parents across the country. Thanks to the Project Working Mom scholarship, Casey-Ulery will now get her degree in accounting from Everest University at no cost to her. Online classes grant her the flexibility to attend school from home at any time of day, which frees her from childcare worries. Casey-Ulery is home for her children when they need her, and she now sees herself as a role model for her them. "My goal is to do my best so that my daughters can see that if Mommy can do well in school, so can they," Casey-Ulery says. Casey-Ulery is one of 93 Project Working Mom scholarship recipients from across the country. All told, these recipients shared in more than $4 million in the last two successful Project Working Mom campaigns. The newest campaign - Project Working Mom … and Dads, Too! - began on Jan. 8 and will wrap up on April 30, and, as the name suggests, this time around the campaign applies to fathers as well as mothers. "We launched Project Working Mom as a response to staggering statistics indicating that working moms are an underserved population that simply need to overcome the obstacles of time, money and confidence to achieve the education they need to improve their lives," said Helen MacDermott, content director for Project Working Mom. "But in today's economy, we realize there are plenty of dads who are also in desperate need of financial aid and deserve a chance to tell their stories, too." According to the U.S. Census Bureau, of the 2.1 million single dads in the United States only 16 percent have a bachelor's degree or higher. "Fathers play such a tremendous role in the lives of their children and it's important that they set a good example by getting the education they want their children to have," said Carey Casey, CEO of the Kansas City-based National Center for Fathering and fathers.com. "Project Working Mom listened to the needs of dads and opened this great opportunity to them; it couldn't have come at a better time for many people." eLearners.com, an online education resource that connects learners with online education, and which created the Project Working Mom campaigns, also created an interactive, in-depth Web site to help learners tackle their questions and fears about returning to school. The site is designed to empower working parents and offers: advice on going back to school; self-assessment quizzes on numerous subjects, including how to determine what subjects to study; an online support community; numerous articles; and, a database with $15 billion in financial aid opportunities. Take the first step towards your perfect degree. Apply for a Project Working Mom…and Dads, Too! Scholarship and get advice and financial aid information on going back to school online. Visit http://www.ProjectWorkingMom.com to apply for your share of $2 million in scholarships for working parents.
Is there a site I can go to to learn comp forensics for free without ordering videos or having a free trial? I don't want to order videos or CD Roms to learn or sign up to get a degree on some phony online college website. I just want to learn online on a free scam free site. Please help me!
College Classes Question? Hi all I was just wondering if anybody knew of any place online that offers free online college courses. I realize this is a long shot. But it's just that I'm feeling a bit stuck in a rut. All my friends either have jobs, kids, or are in college. I can't get a job because I'm disabled on Social Security, or believe I would have one. Now my mom is an accountant and I help her in her office doing data entry, answering the phones and stuff of that nature so I am doing something. But I figured why put the money into the college courses when I can't use the degrees anyway, and why use the money you could get to help pay for school when other people need it. That's why I'm looking for free classes, I'd like to at least say I've accomplished something. I graduated in '06 and I really don't like sounding like a slacker when someone asks "so are you in school" and I answer no. So I hope somebody out there knows something. Thanks for looking.
What is your opinion on an online college in this scenorio (or in general)? I'm considering attending a two year college and attaining my associates degree. These two years would include free tution due to a state funding program, and the words "free" and "college" work beautifully together, so I see no reason not to take the offer. This college is about a ten minute drive from my home which is perfect considering I do not want to dorm in college. With that in mind, I may be moving out of state in a couple years; instead of looking for a local college to attain my bachelor's degree, I have considered looking into an online college. Would this be a bad choice? Also, what is your opinion on the online colleges? Side note: I am attending to become either a zoologist, or (but more likely) an elementary teacher.
Do you need a degree to give online lessons? I want to give online photoshop lessons, and perhaps have people pay monthly for the expert level videos, but do I need a college degree to do so? It might be that you do not need a degree if they were to be free, but having people pay makes me question the idea. What do you think? Do you think that experience is enough?
online college credits? I just graduated high school and i want to travel so I'm taking a year off but i want to keep up with school daily . Now in not trying to get an online degree I'm just trying to stay in course an obtain a few credits & be where i need to be when i go back to school . Some information on programs . advise . your personal experience . Feel Free
What is an alternative that is cheap/free to college classes? I already have a four year degree, and although I could get more degrees, I really don't want to spend the money. However, I really miss school and need something outside of the daily grind to give me something to do. I don't do well with self-motivation though, so the free online class type of stuff doesn't really work for me. I need to have deadlines set by someone else, so that I feel more accountable. I have thought about looking into seminar type deals offered by libraries. Are there any other options that I should consider too? Just wondering if there are things that I am not thinking about...
Online State College for Graduate studies (Masters or PhD)? I plan on going to a normal college for my Bachelor degree (I'm thinking Poli Sci or Criminal Justice now) and I'm thinking about the military, especially the Navy and the Coast Guard. In both of these services, there is a pretty good chance I will be spending 1+ year on a ship. I want to use some of my free time to get a graduate degree(s?). I don't want to take online course from money-making places like U. of Phoenix, but schools like Illinois, PSU, state schools that have good online programs for graduate work in Poli Sci or Criminal Justice related fields. Do most online state schools have Masters programs? But do they have PhD programs? Will the degree look like the same degree that was earned on campus? Or will it say "Online" somewhere on it? This is a pretty new new idea, online college. Will more schools jump on the bandwagon? Thanks a ton!
What is the fastest someone has received their BA degree online? Feel free to provide details such as if you used life experience for credits and what type of job you did before you got your degree. Also please include the name of the online university or college you attended.
Do online college's work? What I mean is I am in the marine corps and I am winded out with physical training and other things. I need a Bachelors degree to become a commissioned officer and get a higher pay grade. I would like to take my basics online in my free time but do the credits transfer or are the degrees legit?
Any free college prep courses out there? I graduated in 2009 and now im gonna be starting college spring 2011. I was never good in math and im a little rusty in other subjects lol does anyone know where i can take some free college prep courses, like online or something? if it helps im just getting a general studies degree right now. thanks in advance! it's a community college, and excuse me "worthless"? I dont know what i want to do and wanted to get my basics first. there is nothing wrong with that!
Would Drexel or UMUC be better? I would like to get a bachelors degree, but it will have to be online. I also want it to be from a respected and reputable college though. I also plan to make it a masters degree at some point in time. I would like some professional input on this. Which one of these is the more respected online college? Feel free to suggest any other well respected colleges that offer online degrees if you know of any as I have not made a decision yet. I would go to college on campus, but I am not as fortunate as some. Thanks
Is there any colleges/University offering Free Accredited courses? Is there any colleges/University offering Free Accredited courses? I am looking for online colleges/University which offer free accredited courses which I can do. Actually I am from Fiji and I work in a call centre all I earn is $ 248.00 FJD (which is only $ 139.302 USD) in a fortnight and that alone isn’t enough to cover the bills and rent and food and transport let alone pay for an education. Since my father died things have been really tough as I have a mother to look after as well. I have done Diploma in IT but finding a job is difficult as in my country all companies require a Degree and 3 years minimum experience which I don’t have. And the only place I can work is a call centre. Is there any place I can get a accredited degree or Associates online free. I can’t get a scholarship or government grant because I 23 years old and our country is very small. i tried this already but because I did my diploma the government says the grants and scholarships are only for fresh high school leaves.
I dont know how to pay for college? I have always loved learning and to be honest, if you didn't need a degree to do a lot of jobs I could just as easily get the books and teach myself! Anyways you do so here's my question, I have a few choices but two outweigh all the others and I really don't want to do either of them. I can either 1, go into the military and get free online college then when i get out of the military I get 70k for college. OR, I can get a financial aid which I REAALLY don't to do because I dont want to be in debt for like 15 years or even the rest of my life. Can you get a full ride scholorship if you score really good on the SAT's? I was dropped 9-11th grade every year for my attendance only, I learned my lesson about that. I am now doing online school and it is a real diploma and I can finish with my class or a month or two behind so that isn't much a problem. but if I wow them with my test score's, am I still kind of screwed? I dont really want to join the military because I feel like im signing my freedom away to the governent and I dont support the american govt. for what they have done in the past and what we continue to do. Anyways, yea any suggestions would be great, your thoughts on how to approach paying for college and or getting grants? Not sure how that works.
thinking about returning to school to finish science degree. Is there a text online that i can study for free? why do you have to have teaching degree to teach elementary science in highschool, but to teach harder science in college you dont need any teaching degree? also is there a place online to look at todays science textbooks or maybe even download one.
What is the best way to get a degree online? I am a stay at home mom, a mother of 2 babies and i have my hands full so i need a way to do college classes online or something. What website can i go to that is scam free?
is online college as good /bad as people say? i want to get a degree and i am thinking online is the way to go with my crazy work schedule and free nights and weekends. If you've done it, can you tell me the pros and cons of your experience? and payment plans? were they flexible? thank you!
What do you think about the idea of "Wikiveristy", a free, online university that anyone can join? Wikiversity would have online lectures, a program of study, free textbooks that could be printed off, and online quizzes and tests. Wikiversity wouldn't offer degrees, but it would be ideal for those who want a college education, but either can't afford one due to rising tuition costs or don't have time for one. This would be much different than simply going to a public library, as Wikiversity offers a program of study; Wikiveristy tells you what books to study, in what order, and throughly tests your knowledge with online tests. Oh wow, I had no idea that this had be done by now, or was in the process of being created.
Where should I get ordained? Not online free? I am a christian and have had some teaching experience, about 3 years, and almost enough Bible courses for an A.A. degree. I took them from an A/G college, but do not want to go through them because of a fundamental belief I personally don't agree with. I would like to know of a reputable ministry that ordains. I am not looking for a online place that will take anyone regardless of their beliefs and hands the papers out like candy on Halloween.
Is getting an Associates college degree at the age of 16 worth it? There's this high school called Bard High School Early College. They cram 4 years of high school into 2 years. And the left over 2 years is college. So you basically start college at 16 yr old. And the 2 yr degree is completely FREE which is amazing. I took their entrance exam earlier and I passed and was offered an interview. That is incredible because over 3000 other kids applied and 800 was offered an interview. I really can't decide whether took accept it or not. I don't know if I can handle being a college student at 16. Starting college early do have its cons. But I feel really bad declining because this is one if the best schools in NYC and they're basically offering free college. It'll require a lot of work and, reading from reviews online, I heard the workload is very heavy. Plus I have other high school applications to worry about. I barely started on my portfolios and I have other entrance exams to take. And I still need to keep up my regular school grades. I don't know if I have time to do an interview. What should I do???

How do I convert my 2 college degree grades (obtained from the Philippines) to GCSE? I'm currently applying for a job in the UK, and I find it difficult converting it to UK's grading standard. Should I just indicate my grade according to Philippine grading system? Or do I really have to convert it to GCSE? I am clueless where I can have it converted for free. I have searched online and I cannot find a helpful answer. Thank you in advance. I will surely appreciate your time.
where online can i find a free phd degree instantly? ive already became an ordained minister now i want to be a college grad
I have a few questions about online college such as costs, grants, accreditability, ect.? I have a few questions about whether or not I should choose online schooling. I plan on eventually end with either a masters degree or a Ph.D. I only plan on doing online school until I get an associates degree. I want to eventually major in either environmental sciences, ecology, wildlife biology or the such. I was wondering if there were any accredited online colleges out there? If there are do they have a science based course or a biology major? What would the costs be? I am a 19 year old Caucasian male, single, no children, dependent on both parents. Father has not been around since I was 3 and more than likely will not pitch in for schooling. My mother is currently out of work and can not help me either. Her credit has recently been ruined as they tripled her interest rates and she can no longer pay. Another question would be am I capable of receiving a small loan or grant for a free laptop? I have many more questions but I do not want this to become overwhelming. Thank you for all answers! Even the sarcastic ones ;)
hey does anyone know where i can find phd phantasy degree online for free? i've checked pretty much everywhere? the author is son-hee-joon (i swear thats how its spelled it says so on the cover). its about the girl who goes to demon school hades to look for satan's legendary ring and uses it to become a guy to defeat notra's hellion-turned demonic boyfriend. THIS IS A MANGA TITLE NOT AN ACTUAL COLLEGE COURSE!!!!
Is it possible to get A+ certified in IT without attending college? Are there online resources, formal or not? How hard is the test? I have some background in IT from the military as a 25Q (Multichannel Transmission Systems Operator - Maintainer) and cross-training as 25F (Network Switching Systems Operator - Maintainer) but I never pursued it afterwords and instead pursued business. Now I have a desire to enter the IT field, but having spent four years in college for business I'm looking to avoid another 2-4 degree program. Where can I find the best resources? Books/Textbooks? Want to get a degree online? I am interested in getting a degree online...Online is very important due to having VERY little free time due to operating a home business and having FIVE children...but there seems to be a million online colleges and haven't found ONE with solid, positive reviews. This is kind of a 3 part question... 1) Are there any GOOD online colleges out there? 2) Is it possible to get financial aid to obtain a degree online? 3) If the online college is accredited but later is no longer accredited (for whatever reason) is my degree worthless? Thanks in advance!
How far could I go, testing out of college classes? I've recently been eating up all the free college level learning resources I can find online. I came across MIT's online course material and found that I can teach myself the material from HUNDREDS of MIT classes. In particular I've been looking at the Physics department. This got me thinking. If I were to teach myself all this material for free online, would I be able to test out of those classes at a university? I know it depends on different schools' policies, but does anyone think it could be possible to test out of the majority (if not all, depending) of the coursework required to get a degree? That would save a TON of money. Granted, I'd still have to pay testing fees, but it would be much less than tuition, books, housing, and whatever else I'd have to pay for.

Online Colleges that have free Laptop Programs with enrollment? I am wondering which Online Colleges offer laptops with enrollment? I know Stevens-Henager offers a MacBook Pro with their graphic design degree and an HP Laptop with their other courses. I am wondering what other online colleges offer the same type of laptop program with enrollment. And please no links to sites to compare colleges or anything like that. Just names of schools.

Which online college would gain more respect in the psychology employed world? I'm looking to get my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Due to many reasons; including a full time job and a family I'm looking to achieve that degree online. I've done some research and Penn State online and Columbia College online both have what I'm looking for. They both seem to be fully accredited (correct me if I'm wrong please). I'd like to know which one of these colleges will give me a little more respect over the other when entering the psychology employed world? (I hope to eventually get my Masters or PH.D in Clinical Psychology). If anyone has any experiences with either of these schools please feel free to share.
Someone asked 2 yrs ago about free universities and I found 2. Are there any free online Master's degre progr? I found an answers question that everyone had gotttten wrong in 2007. I just made a comment on it. There are Berea College in KY and Knoxville College in TN that hae free tuition. Also, there are work study programs that can help a student make up the difference in other expernses. Also there is a free church run college in Missouri that I do not remember. I want a master's degree program, tho. Is anyone familiar with any? I can go to school basically free because I am over 62 but I want credit and want to go to work in another field.
are online schools legitimate? I see a lot of "online colleges" that offer degrees all the way up the masters degrees and I cant help but think it seems a little bit sketchy. I am a full time touring musician and am looking to take online classes during my free time to earn an AA or Bachelors. Does anyone know of any legitimate online schools?
what are some online schools that offer a free laptop? I want to start college but there is only 1 computer in my house hold and two people use them day and night. I dont have money to buy a new one and i really want to persue my degree. can someone help me?
Is there anyway I can get my degree online for Early Childhood Education? I have a full time job, and have a family at home, one which includes a daughter who is under the age of 2, so I'm very busy. I have absolutely no free time to go to College. I even checked into my local tech college for extreme part time and I'd still have to go twice a week for three hours per night...I just can't do that. I'm very sketchy about these online colleges and some of them don't even offer your bachelors degree, it's just a certification for early childhood...I want the real thing, a bachelors degree so I can teach once I get done with it...are there any places online like this...please help! Thanks.
Is online school a promising career move? If i got a degree from an online school is it the same as getting one at a physical college?? Also which online schools are the best? Where can i get grants& free money for this b/c I am broke! How long does it take to complete a course?

Colleges degrees while in the military? I plan to serve about 4 years in the Air Force, since my parents are forcing me to enlist when I graduate high school. I know its possible to school and work while in the military, but do you think it would be too much pressure and strain? I know I could do things online, but i'm a hands on type of person. I like to have someone available in case I have questions or need help. Most bases [I think] offer some sort of schooling, or at the nearest college during nights. If I went straight to college, i'd major in Criminlogy, Journalism, or Sociology and minor in Psychology or Dance. So here's my plan so far. Enlist in the Air Force. Try to get a job that deals with writing [Journalism major] or Protective Forces [Criminology/Sociology/Psychology major]. As soon as I get settled in, begin classes either on base or at the nearest college, free of charge thanks to the military. By the time I get out in 4 or 5 years, id have my bachelors and could go on to work on my Masters, also fully paid for. Is this a good plan? REPLY TO THE FIRST RESPONE: Yeah. My mom mainly, my dad just goes with whatever shes says. She's basically in it for the money. She thinks theyll pay for my life of schooling and etc. I'll be makng money, and getting a degree, so im kind of like "whatever" now. But im DEFINITELY not staying in longer than 8 years. REPLY TO THE SECOND RESPONSE: I didnt think about the training and stuff i'll have to do, but I dont have much of a life so I think I can get it in 4 or 5 years. Im on a mission to!
Can anyone help me with deciding a career? I am asking for help from anyone who can help guide me to the best possible career for me. I want to find an online college that offers an associates degree in health and nutrition for children. I want to go work for my local Children's Medical Center, or If I can't get there, then I want to work with children. Children make me happy and they make me laugh. Having a career working with them would make my life less stressful and I hope I can make a really good living by doing that. I have looked and looked for online colleges, and haven't seen any that offer associate degrees in wellness and nutrition(or health). I have seen respiratory, occupational, and physical therapist assistant degrees, but I am afraid those are hard to understand careers. So If anyone can help me pinpoint what is out there for me, or give me free career counseling, I would appreciate it. I hope to hear back with answers.
Intelligence analyst and want to get a degree? I wanted to get an assciates degree online from the college of southern nevada while i'm in the army. (I leave for basic training in September) I am going in as an intelligence analyst. Will have time to complete my degree while still working? What kind of hours do intelligence analysts work? Do they get any free time?
Free Video College lectures? I enrolled for undergraduate degree in bachelor of commerce via online distance education. DO you know any website that offers lectures for FREE,
Online State College for Graduate studies (Masters or PhD)?
Question for people over 50 without a college degree.. Where to look for information? What book(s)? This is a question I'm trying to answer for my dad: careers he can explore pass the age of 50 without a college degree. He has a high school diploma and up to this point, he has held a steady job with a newspaper company but he needs to find work elsewhere very soon. What are some options he has? He brought up the idea of becoming a limo driver. He also wants to stay away (preferably) from office work since he's been involved with that type of work for a number of years. The job has to support a middle-class family. Are there any websites online where I can look for free information to answering this question? How about any recommended books/guides you know of? Please help me in anyway possible. It would be a great deed for me and my family. Thank you to all who reply!
What are some good, accredited schools that are all or almost all online, where I can get my Bachelor's Degree I have been led to dead ends by the local community colleges (one which I am an alumni) when I ask where I can get this degree. I was wanting a Bachelor's Degree in teaching. But I want to do it all or almost all of it online, in my spare/free time. I have 2 soon to be 3 children and am not able to go to classes at all. I would like to start working on getting my degree done, so when they go to school, I can go to work. I want the school to be accredited so I can actually use the degree.. and so I am not wasting my time. I currently have an Associates in Biological Science, Teaching, and just need the 2 more years for my Bachelors. Thank you!
How do you get financial aid for on-line colleges? I am thinking about switching to an online college for my(senior year) BS degree in Public Health Administration. I am an older adult student with alot of responsibilities. So,traditional college hasn't worked well for me. I am just afraid of losing my finanical aid and loans.I like the fact that I can do the courses on my own free time using my computer.and no driving 30miles one way for classes that last2-3 hours 3 times per week.
Does anyone know of any Texas colleges offering a Master's degree in human resource management? I've tried to find them through google but can only find online colleges. I need an actual brick and mortar institution, preferably in Houston. I did find that Texas A&M offers this degree but I know nothing about the school so if you know anything about it, feel free to include it in your answer. Please don't give any answers saying things like "use search engine this" or use this resource - I need specific names of schools that have this degree available. This is a serious inquiry. Thanks in advance.
how does the whole military/college thing work? i am signing up in the near future, i noticed that in order to be a pilot in the Air force, you have to be an officer, and in order to be an officer, you have to have a 4 year degree. so basically i am wondering when the college comes into play. is it online? do you go to class in your free time? do you go to college before/after your service? i would like to go to college, and join the military (not necessarily the air force) but i want to get an idea of what my future has in store for me.
Is a 100% online training program worth my time? There is a program free to military spouses that is 100% online and you get a certificate when your finished. It is not college and you get no degree or anything. I am a stay at home mom right now and when my son goes to school in a few years from now I want to work again. The programs are only 18 months and are in the medical field, like transcriptionist and dental office assistant and the like. Are they worth my time? Will it pay more? Someone told me I'm wasting my time if I do.
Digipen College, is it Worth It? I have looked online for colleges for Video Game degrees.. I have been searching for months.. I found that Westwood College has HUNDREDS of complaints and over 36 people suing them.. SO I won't go there. Collins college is a disgrace to Phoenix and has also had several complaints! That leaves me with the practically complaint FREE Digipen which I know is very famous. Has anyone been there? Is it worth it?? How expensive is it really? I would like a Bachelor of Arts in Game Design and my husband would take Bachelor of Science in Game Design.. How much would that cost us? I heard they are VERY expensive.. which is sad they are the only school I can find. My husband wants to do PROGRAMMING for video games and I want to do ART for video games. But most other schools are sad and terrible or have tons of complaints and poor reviews or dont offer the programing aspect for my husband. We would obviously move to the same place.. SO WHAT DO we do??
can i get one totally free without any? can i get a laptop totally free without having to sign up for anything stupid? i have 10 more credits for high school left, and i move around alot. im going to be taking some online college courses so i can have a bachelor degree. then im going to a four year to become a vet. so it is possible that there is somewhere that i can go to (in southern cali) or somewhere online where i can get a free laptop? i dont have the money for one, otherwise i would jus buy one. thanks! also wat will i have to do internet wise to do it while in the car?

Online universities? I have taken 140 or so credit hours of college work at a local university. However, not all of these 140 work toward a degree I can graduate with. And with the rising gas prices and not wanting to commute any longer I've been researching online degree programs. Have you personally earned a degree online? If so, from where? And what was your experience? Feel free to email me or IM me if you so desire. I look forward to any advice or comments you have. Thank you!
How much do people charge to put together your resume for you? I'm graduating from college with a degree in organizational communication and was going to start re-doing my resume and getting ready to get a job and was wondering how much those services or people who put together your resume charge? Please don't tell me there's free resume format things online. I want advice on how to organize it and wording to use as opposed to just filling in a template.

ITALIAN Translation needed! Without the use of online translators? I need to figure out how to say following in the simplest form without the use of an online translator: When I was three years old, I wanted to be an ice-cream man. I thought I could have all the free ice-cream in the world. When I was about 8 years old, I decided that I wanted to be a lawyer or a psychiatrist because they made a lot of money. When I was old enough to work, I started working in an office as a secretary. I had many jobs since then. At my last job I was the boss in an office. I quit working there and moved to Santa Cruz to go back to college. Now I am a senior and I will be graduating next week. It took 11 years to finish, but I am finally doing it. My friends, my husband’s mom and dad and my dad are coming to see me and we will all go out to dinner. My mother is very ill and cannot come which makes me sad. I will be the first one in my family with a college degree. During the summer I will be traveling to Europe for my vacation and for a wedding in Italy. After summer I will be moving to San Francisco with my husband and a friend. I want to go back to school and earn my master’s degree, but not in theater. I would like to work as a therapist for couples and their problems.
Where can I find American Lit. CLEP resources? I am going to clep American Literature for my college degree. I need to find online resources, textbooks, etc. to help me learn all of this material. Any free/cheap resources you can tell me about would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. :)
Earning an IT degree online? I'm not sure if it's ok to do so, but a majority of people think its ok. I was looking to get a bachelors degree majoring in network security. I found an online school called Western Governors University. Western Governors University is regionally accredited by four institutions, Western Association of Schools and Colleges Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities, Northwest Association of Schools and of Colleges and Universities Commission on Colleges and Universities, North Central Association of Colleges and Schools of Higher Learning Commission, which is four of the major accrediting commissions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. The reason why I want to do it online is because I found no program around my area that teaches network security. If you have any suggestions please feel free to respond.
I was wondering if anyone knew if there is any difference in getting your degree in criminal justice online or at a campus??? and has anyone heard of college students getting free computers???

Cheap Ways to Get College Credit? I'm a military student, and I'm trying to finish my my degree economically. I have over 90 credits. So far I have found the following resources: 1. Free FEMA Courses: http://training.fema.gov/IS/crslist.asp These courses are good knowledge and can count for college credit depending on what college you transfer them. I was attending Thomas Edison State College, so they took the raw transcript directly from FEMA. I didn't have to pay for any additional fees to transfer it to another school then back to TESC. 2. Global Elearning Solutions: http://www.globalelearningsolutions.net This was a very helpful service. I'm in the military so I wanted to gain my degree fast to get into an officer program. I didn't really have time to take semester classes, because of my work schedule. So I focused more on studying for CLEP exams. This services not only prepares you to take CLEP exams, but also pays for them. The cost of the CLEP or DSST exam is included in the price. I imagine that this is very good for civilians, military receives CLEP and DSST exams free anyway. The price is very cheap too, it is about $129 per course. That's a major savings if you are a civilian, in California it cost about $100 to take a CLEP exam and even more for the DSST exam. Then you have to buy books and test guides to study. Global offers interactive online courses are very comparable to college online courses; and they pay for the CLEP or DSST exam for only $129 . Depending on what course you take, you can earn 3-6 college credits per course. I've taken about 4 courses from them, and I'm planning to take three more to finish my degree in Business. I believe they are having a promotion now, if you register for one course then the second one is free. But I'm not sure how long that is going to be offered. Another good thing they offer is, before you register for a course they verify that your school will accept the credit. 3. Louisiana State University - Independent Study Courses http://www.is.lsu.edu/ If you need a lot of upper level credit, this was a cheap resource. They only cost $73 per unit. So a three credit course is only $219. I got most of my upper level credit from this school. Does anyone know of any other colleges or resources that offer cheap college credit???
Am I too good for online personals? Never married, never been in love, never smoker, sweet guy, intellectual, caring, impeccable speaker, 4yr college degree, notary public, never arrested, no tattoos or piercings, been single for a long time, have a pet bird, love children... I'm pure. Oh and should I do match.com/chemistry.com or a free site first?? Dating seems scary because I listen to Leykis 101 on the radio. -PETER San Diego, CA EDIT: And I have perfect credit, great spelling and grammar, I rarely curse. EDIT: I'm slim and I eat right and I like all foods and I like cats and dogs (sort of). But I am agnostic and politically I believe in Libertarianism. And I like Jeopardy but I am not Jeopardy-smart! P.S. I'm rich. But depressed. EDIT: This should be the last thing .... and I love the environment and nature and recycle everything I possibly can!! But now that I am this pure and an ornately unwrapped present, I can never marry because I would regret all the things I never tried or did.
How does one go about job searching online? I haven't decided if I should quit my job just yet. I mean, I wouldn't unless I found another one first. I have years of experience and some good references in both food service (cooking) and sales, and I have some college but no degree. For the past few years I've been attending school and caring for my children. There are gaps in my employment history and I don't have a resume together. I work full-time and have no free time to drive around and apply for jobs. So, given the information I just told you, where are some places where I could search and apply for jobs online? P.S. I'm asking here because the "Business & Finance" sections seem pretty vacant.
How do I find courses that are open coursework? I found out that colleges offer open coursework... where you don't have to pay for the online courses, you can take the studies for free, but you don't get a degree. All of the courses that I can find are from 2005-2007. Am I looking at the information wrong or is that the last time that they were offered? What can I do differently?
Legality of non-prescription Ultram online/questionnaire checkups and associated dangers.? To all those in the medical community: Since the age of 14 I have experienced extreme stabbing pains originating in my lower back descending down both or either leg. Furthermore, the pain often causes considerable nausea. Concerning this problem, I have visited doctors regularly for 8 years now. I was diagnosed with (what I worry is a bogus etiology) Degenerative Disk Disease. I regularly engage in core muscle exercises and stretching therapy - which although helps some; does not suffice to adequately reduce pain. I swing from strong aches to immobility. On a good day, I walk with a slight limp. On a bad day, I walk with a cane; if I walk at all. I have spent various degrees of time over the past 8 years taking medicines which include; celebrex, nuerontin, robaxin, and hydrocodone; as well as having received a spinal epidural. Currently, I am taking ultram and exercising regularly. This has kept my mind clear, as well as has not encouraged respiratory problems such as hydrocodone did. Although this regiment helps more than any previous treatment, it does not always suffice to adequately reduce pain. Recently, as I finished school; I was taking 100-150mg Ultram, 1800mg Ibuprofen, and exercising regularly. This kept me quite mobile and pain free. Upon graduation, crashed economy, not finding a job, etc – I have had to return, again, to manual labor. Again, my entire body aches/hurts constantly. Now, I exercise, take 2400 mg Ibuprofen, and up to; but no more than, 300 mg Ultram daily (still less than the FDA’s maximum daily dose of 400mg). I have had swings like this before; and am well aware that once I can return to less physical work I will be able to greatly reduce my intake. My most recent MRI states: …decreased signal intensity of the intervertebral discs at L4-5 and L5-S1, consistent with disk degeneration and decreased water content…. bulging of L4-S1 disc…. Area of altered signal involving disc – central and extends adjacent to the S1 nerve root. Most likely etiology is disc herniation with some adjacent granulation tissue or fibrosis. However, I have yet to meet a doctor who would recommend surgery or anything invasive on an individual my age. I am essentially left in limbo to do nothing but hurt – while at the same time bombarded with individuals in and out of the medical field shouting the dangers of prescription medicine use. I have recently graduated school – and am ineligible to visit my prior doctor at the University Clinic, and am again without insurance. Therefore I am unable to refill my Ultram. So now I am faced with the blissful prospect of paying $150-300 (which I don’t have) simply to speak to YET another new doctor – explain my situation – and look like a junkie because I have no prior history with this new doctor; OR purchase this medicine online and avoid the whole aggravating mess. I have put myself through college, twice, while on pain-killers. I have yet to miss a day of work or class, receive anything less than excellent grades, or damage any personal relationship due this prescription – my family is well aware of my prescription. Quite frankly in my experience with tramadol, I am unaware of any side-effect which would encourage abuse. So please do not: 1) Say; “go visit with your doctor”. I have seen thousands of individuals on this site explain they have no insurance; only to be answered with; “Pills are bad – you should go speak to your doctor”. That is both a fruitless answer; as well as ill-contemplated. If they could easily afford to speak to a doctor – they would. 2) Narrate a story of your loved ones pill habit or how addicted you are/were. I am an extremely productive member of society and it is only my distaste for excruciating pain that stands in the way of my immediate quitting. And regardless, in a week when my prescription does run out – I will be quitting; pain or no pain. At which point, I will become useless to all those around me again. My Questions: 1) I am looking for any/all recommendations for this situation. 2) What daily mg quantities indicates addiction (Approximation obviously)? 3) What would you recommend in place of exercise and Ultram? 4) Is there new research (outside of what is obviously posted on the internet) on the application of Ultram on Depression. Half the individuals on here claim it helps immensely, the other half say it only encourages their depression. All I am aware of is that since I have begun Ultram; my mood swings have diminished. Essentially every male in my family has been diagnosed with Bipolar I. Even my brother has recently been diagnosed with Cyclothymia. I appear (since 2007) to be the only male in my family who maintains a stable mood. I am not manic, sluggish, unreliable, bouncy, stoner-like, or any other adjective associated with opium use. I simply find this curious – and am enjoying my new lack of depressive lows and anxiety attacks. T
Thinking of doing some online courses....? that will give me enough knowledge to go out and get a job without having to go back to college. I went to college during high school and have an Associate's Degree in Collision Repair Technology (auto body) but it's not what I want to do. (It was a free ride all through college paid by my high school so I decided to give it a shot.) I am stuck working at a call center talking on the phone 10hrs a day and want to better myself to make more money and support my son, but not sure which course is going to be the best. Something in the business field, but not sure what. I majored in business in high school until I went to college so I am "ok" with accounting and stuff like that. Any advice?
Is there anywhere where I can take some college type courses online for free but not for degrees or anything? Just to keep my brain working? I can't afford college at the moment and I'm unable to work, but I would like to be able to do something to keep myself smart. Can anyone suggest some websites or something?
Need answers about College life and what to expect. I've been out of high school for a number of years now, and I'm trying to go back. I got a decent job that I do well at, and I got married, had a kid, and got a mortgage. Now I'm tired of paycheck to paycheck in a job I'm not sure I'll stay at forever. I am wanting to attend Tennessee State University for a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. They have a minority scholarship for Caucasian people. I think the only requirement I don't meed is a 2.5 gpa in high school. Life wasn't serious back then, and I had to go through a lot so I am just happy I'm here today. So here's my questions. 1. If I attain scholarships and grants, how long do they last, and do I get penalized or blacklisted if I don't get to use them before they expire? 2. Where do I go to take care of prerequisites, and do these grants or scholarships cover said prerequisites? 3. I work 50 hours/week, how many hours and days does a full time student attend classes? They don't have the Engineering degree for nights :(. 4. How many hours and days per week does a part time student attend classes? 5. Do said scholarships still apply for part time students? 6. Does anyone know how much this minority scholarship will cover? 7. Can some needed courses in math and science be taken online? (this doesn't include prereqs) 8. Is there someone I could talk to at TSU that can help me get an entire 4 year plan made up so I know exactly what to expect. 9. Do scholarships and grants cover book costs? If not I will most likely get a tablet pc or e-book type thing. Are the books available for download? (Not talking about illegal free stuff) I know this was a HUGE post, and I thank anyone who has even paid attention to it. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to those of you who reply. Thank you! ||||||||||EDIT|||||||||| In response to your post, I have to ask about prereqs again. In high school I did a lot of goofing, and had no parents to reign me in. I'm sure I just took basic math's maybe algebra or pre algebra, and just basic classes. Teachers always wanted to move me up to advanced classes, but I was hardheaded. I have no secondary language (currently studying one on my own), and my high school transcript is probably going to look like something that dropped out of a cows' ***. You are saying that any "prereqs" i'll need to take is going to be part of my college course list?
Re-Joining the Army? Here are my concerns: Will I DEFINATLY be stationed at the same duty station as husband? When requested, will I definatly be deployed with husband? If I recertify for another MOS, can I get Lasik BEFORE I go back to AIT? I am currently taking online classes with University of Phoenix, when I rejoin, will it be free? Or a bigger discount? I can't use the education center for free college because they dont support my desired degree, so I have to go out of the class list the military offers. I don't want to get seperated. I don't want to get deployed one year, then my husband deploys the next. I don't want the kids to ALWAYS be without one parent.
Best Job/Career in the Travel Industry? I recently discovered I have a passion for travel, and am looking for a job/career that would allow me to travel for free/cheap around the world. The options I have now are: 1. Work for an airline (I'm going to start working on a college degree soon, so perhaps an office job) 2. Travel agent (most liekly online, where I can try and get an IATAN card for discounts) 3. Become a Group Tour Operator( I have heard a bit about this, but not too much. basically I would take groups of people on trips and be eligible for a free ticket. I'm sort of an introverted person, so I don't know if this is the best option, depending on how outgoing one would need to be) Which is the best option for me that provides the best perks? any other options would be greatly appreciated.
Psychology degree? I think this is what I want to do...? So, Im so tired of deciding what I want to do with a career. I just want to do something that Im am interested in. My end goal is to teach at a community college or at an online college. My mom teaches for Kaplan, and it's great. Anyway, I do not plan on stopping after my bachelor degree, and I plan on continuing to get my masters, and then maybe a doctorate. I am sort of interested in being a school social worker. How does that work? My aunt has a psychology degree and works as one, and I think she likes it. If I did decide to stop after my bachelor degree for a while, is there a chance I would be able to find a job somewhere? What does the pay look like? Im not in it for the money, but I don't want to work for free either?
Penn Foster Human Resource Management? I wanted to know is the penn foster college online in the Human Resource Management program worth it in my situation? I want to become a Human Resource Assistant. I love doing administrative work! I could also become an administrative assistant as an option. I am not planning on going to get a bachelor degree, although a few colleges might accept them since there approved by ACE. The reason why I don't want to go to college is because in a couple more years from now my family is started a business and I'm going to be working at the business. The thing is I just got out of debt and now I am debt free in 2009. And if things don't fall through with the family business I would want to gain an education and make a career to support myself. What is your suggestion? Thank You!
How can an American citizen apply for a UK work visa? I've done tons of research but not having much luck about how and where I should apply for a UK work visa. Everything is so vague. I'm 26, single, have a college degree and years experience in sales. My primary goal is to travel once in the UK and not looking for a serious career. More interested in working a small job like a bar and spending my free time traveling and experiencing the European culture. Possibly later Id be interested in seeking a more established career once I've finished traveling. The only Visa I've found that seems to fit me is a Holiday Visa but the UK isn't accepting American citizens for this visa. *What kind of visa should someone like me apply for? *Where online should I apply? *What's a good link to find jobs like working in a bar/restaurant in London? *What other helpful information can secure my chances of getting a UK Visa?
