Should i get an MBA degree from a top college? I am a junior in college and am contemplating whether or not i should try to get into a top mba program like berkeley, stanford, or ucla right after i graduate. Too many people have college degrees, why don't college students understand supply and demand? Unless you study at one of the top universities, getting a college won't do you much good. Some people major in careers that just won't do them any good such as Philosophy, Communication, Theatre, Journalism, and Art. Some careers sound promising, but unless you study at a top college, a Business or Psychology major won't do you much good. People should quit college as soon as they learn Supply & Demand. If there are a lot of people getting college degrees, the value of these will go down. There are a lot of unemployed college graduates right now. There are many college graduated working minimum wage jobs. They still have to pay their college debts on top of it all. Some people who never went to college are doing better. They have no college debts, and they have more years in the work force making money. If college students learn about supply and demand, why don't they quit college?

America was built on the many contributions of immigrants, but now you say you've had enough of those contributions, let's just get those people out. If this sort of racist policy making had been sucessful during the early years of our country, many such as the Irish, Italians, and Germans, would not be here today and America would be a very differnet place as a result. These are poeple that are paying taxes and for the most law abiding. They want what so many before them wanted, a chance at a decent life. They are not a strain on our economy, they are not collecting welfare checks or even unemployment, they are working the jobs that many of us deam too lowly and they do it so proudly because it is an opprotunity. There was an interesting article in the LA Times recently that basically dispelled the myth that immigrants were a finnancial drain, of course none of this has to do with facts, at least not on the anti-immigrant end, it has top do with racsim, let's just call it what it is.

It is to give the university more fame, and then the celeb will probably donate money to them. I have a college degree and I still cant find a decent job? I worked my tail off for 4 years and 12K in debt to obtain a bachelors degree in social science. I know its not a top rated degree. But its what I enjoy. I love reading, writing, and oral communciations.. I have applied at career fairs, careerbuilder, Monster, yahoo hot jobs and many other job sites with no luck. I have been trying to get into Pharmaceutical Sales. I have two years sales experience, three years nursing, and a BA. I dont buy into the notion you need a BS in biology or bio-chemistry and look like a supermodel to land a job in Pharm sales. I have the background to succeed. But even so, I still have applied at less paying jobs with no response. I applied for a teaching position a while back and was told they would get back to me if they were interested. Do Web Designers & (light) Web Programmers usually have CS degrees (if they went to college)? My degree is in Economics, but I'm self-taught in web design/programming. Why is a college degree now so useless? We keep getting higher tuitions, from which we in no way benefit from; taking our money to subsidize sports teams very few people care about, combined with rapidly disappearing jobs. We are in unbelievable amounts of debt and yet tuition keeps rising even at in-state colleges. And to top it all of, the degree now means less and less to employers and we have debt loads of 40, 50, sometimes even bordering 100 grand. How did the system get so fuuucked?

I almost got into a top college - why? I'm a person of average intelligence with some college. I was educated at a school that has average admissions standards - nothing special. Anyway, just for fun I wanted to see if I could transfer into a really good school. This school requires an essay for admission, but I did not apply as an undergrad. I applied as a "non-degree" student, meaning that I could take classes at that top college - but not for a degree. Curious what this means. Example, suppose just for fun you want to take classes at Harvard, but not for a degree. So you apply just for fun, and to your surprise you are allowed to take classes there. (This school I applied to wasn't Harvard - but it was a good school.) Anyway - I wonder in most schools what "non-degree" means, and why are the admissions standards so lax? This is a Q about your specific intellectual goals as a learner in school with respect to your interests in acquiring knowledge and learning to think by getting an education from people smarter or more knowledgeable than you are or were at the time. Can you get into top colleges like Rice University or MIT if you go to early college high school? I'm planning on graduating from early college high school with my high school diploma and associates degree. I have 4.1 GPA and all my SAT scores are above 2200. One of them is a perfect score. Talents: I can play the violin very well. I used to be in many school organizations in my old high school before moving to early college, like National Honor Society. I was the vice president in it. So, I was wondering if it's possible for me to get accepted into a top university like Rice since I live in Houston,TX. It doesn't have to be an Ivy league university. I would really like to get into MIT since I plan to study mechanical engineering and business. I'm not graduating early. I'm still going to four years of high school. But in early college high school, you get opportunities to take college classes for credits. therefore you graduate with a high school diploma and an associate's degree.

Attend your top school and graduate in debt or get a free ride for college? I have a big dilemma. I applied to two universities. George Mason University (Top pick school) and Norfolk State University (last resort/fall back school) and got accepted at both. My top school I really want to attend is George Mason, but the total sum of all my grants and scholarships will not cover my tuition for the year. However, if settle for my fall back school and attend Norfolk State I'll have basically a free-ride for college meaning I'll pay no money out of my pocket because I have financial aid. My main goal with college was to graduate with absolutely no debt/loans. I do not want to spend a large portion of my life paying student loan bills. And for so long I was deadest on not borrowing any money. But now that I know I won't have enough money for George Mason, I'm wondering if I should suck it up and borrow the money. Or should I give in and attend the lesser school and graduate debt-free. {My Question for everyone:} If given the choose of earning a college degree debt-free or with debt, which path would you choose? Would you borrow all the loans needed to attend your top/dream school - no matter how much it is. Or would you go with the “free-ride” - the school in which your grants and scholarships would cover everything? As for me, I’m leaning towards the free-ride school, because I really don’t want debt, especially with how the economy and the future is looking as of now. How did Obama make it to the top colleges? He graduated Columbia and then went to Harvard even though he didn't have enough money to ride the bus. How do i decide what i want to do before i start college? Im still in high school but very eager to begin my college journey. I have my top 4 college picked out. Are United States BA degrees valid in Spain? My daughter is in her last year of college and will have a BA in Spanish (Foreign Languages) and Criminal Justice. She wants to move to Spain. Will her degrees be honored/valid in Spain? She attends one of the top 20 colleges in the states.
