The thing is that CSU Fullerton has two majors that seem like they would work for me: Communications (Advertising) and Business Administration (Marketing) Of course, since I want to work in marketing the business major in marketing seems appropriate, but isn't communications more what I would need, rather than business? Help?

What school should i go to for starting a business? BCIT or Camosun College? Hi, i live in Victoria, BC and I have a driving power to be a entrepreneur after high school and have many ideas for internet based business (not the next facebook lol i am no chump) but i have some good ideas and i have researched and just want to support myself. But what i have read somewhere is that having SOME (underline) formal training in business will help a little to know what to do, besides that i read alot of books on starting businesses and whatnot. But I am choosing between Camosun College ( http://camosun.ca/learn/programs/mark/ ) the college everyone goes in Victoria, it is like a upgrading college to further your career and is known for its trades and culinary arts but I am not sure i want to take a business course there. The course i was looking at in Camosun college is their Business Administration - Marketing Option. Then there is BCIT ( http://www.bcit.ca/study/programs/7820acert ) which is on the mainland which i overall wish to move to in a end result but they have a course called the Venture Program aimed at people who want to start their own business and get a good grasp on entrepreneurship to go out there and do it. I like the look and feel of the venture program more then Camosun's but I am thinking do i need a more a 2-4 year program at Camosun to start my business or a 3 month program at BCIT and get the raw essentials to start my business. I hate asking for peoples advice on this sort of thing but what to all of you think? what do you think is a better choice. Plus i would save a crap load of money if i went for the venture program and their program is more known and credited.
I am a senior studying business administration and marketing. I am thinking of switching fields to biology.? I excelled in biology, chemistry, and physics in high school. I also did well in statistics in college. I have become interested in the optometry field and wondered if any one had any suggestions for me? I know that I need to take some courses that are required to apply to optometry programs. I would prefer not to take undergraduate classes once again and maybe obtain these courses at a masters level; however, I am not aware if this could be done. Please help me to clarify my options. Also could I save time and not get a full degree in biology and just take the required courses to apply for the program? I am looking at schools in FL. Thank you in advance. ---- -- Bobby said that I could make more money business, to an extend this may be true; However, it is hard to find a business and or marketing job in this economy. Specializing is key with being general. That is why I did business administration and marketing. ----- -- Dear Jadelee, I currently go to NSU and I will be graduating with two bachelors' degrees in business adminstration and marketing. Do you think that it will make me more competitive with two business undergraduate degrees? Please disregard the graduate major comment, it is not possible. I appreciate your help :)

Business Administration major...is it for me? I'm currently in community college and am going to a university in the fall to pursue a BA in Business Admin. but I don't know if it's the right major for me. I've been taking accounting, econ, and business law courses and am certain that I don't want to pursue any of those concentrations. The only thing that interests me is marketing, but I don't know much about it and I don't think I'm the kind of guy that is suited in that field. I feel this way because I am a VERY quiet guy, kind of shy, and usually doesn't have much to say. When I think of marketing, I see the complete opposite. I see a guy who is extremely energetic, a people person, and a guy who is certain of what he wants out of life. Is this just a misconception? I'm very lost and just need some advice. Also, marketing was the most attractive concentration because it doesn't sound boring. All the others sounds very repetitive and/or uninteresting. I do plan on taking a marketing course in the fall. Thanks "neniaf" for the great answer. I did take a course that was aimed to help me decide what appeals to me; it said that I would be best suited for accounting or a computer programmer, but after taking a computer science and 2 required accounting courses, I find that it was definitely a bad fit for me. Maybe I should take the test again. That said, I will follow your advice and take that marketing course and talk to an adviser about the career options with a marketing major. Thanks! Any additional advice is welcome!

Is someone with a D.B.A. in Marketing eligible to teach Business Management courses? Let's say, someone has a DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) with a concentration in Marketng....... are they eligible to teach Business Management courses?
I have bachelor in Business Administration ... What MAster program do you think will go well with that?!? Lot's of my former colleagues got accepted in different MBA Programs, but most of them got disappointed, because they study almost the same things, we studied during the 4 years of our Bus. Admin bachelor degree. I graduated in Business Administration (Concentration Marketing), and I think there's no point to continue with MBA program if I'm not going to learn anything new. I checked different programs through the Internet, but it appears that most of the courses are overlapping with what I've studied during my bachelor years. So in your opinion what except MBA could go well with my bachelor degree? Thank you :)
How much detail is there to learn about large business operations? Deciding on a College: Business courses and which college to go to? Hello, im a Canadian high school graduate and im currently on a victory lap. I came back to get my head around what I wanted to do. I had originally thought I wanted to go into graphic design, but I decided that wasn't for me. Now im thinking business is the way to go, specifically business administration or possibly marketing. Problem is I need to decide on a college and course soon, but I don't know much about the course and school options in that field. I don't have great grades (average is probably a 65) because I slacked off a lot thinking this was stupid. But I ended up with a counselor for awhile who said I showed an aptitude for it. If you have any advice on the matter, i'd love to hear. Thank you.
How much does the specificity of my business admin degree affect my future job options? So I'm a senior in college and I'm majoring in business administration. When I do go out and look for an entry level position... how closely related will it have to be to actual business administration? Lately i'm really interested in marketing (i've taken several marketing courses as a part of my larger degree) but my degree isn't specific to marketing as a lot of universities offer. Does this limit me significantly?
Business Degree Choice? Which degree in your opinion is a better choice and more marketable and why (please just stick to these 2 choices)? Both degrees have the same exact business core courses (Financial and Managerial Accounting, Business stats, Macro/Micro Econ etc.) like most business degrees. The 2 choices are a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (broader ranging no specific specialization, includes "five" upper division business courses that can vary from marketing to management etc.). The other choice is a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management same core business courses as previous degree except specialization requires "six" upper division courses comprised of (3 marketing courses and 3 management courses with half of those required specialization courses being specific management/marketing courses). Thanking you all in advance!

Is there any Marketing/Advertising -stand alone- Degree programs? Is there any Marketing/Advertising -stand alone- Degree programs? I'm trying to find a college that has a stand alone, extremely strong focus on Market/Advertising degree programs.... That is not an ONLINE College! I tried to search on google all I got is those online colleges, or colleges who offer courses in Marketing within the Business Administration Degree. FYI: I am taking my Business Administration B.S. degree right now, but I want a strong amount of knowledge in Marketing/Advertising... Is this possible? I dont want just 1 course... I want a whole program for it..

Jobs for Psychology majors with business minor? HR/Marketing? I'm a college student working on my BA in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration. I've been exploring the different career paths I can go down once I graduate with this degree and I've been focusing on these: Human Resources - I saw that HR Generalists need 3-5 yrs HR experience to get this job. However, to be an HR Assistant you only need a high school diploma. Is there any in between or other entry level jobs in HR that don't require experience? What is the pay for these jobs? Marketing - I'm interested in this field, but I don't want a job in SALES. I was considering PR or Advertising, but I'm not sure what jobs new graduates can get. Also, I heard the starting salary in Marketing is extremely low. I'll have my bachelors degree, so I don't think it's crazy to expect a salary of $30,000 just out of college. Is this possible in these fields? If not, what other fields should I look into with this degree? When I looked online, those with bachelors degrees in business had an average salary of $46,000 a year and these jobs are in the business field. So, what gives? My long term goal is to go to graduate school and get my MBA or something along those lines, but I'll of course need work experience first. I know salaries vary by location, so I'll tell you that I'll be working in Charlotte, NC. I just want to be able to make a living and not make what I make now ($11/hr) even with a degree. If that's the case, why even have one?
Accounting or Marketing in college? Next year I will hopefully be going to Algonquin and taking the 3 year business administration course. In this course the first year is general business then the last 2 I pick something to major in. Which would be easier to find a job? Which would make more money? There is also International Business, Human resources and financial services. Would any of these be better?

which school major should i take for college? These are my interests, in no particular order, of course. Im considering majors in business administration, marketing, management, finance, economics, or high school teaching. I also like the idea of being my own boss or leader. i read somewhere that economics kind of round all of the business part up, so im thinking an economics major.. But I've been researching online and it might be hard to find a business job with that plus, an article said the economics teacher might be the loneliest of all teachers.. economics can take me into two different routes, such as the business field, or the teaching field. I can also major in mathematics, but I cant think of anything else they can do besides mathematician for the government. i want to find a major that will open many doors and opportunities. Kind of like a back up plan..

What business major to specialize for? So I am switching from Computer Science to a Business Major because I just can't remember all the computer stuff and having a hard time. I like it as a hobby, but doing IT support which I am doing part time now is not my type of job. So, I took a small business class and economics in HS and I really liked them so I figured trying out business would be a good option. I am taking a sales course and microeconomics course next semester with some other electives to finish my computer associates then I am going to a 4 yr. Now I was wondering what the best business major would be. I know of Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, and Accounting. I heard accounting is tough and really boring from friends, so I have been looking into Marketing or Finance. I am trying to find a degree that will be easy to find jobs with and doesn't involve traveling much. I don't want to have to move to a big city just to have a job. Can anyone explain a little about each major and give some suggestions?

How to get into show business? Please read? I am 20 years old college student study and live in New York City. I have done some acting in high school. I can sing and dance, both which I am still learning. I love to listen to Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Dean Martin. I also love Broadway and MGM musicals. My style of singing is jazz, rock & roll, and crooning. My major in college is business administration (particularly in the concentration of international trade, marketing, and finance). I can sing and I can sing good, but I don't have any background in music, whether playing music or reading notes. Now I want to start off as a singer/dancer or actor on Broadway, then may be later on to the movie industry. What college courses should I study? Where should I start, would you say Broadway or some small theater? Who should I contact or look for to have myself and my talent to be discover? How should I market myself?

Accounting or Marketing? I am a second year accounting major with a marketing concentration in my current university. This semester I am taking Financial Accounting, yet found it dull. So thinking of to switch to marketing major with a concentration in business administration. But before I do so, I have the following questions: 1)How is the job placement with a BA degree in marketing or business administration? 2)Is marketing very math oriented (Disclaimer: I hate math.)? I talked to my accounting professor yesterday and was informed that I have an A- in the class. However, I am working really hard to pull that A-. (Working really hard= reading and practicing accounting almost everyday!) Nevertheless this is only an introductory accounting course. If I continue in this pattern will I end up failing Intermediate Accounting? Lastly, can anyone provide me an insight of what “Cost Accounting” and “Auditing” is really like? Thanks!

Pleeease help I have questions about getting a masters in business (no adviser wants to talk to undergrads)? Hi everyone, I will be very thankful if you answer these questions. I am a sophomore at a university, and I am majored in Business management. Ok, I plan to get a masters degree in business administration (maybe marketing or management) The problem is time, it's a big issue I need to go back to my country as soon as possible, I was having a plan of finishing my masters 1 and 1/2 year after my bachelors but they told me that first you have to have work experience before you return for masters is that true? If yes, how many years? Secondly I've heard that nobody is granted the possibility to return for a masters, you have to have a certain GPA or GMAT scores, otherwise there are some courses you need to retake to return, is that true? (my GPA so far is about 3.20) Third question is about the joint program, that takes 5 years (insted of doing bachelors+2 years, which I'm doing now) Is it too late to change to that program (I don't wanna loose my previous credits)thnx
How to become a middle/high school teacher? How do you become a middle/high school teacher? I have a desire to teach either middle or high school level. I have a BBA degree [Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing]. What are the steps I need to take to become a teacher? I heard people say I have to get certified, how does that work? Are there additional courses I have to take at a college? How long is the process? Are there any full-time teachers out there that can give an advice?

In what states is any degree from ITT Tech accepted? How much money is it to attend per term, roughly? I intend to take an online course: Business Administration, Bachelor of Science, Marketing Option. Anyone who has completed this course, could you please answer me: how many terms/semesters does this program take/have in total? 'What' is the difference between a term and semester, if any, anyway? Which states accept a degree from ITT Tech? How much money would I end up paying? Per term/semester? After a whole year? After I finish the whole program? They 'will' send me by certification of program completion, won't they? What kind of equipment would I need for this course (example: laptop, capacity in laptop -- hard-drive, hertz, RAM -- hardware, software, etc.)? And lastly, it's understood some interaction between peers is still required for assignment completion? How would that work? I ask so much only because I prefer knowing the pros and cons of things before committing myself to anything. And before giving the school my basic information, such as phone number/e-mail address... Thank you so much in advance. P.S. If it was up to me, 50 points would go to anyone who can answer me these questions! First, thank you for answering my questions at all DEE W and Desert Fox. I guess your answers answer it. ITT Tech is out of my options. I come upon horror stories after horror stories about this school. Oh, well... I guess AWC state college it is. Thanks so much for your input!

I'm about to start community college and would like advice on what to major in I'm going to get my AA and then transfer. Based on the AA major list I have narrowed down my choices. Considering what I am good at, I have decided on Accounting, because ever since a young age I have been a freak at math. I looked a little bit closer at the required classes and such, and discovered that Accounting, Business Administration, Economic (Business), and Finance/Marketing all have the same required courses but different recommended electives. I've decided to start on the required and choose what I want to transfer in at a later time. However, I recently looked into Information Technology because that term seems so vague and non descriptive to me I decided to look into. From what I have found it seems to be like business with a little computer programming. Computers have always been one of my strong sides as well, it was always so easy to me. Any ideas or advice on what I should consider doing in the long run? I still have plenty of time to make up my mind but when the time comes to decide, I want to be sure. Thanks in advance.
What types of jobs would be associated with microeconomics? I'm taking an introductory economics course as part of my studies in business administration, and I've really enjoyed the material on microeconomics. What types of careers would someone specializing in microeconomics work in? Market research and procurement are a few that come to mind -- any others? Thanks!
Finance Degree question? I have a finance degree with 30 credits in Finance and 30 credits in Business Administration but my school gave me a degree stating Bachelor of Business Administration. To me that is an insult because anybody can have a Bachelor of Business Administration but my school is not giving me my proper credit for putting in all that hard work in finance course by giving me Bachelors of Business Administration. My transcripts say Bachelor of Finance but my degree says Bachelor of Business Administration. What can I do to stand out from the crowd in my resume from those who have management, International Business, marketing, entrepreneurship, and etc majors? Because my friend has a degree from the University of Florida and it says Bachelor of Science in Finance.
Need your advice fast...be a marketing assistant or technical support rep? I am really confused which job i should choose. I am a Business Administration fresh graduate. I was offered to be a marketing assistant for a huge mall in our city which is very related to the course that i graduated but the salary is probably just basic salary. Another job option is that i was referred by a friend working in a call center to be technical support rep. The salary in the call center is one of the highest paid among the rest and the training there is one of the best in town. Unfortunately, i am quite hesitant because of the odd working hours late at night and the shifting of schedules every two weeks. Others say the job is worth since the pay is really great with bonuses. Now i am really confused which job is a lot better.I wanted the high salary but rather would not take it if the job makes me feel bad. Please i really need your advice coz tomorrow morning i will have an interview for the office job.
Should I change careers and go to dental school at age 30? I'm at a crossroads of sorts. My father is a dentist (DDS) and owns his own practice. He is retiring in the next 6 years and has always dreamed of having one of his children take over his practice. Well since I happen to be the youngest of his 3, I would be that child. However, I am already 30 years old! I am also married with a 2 year old and have worked as an advertising executive for the past 8 years. Also, I completed my bachelors degree in 1999! I went to the University of Southern California and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration (emphasis in marketing). The only science courses I took was Physics and some random Earth science class. I think my overall GPA was 3.0 or less! Am I just way in over my head? Should I just ask my dad to stop dreaming and live with the reality that he will have to sell his practice to a non family member? By the way, I am all for this if it makes sense and isn't just a pipe dream. Financially, my husband works so we could skate by.

Question about extra classes? I'm finishing up my last year of college next semester. I'll have a BS in Business Administration with the Specialization in General Business. I do well in Accounting, Marketing and HR courses. I'm interested in HR and the community college I went to (and graduated) has Human Resource Management. I can't switch my Specialization now because it would take more time and I would to make more money when I'm done. Should I take the course at the community college? I'm only taking four courses next semester at the college I go to and I work on the weekends. I'm going for it and I'll take more courses to make my resume more marketable. I chose the General Business because I wasn't sure what area I wanted to go into, but I have a better idea now. I'm just afraid I might not find a job when I graduate.
Dual Study program? Currently, i study my BA Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, and at the same time i am following a BA Degree in Business Administration. I need your advice?
Please help me with editing! 10pts for best one!? Changing the wording is ok, just not the info. I am Brazilian, but for the past 12 consecutive years I have been living in the United States. All of my studies (from 7th grade up to college) were completed here. I graduated from Kennesaw State University in July of 2007 with a Bachelors in Business Administration double majoring in Management and Marketing. The course duration stipulated by Kennesaw State University specializing in one major is supposed to last 4 years, but with hard work and determination I was able to complete 2 majors in 2 years and 11 months. Besides fluent English, I also speak fluent Spanish, and have studied French for 4 years. As far as work experience goes, I have done numerous translation/interpretation volunteer work for all of the above mentioned languages for a long period of time. In March of 2007 I had participation in the organization of the National Collegiate Sales Competition which had the involvement of 50 universities and 49 companies such as Hewlett Packard, Johnson & Johnson, and AT&T. At National Construction Law Center, my responsibilities included but were not limited to: database entry/management, generating leads, and translation/interpretation services. At Mag’s Upholstery, I was in charge of all client relations, supply chain management, schedules, and marketing efforts such as the company’s website. As the office assistant of Marietta Middle School, I was in charge of activities such as translation and interpretation, management of student files, registration, etc. Sorry.. I should've been more specific. This is NOT a cover letter. I'm actually apply for a master's in international management program in Brazil, and this was the question: "PLEASE DESCRIBE YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND JOBS YOU HAVE HELD. (PLEASE USE SEPARATE SHEETS IF NECESSARY.)" The text I added was my reply to it.
Please help me!!! I am getting very frustrated... What college degrees should I go for? What college do you think I could get into? I go to Culver Military Academy, one of the best private boarding schools in the country. I average about a 3.3 here, which is pretty good for this place. Ever since I was a little kid I have been CRAZY about money! When I was 11 I started investing in the stock market, and have been enjoying that for about 6 years. I have always wanted to own my own company. What would degree programs would be best for me? Undergrad. first of course. Finance? Business Administration? Real Estate? Entrepreneurship? What? please be specific! ALSO, WHAT KIND OF JOBS COULD I GO FOR AFTER COLLEGE, THAT WILL BE GOOD PAY? I WILL INVEST A GREAT DEAL OF MY MONEY MADE, AND WILL START A BUSINESS WITH IT! ACCORDING TO WHAT YOU HAVE READ ABOVE, WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS DO YOU THINK I SHOULD START? LIKE AN INVESTING COMPANY, REAL ESTATE, OR WHAT??? THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP! ONE MORE THING. I LIVE IN INDIANA. IF AFTER COLLEGE, I GET A JOB IN FINANCE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, HOW MUCH COULD I START OFF MAKING IF I GRADUATE FROM A WELL KNOWN SCHOOL? APPROX? AND IN WHAT EXACT PROFESSION? THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
how do I get into the accounting field? I have a B.S. in Business Administration and when I graduated I had enough credits to obtain a concentration in either marketing OR accounting, but at my university we couldn't choose both. So I decided to go with Marketing as that was the path I was on and I thought I would be really interested in it. Unfortuantely, it didn't work out for me, just not my thing. I would like now to get into accounting. I am willing to go back to school but would prefer some work experience so I know what I'm really dealing with. I graduated in 2003, so although I had a ton of accounting classes, without practical use I forget almost everything.. I felt confident in accounting courses though and did well. What should my next step be? My one issue is that I have a good job now, as far as pay/benefits/etc, and although I can probably afford to take a cut if it means a greater reward in the (near) future, I'm not able to risk my current job for something that may not end up being better..
