Business Administration=Management? The university I plan to go doesn't suggest a BA in Business Administration, unlike private schools in my country that are too expensive. The university offers a bachelor degree in Management - the courses are basically the same as Business Administration but the name is different. It makes me not want to go through with this, do the same as Business Administration students and get less recognition for it because my country calls it "Management". Am I right? Please, any knowledge you have might help. The university, however, offers MBA to Management grads. I plan to get a second Business Administration degree in the United States and I'm worried that "BA in Management" won't quality/count or won't be "prestigious" enough. Am I right? Can any Americans help me out on this one? Thanks in advance.

Electrical engineering student who's taking Financial Accounting as an elective course? I'm studying electrical engineering and I took Financial Accounting as a free elective because my friends told me that it's an easy course and since I'm an engineering student I can figure it out more easily than Business Administration & Economics students but the point is, I couldn't really focus much on Financial Accounting during the semester because I had to focus on my own area courses so, I screwed badly in Financial Accounting midterms. Now it is the final exams period, and I don't believe in myself that I can recover myself from failing from this course or getting a D - which will lower my GPA. So, next semester I'm thinking of taking something else as a free elective to substitute that course. Now my concern is, if I apply for an admission to MSc. in Electrical Engineering or MSc. in Business Administration, will it cause a bad impression on the decision committee that I've got a F from Financial Accounting.

To professionals already in the business world... I am a college student and would like some advice? I just started college (I am a freshman) and I decided on my plan of study and I wanted to know if anyone already in the job market could inpute their opinion or give some advice. I am a very moody student and would rarely student, though I am an honor student. Since first year until before my 3rd year, I decided to take pharmacy but the problem is, my chemistry grade isn't good (87). Should i still stay with my relationship to my boyfriend if he say this!!? I am 18 years old, 3rd year college student in Business Administration course while my boyfriend is 24 and a 2nd Lieutenant. We are about 8months in relationship. Then now, I was 4days delayed and I text him that I haven't yet periods.. then..My boyfriend replied that I must take a pregnancy test or any tablets in able for my period. After 4 days i haven't yet periods so i ask him what if its positive tomorrow? Will u be mad? He replied he won't get mad, he's just scared because he is not ready and its not in the right time, he did not even ask me what i feel. and if it will be positive, he said he surely cannot take it, to have the responsibility to stand with it. I feel very upset and cried when i read those messages of him. If he's scared, don't he think I'm not?. And only to find out this morning, (5th day) i have my period early morning then he texted me again if i take medicines or a test. then what is the result. I did not replied. Now, I'm confused if i will still informed him that i had my period already. I'm still upset of him, very very much!! please any opinions regarding my situation. I think he won't really stand with it, and before we did that thing, he knows I'm not safe that time coz 2 days after is my ovulation period but he said we will make it safe. I found out his reaction that he is really sure not to stand with it if ever. So i must tell him?and wait if he still wants to continue our relationship? And I am a Sk-Chairman in our place. I need help with this college admissions question? Im a student at El Camino Community College, and I want to transfer to Loyola Marymount University as a Business Administration transfer student. Here is the El Camino sheet which shows what LMU requires for Business Administration major transfers to LMU: LOYOLA MARYMOUNT UNIVERSITY Pre-Major Courses: Business 1A-1B; Economics 1, 2; Math 160; CIS 13 A lower division business law class is required after transfer. A student must have completed a course in Business Calculus, (ECC Math 160), with a grade of "C" (2.0) or better in order to transfer into the College of Business Administration. All Business Administration students must satisfy the general education requirements and complete the Business Administration requirements listed above. In most cases, students are eligible to transfer after completing 30 units of transferable coursework, with a minimum GPA of 3.00. A maximum of 60 units may be transferred from all community college work. My question is: 1. Does my GPA need to be at least a 3.0 on ALL courses I have taken at El Camino?? What is the best CSU(s) for Business Administration? I'm a community college student at the Santa Rosa Junior College, I'm getting my A.A. Degree this semester while finishing up my business transfer courses. I was wondering what CSUs would be the best to transfer in. What are my chances for admission into a good business school? I apologize in advance for the long post. I am currently a high school junior, looking to major in business or economics. My school gives extra credit (5.0 scale) for advanced classes. Currently, i have a cumulative 4.00 GPA, 3.53 unweighted. After this semester, I will have a 4.1, 3.57 unweighted. My transcript show consistent improvement (3.5 freshman year, 3.9 sophomore year, 4.43 first semester of junior year, expected 4.6 this semester). I am active in my schools FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America, marketing) clubs. I plan to be an officer in both next year, possibly president of FBLA (our chapter is the largest and one of the best in the state). Last yearmy team recieved 7th in the state for the FBLA E-Business competition (should have been higher, our teacher submitted the wrong website) and have gotten first place in all competitions I have done for DECA. I am also involved in our Spanish Honor Society. I have yet to take the ACT/SAT, but i recieved a 29 on the PLAN (projected 30-33 on the ACT) and a 188 on the PSAT. As far as work experience, I have none. This summer I plan to hold a job as a student teller for a credit union. My school is also one of about 40 in the nation offering a High School of Business program. This program allows student to take college-geared courses in business and graduate high school with a diploma from a High School of Business. These courses involve taking a test at the end of each unit, with a 70/100 classifying as "with distinction." I have taken 4 of these classes, and have recieved with distinction in each. Of course, I would love to go to the Ivy League, but I fear that my credentials are not up to par. Schools like Wharton and Harvard are so selective, I am unsure of my chances. What do you think my chances would be of getting into a school like this? I do not have a great financial situation, and do not have a legacy at any school like thank youso, I am looking to recieve an MBA after my undergrad. Is it better to recieve my undergrad and MBA from different schools? Is there a lot of overlap between a Business Administration undergrad and an MBA? I am not looking to be babied. Am I eligible to study Bachelor of Business Administration in US with no accounting basics during high school? I am a year 12 equivalent student in Malaysia who wish to pursue a degree in BBA in US after completing the course. The problem is that I am a student from the science stream, my subject combination for this particular course is Maths, Biology, Chemistry and General Studies. During my high-schooll years, I also did not take up any subjects related to business eg. Accountancy, Economics etc. I have no academic basics in Business which are needed to excel in this course. I can sing and dance, both which I am still learning. I love to listen to Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Dean Martin. I also love Broadway and MGM musicals. My style of singing is jazz, rock & roll, and crooning. My major in college is business administration (particularly in the concentration of international trade, marketing, and finance). Industrial Engineering, Business Administration/Management, or Computer Science? Hello, I'm a freshman college student, and I have just finished 1st term. My current course is Computer Science, but I am thinking of shifting to either Industrial Engineering or Business Management. I am also considering if Accounting or Finance might be a better choice or not. However, I am also not sure if I am going to shift. Should I stick to Computer Science? I am skilled in computers, but I would not say that I am ultra-good in them. I am leaning more into the so-so kind of above average when it comes to programming. I am also not that tech-savvy. But I am excellent in Math. Reason why I am considering those other picks because I can't see myself facing the computer for my whole entire life. Plus, I would rather see myself in managerial positions if ever. In fact, that is what I happen to lack in: communication skills and leadership skills, which is basically the reason why I want to take them, so I can hone them. Can one get a MBA without a Bachelors in Business? I am currently an electrical engineering student at Kansas State University. As I consider my postgraduate options double major in Physics or Master as an EE or maybe get a Masters of Business Administration I was wonder if it is possible for someone who has not majored in business to get into a business school at the master level (with a Bachelors in Science of course) Any information for me?

Can any one help me to explain more on these two sentences? I am an exchange student studying Business administration, while English is not my native language. On the course of intercultural communication we're using the textbook of Guirdham, an englishman. Unfortunately it contains some sentences that are extremely long which I cannot get its exact meaning. Here are two sentences. 1.On the section of "Managerial beliefs" However, studies in Greece and five developing countries showed 'a low level of industrialization' to be such a potent explanatory varialbe as to offset the effects of cultural diversity. The researchers commented that national cultures seems to have more explanatory power for mature industrialized countries. 2. The following sentence (I think) should be stating that culture differences should not be the mask of racism. But in fact I don't totally understand it... There is a phenomenon known as 'new racism' which draws attention to cultural incompatibility. It confines racism to 'situations in which groups of people are hierachically distinguished from one another on the basis of some notion of stock difference and where symbolic representations are mobilized which emphasize the social and cultual relevance of biologically rooted characteristics'. Can any one explain those sentences for me? It would be much better if you would like to explain the difficult phrases. Especially the last sentence of the second case.

Information Technology or Business Administration? I'm a graduating student but still undecided on what course to take. Which course would be better to take up considering the job demands for each, IT OR BSBA? I was thinking since technology's growing more and more then I should consider taking up computer-related courses like IT. But the problem is, I don't have a strong foundation regarding math, and both courses require math skills. tbh, i want to take up science courses because i love doing experiments and stuff, but I'm afraid I wont have a job in the next 4-6 years, plus, it's expensive and i dont think we can afford it. Why did my California State university give me a honorary bachelor's degree in business administration? I know I've been in my university for 10 years trying to get one degree. I know I changed my major about 10 times. I know in all of my tests, I usually got at best 1 out of 10 questions right & each instructors gave me a C instead of F for the course. I know I was the worst student in each class. I know my final major GPA was 2.0 out of 4.0. I know I know virtually nothing about my major. I know if you asked me anything about my study, I probably couldn't answer you. I know I don't deserve this degree. I know I was and still am a slacker. So why did I receive this degree? So why did my school give me this degree? Is it since school realized that I was just taking up valuable space without making any improvements and only way that I'll leave is for them to give me a degree? No! When I said "honorary degree", I didn't mean it literally. It just feels like it's a honorary degree cause I don't deserve to get it. But It's just regular bachelor's degree.

what should i really pursue in college, business administration or bachelor of secondary education? help me please..im totally confused..well my life is very confusing though..lol..when i was in first year college i took up nursing..at first, everything was fine and i was proud of my course and everything..when suddenly, i disliked nursing and wanted to quit...I dunno but i shifted from one course to another..seems like i really dont know what i really want in life..After nursing i took up Bachelor of Education..i was a second year then..i thought this was really one thing i wanted to do in life..to teach..but then again i became depressed when i found new classmates..i missed my nursing classmates..and by the way i also changed schools..so i missed my previous school..i became so lonely and depressed during my bachelor of Education(bsed) student tme...Due to severe depression..i stopped school.. and i was starting to visit a psychiatrist then..look i am not crazy but just confused with what course should i take? Some Foreign Students believe College Courses should be all lecture? I teach business courses at a local Community College. One thing I hate doing in any class I teach is to just lecture to the students for the 2 hour course. Though many of my foreign students get angry when I expect them to speak up in class or do presentations. In fact many just refuse to speak up in class and go mute when I call on them. A few times I insisted they answer the question and when I pushed it they stormed out of class and reported me to the administration. I'd like to do a distance finance degree - I live in Kuwait.. What's the best one? I'd like to specialise in accounting and finance, but I haven't got any previous qualifications in this area, though I know my 'financial stuff' and am an experienced and reasonably successful investor. I completed all the economic and math requirements with A's, and both optional Financial and Managerial Accounting courses with A's. My race is the Chicano / Latino choice (not sure if this matters). Nursing or Medicine for a US Citizen in College in the Philippines? I am a poor young married man from New York City, who is the only one in his immediate family who has ever finished college. I came to the Philippines to get another degree to support my sick wife and my brothers and sisters (abandoned by our parents). I send her money every month to support her. We have no children yet. I was attending University of San Carlos (USC) as an MBA (Master's Degree of Business Administration) student. Now I am planning to either study Medicine or Nursing (or Physical Therapy). It will take me 5 years to finish the Medical program and 4 or 5 years for the nursing program (regardless, my internship will be in the U.S. the final years). If I go back to New York City, there is not enough money to provide to have babies, medical insurance, and other stuff; although I make more than the average 20+ year old. I am already 27 years old. I have no parents to support me because I was abandoned by both at a young age. It is just me...here... Should I go into medicine to be a doctor or study nursing? I've always dreamed to be a doctor, but I keep hearing more HORROR stories of medical students from the US studying abroad than nursing students studying in the Philippines from the US. I also was thinking about just divorcing my wife and marrying a Filipina student or worker (preferably in the medical field) to work in the US and help us and their family back in their country as part of this plan. I already am almost complete with my science requirements in the University of San Carlos, located in Cebu. I visited and have already been welcomed into a few med schools for 2010 who claim to help you do a clerkship in your last year of med school: UERM, Fatima (Metro Manila), Silliman (Dumaguete), Cebu Doctors' University (Cebu). Cebu Doctors' has U.S. linkage for physical therapy clerkship. US Clinical Experience in medicine is important since I only can work in the US and not this country, unless I get married to a Filipina. Nursing and physical therapy seem to be an easier option.

I came across the website (www.isbm.org.in) of this Organisation and they offer MBA, Doctorate level programs for both Indian & International students. I know that only Universities are authorized to offer degree level courses. Also only courses offered by universities approved by Distance Education Council are valid. But these people just literally sell the education with offers like: Complete the MBA/Doctorate courses within 6 months We send you the question and answer papers to your home, you fill it and send back, we give you the certificates which you like. As a bit of background, I have not been offered a full time job in five years in spite of my best efforts. I get part time jobs easily and freelance writing jobs easily -- they just don't pay enough for us to pay our bills. My husband (who remodels houses but doesn't charge near enough to support us) and I have to cooperate with the job placement plan in order to keep getting welfare. It's not that the few hundred dollars is such a big deal, but under the program, and since I don't have outstanding student loans, I can go back to school and finish my degree with distance learning through a university about 40 miles from here. I can take online classes or some classes at a center in my town. It will actually take about 2 years because I have to earn 45 hours at this new school to graduate from it. This program offers adult learners courses at the upper undergrad levels and counts whatever coursework you've done to meet the core education requirements. You have to have completed 60 hours to get in and I've completed 98. Here are possible majors available to me: 1. English. Pro: it was already my major and I have a lot of work done in it. Con: I don't see how it will get me farther than I am now. I'm already a published author and journalist and not making enough money at it. I can already get hired for writing jobs based on my talent -- not to brag, it's just a fact. 2. Psychology -- Pro: I like people and helping others. Con: I have absolutely no hours in psychology right now and would have to start with Psych 101. Like all of these, I have the educational core done, but would have to take a bunch of psych and other social science courses. 3. Business administration. I do have nonprofit experience but my lack of degree has kept me from ever getting a job with it. I have no interest in business courses, I'm bad at math, possibly too chaotic for accounting, but I would make more money I think. 4. Teaching certification -- I would go for secondary English. Pro: very easy for me to finish up and possibly steady work that I'd enjoy. Con: Our local school district cut a bunch of teachers this year and I don't want to uproot the kids. Is this college course any good? Well I am 19 and I want to go into Business Admin. I am waiting to go onto an apprenticeship I am with two training providers at the moment but they seem to be taking so long finding me a place. So I am going to apply for this college course its called Building a Career in Administration NVQ Level 2. On the course you will do customer relations, managing diaries, dealing with visitors, filing systems, organising and supporting meetings, using IT, using telephone systems, operating office equipment, producing documents, working effectively as part of a team. It also says at the end of the course, students will be guaranteed an interview for a paid temporary post or apprenticeship. We do work at the college but also work placements which will involve working in 2 or 3 different college departments such as HR, Finance, Estates, Curriculum Administration hubs, Marketing etc.

Next year I will be attending a college that requires students who major in a liberal art to minor in business administration (with a focus on a business minor of your choice). My friends in high school weren’t much different from me; they too were undecided. My parents divorced while I was in high school and my mom moved us into the suburbs. It was my senior year and I was the new kid in school. I don't think there is anything worse than enrolling in a new school the year before you graduate. This wasn’t the first time I had moved to a different town and a different school, so I knew what to expect. The problem this time was that it was my last year of high school and my fellow students had formed cliques and groups they belonged to so I did not know how I would be accepted. Luckily, being the extrovert I am, it wasn’t really difficult to make friends. After getting to know my new class mates, and talking to some of the other students about their plans after high school, it got me thinking about my own future. I soon realized that I really had no plan after college. Music just wasn’t a strong enough pull, I wasn't sure that it was really what I wanted to do. I was confused and frustrated. To make things worse, I realized that my grades weren’t as good as they could have been and that I could have done much better but I was just so focused on everything other than school. I attended community college after graduating but still didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. My business teachers helped me see that I excelled in the business and I really enjoyed learning business fundamentals and principles. How should I prepare for an MBA program? Hi. I just recently graduated with a BA in Government (Political Science) and I have decided that it might be a good idea to get an MBA. I know that I want to concentrate in International Business, but the problem is that I didn't take a single business course in college. Also, I haven't had any math since high school. I was thinking about taking a couple of math and business courses at the local community college while also working and volunteering. I also looked into maybe getting an associate's in either business administration or international business so that I could have a basic foundation in the field. With all that being said, I am just a little confused as to whether or not this is a good idea. I don't know if going back to school at a community college will help me in my quest for an MBA. Does this sound like a good idea or just a waste of time and money? I am in desperate need for some insight seeing as though my parents are of little help (neither went to college and have very little knowledge of higher education), and the counselors at the community college are not helpful at all. They just tend to look at me like I am a raving lunatic when I explain my case. Also, one final question. Is an associate's considered an undergraduate degree? How do I convince my University to allow my Community College Language course to count as an upper division GE I am a student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Last summer I took an upper level Chinese course that emphasized reading and writing in Chinese. When I took the course, Cal Poly didn't even offer Chinese, so I took the initiative to go out of my way to learn it during the summer time. The goal was that advanced knowledge in this area will supplement my future in International Business Management, my major. However, because of a rule that no community college course could count as an upper-division elective, it is ruining my plans. First, the college's administration is stubborn about the notion that some community college courses exceed the quality of education available at a 4 year university, especially when Cal Poly doesn't even offer that language. Secondly, the Chinese course perfectly supplements my major, thus making sense it should count as part of my major coursework. For those familiar with this situation in other Universities or here, let's get through this together!

College Credits: Very confused.? Hi, my college path at the moment is very confusing and I don't have anyone available to help clear everything up. I started at a community college in 2007 and I applied for a transfer degree in Business Administration. At WCC (the college above) I completed Fall and Winter Quarters and did not complete Spring. Therefore I have earned half a year of credit? I did not complete Spring quater because I am studying abroad in Germany and during that time I had to work and work and work to pay off school costs. WCC did not support any study abroad programs to Germany so I had to enroll and was accepted at the University of Idaho. All the credits I earn here (in Germany) should transfer back to the University of Idaho. Here is the first area where I am confused. Did my credits transfer from WCC to the UI? (How can I find out?) The next part is where it gets more confusing. I am applying to the American University in Cairo (AUC) and even though I have never set foot on the University of Idaho campus, is it now my home university? I need to know what to fill out on my addmissions form. To make matters more complicated. I am staying another semester here in Germany, I have an Arabic course set up. When I return to the states for Summer before studying in Egypt, I am very determined to find another Arabic course to further prep me. I want to take the intensive Arabic course at the University of Washington (UW) offered this Summer Quarter (2009), as well as other courses towards my Business Administration Degree. How would I go about enrolling to the UW? As transfer student or freshman? I am going to obtain my actual BA in BUSAD at the AUC... but in the future I would like to follow it up with a MA at the UW later... All that being said, I am very confused, I know the direction I want to go but getting there has me utterly lost. Where are my credits at? If I enroll to the UW in the Summer before I study at AUC does this now make the UW my home university? Can anyone explain to me the steps I should take the get to what I'm trying to do?
