Is taking an online course for an associates degree in business administration a good idea?

instead of taking the course on campus?

1. A few online courses are a great thing, just avoid doing your whole degree online. It doesn't carry as much weight when you do it that way.
2. No. Employers will not take you seriously. My opinion is that you are better off getting a tattoo on your forehead that says "I have a bad education." It will have the same effect and be a lot cheaper. Most online colleges are For Profit corporations that charge more than respectible public universities. Many real schools offer a few courses on-line. Taking these would be OK.
3. Certainly! Many schools now offer really good on-line courses as part of degree programs. It sounds like you are just talking about one on-line course. I think actually makes your a more marketable employee considering how much of today's business happens online. You just need to make sure that you have a good computer, a reliable, fast internet connection, and the personal motivation to do a lot the work on your own. Instead of going to class all the time, you will have to be very disciplined to do a lot of reading on your own. But on-line classes can be a great way to fit classes into a busy schedule!
4. Ranto's essentially correct. Taking some courses online is fine, but when the online environment represents your entire program's foundation, employers and many colleges won't take your academic accomplishments seriously. Online education simply isn't as rigorous or measurable as classroom-based education.
