Is it better to have a masters & a PhD, or is it equally impressive to have two masters degrees?

My current masters degree isn't career-oriented (a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies) & I can't figure out what I'm going to do with it. However, there are numerous MBA programs online, and I'm wondering if I should go ahead and get an MBA, or should I go for a PhD in something else? I have no direction!

1. As long as you get my order right at the drive-thru, they are equally impressive.
2. It's not impressive no matter how many degrees you get if you can't get a decent paying job. I've worked with people who had 4 degrees (a PhD, FAAN, MSN, BSN) and they were dumber than a box of rocks. It's not how much education you get, but how you apply it as well as how you conduct your life.
3. It all depends on what your ultimate goal is. Before you spend any more time or money on another degree, think about where you would like for it to lead you. Getting a Ph. D. is great if you would like to be a professor, do research and publish. If not, you will find yourself where you are now. Do you really want an MBA?? Be sure and think about where that would lead you. Is that the kind of profession that you want. You may want to think about teaching on the junior high or high school level. That would get you off work early enough to earn another degree. You would also be off holidays and summers in most areas. In most places they need teachers so you could make some money until you figure out what you want to do. Many private, Catholic and smaller schools will hire you without being certified. Some employers do not "believe" that an on line degree prepares the student as well as that from a traditional university setting. If that is what you decide to do, make sure that the program is accredited. It may be useful for you to take the Myers Briggs and meet with some type of career counselor. Best Wishes.
