how long does it take to become a physical therapist?I need a Masters or Doctoral Degree?

I am 24 years old about to be 25 in September. I would like to change careers and become a PT or a physical Therapists Assistant. I would like to know how long that will take me How long to get a masters or doctoral degree.

1. You can do PT assistant in KY and it takes 2 years. you don't need any formal schooling. its in somerset and jefferson, i dont think any of them need doctorates
2. It will depend on if you have any college experience. If you have none, expect it to take 6-7 years to become a PT if you go to school full time. To become a PTA would take 2 years. If you have some college experience, but have not completed the prerequisite coureses, this could take you 1-2 years to complete if you already have your gen eds complete. Then you would apply for admission to the graduate level phase which is typically another 3 years.
