Does the success of your future depend on EQ(Emotional quotient) and motive rather than a scale of grades?

After reading all these websites, http://www.macleans.ca/education/postsecondary/article.jsp?content=20070910_109139_109139 http://www.alfiekohn.org/teaching/fdtd-g.htm http://www.pennylicious.com/2006/10/09/billionaire-dropouts/ http://lifehacker.com/software/students/why-you-dont-have-to-get-straight-as-in-college-329717.php http://thewaronbullshit.com/2007/07/24/bad-grades/ http://www.education-reform.net/dropouts.htm and reading neurological, sociological, psycological blogs. Which do you suppose ending up successful? The CEO, professors, theorists, or the creative emotionally intelligent obessesed people that consider other subjects obselete to their future career success?
