I want to take up BS Accountancy as my second course...?

I want to take up BS Accountancy as my second course. I am freshman BS Business Administration maj. International Management student. I have Accounting as my minor subject but I want to be an accountant because I find it very challenging. I am not good at analyzing but I believed everything can be learned. Many people told me that accounting is very difficult it needs a lot of patience and also you must be very intelligent enough (very good in understanding and analyzing the statement) so that can graduate and pass the board exam, is that true? Which do you think is better? BS Business Administration or BS Accountancy? Thanks.

  1. Accountancy is not better than BA and vice versa. I think what will be better for you is the one that captures your interests. Accountancy as you say is very challenging, you must pass the board exam to be a CPA. But if you will not put your heart in it, it will be a total waste for you. What I am saying is that you should pursue the field that interests you most. If you plan to be a degree on BA because you love that field and you will put your best in it, then you will are as good as a CPA. Both courses are very challenging and requires a lot of patience. Do not look only on your hardships that you will face in your college life, you should be looking on problems you will be facing after having that degree. Getting a high grade in college is very easy compared to having a "good" life after.
