University of Phoenix IT degree?

Has anyone been able to get a good job/career in the IT industry with a degree from phoenix university? I was looking over their coursework and find it odd that there is basically no Cisco training/coursework at all? Seems kind of fishy, how could one get an IT job in fields like networking with no experience of Cisco routers and such?

  1. You meant to post this in the humor department, didn't you?
  2. No fooling. The University of Phoenix has grown large and profitable because nobody regulates schools very well. Anyway, you really don't need college for courses like these: it's mostly manual-reading and vocabulary and exercises; there's no critical thinking involved. You could teach yourself and then take the various certification exams from people like Cisco and Microsoft. If you need college courses, visit your local community or vocational school. But stay away from for-profit enterprises like the U of Phoenix and the rest of them.
  3. try to find out it from http://book.directdegree.info/
  4. At my local community college they had a Cisco networking academy. Perhaps yours does too. I would look into a community college.
