Best Physical Therapy Schools in midwest (doctoral program) for a student with a lower gpa??

I just finished my first semester of my junior year at a private school in Nebraska, and am looking for a Physical Therapy school in the midwest. My major is exercise science and my overalll gpa is about a 3.2, but stronger in anatomy and physiology and science based areas....what schools do i have a shot at getting into??

  1. try to get some internships or volunteer at the student health center- most grad schools in physical therapy look for students with some experience. as long as your GPA is above a 3 and your science GPA is at least B+, you have a good chance of getting into any non-ivy league school
  2. You have a shot at getting into any school that has a minimum GPA of 3.0. However, remember that most physical therapy programs have way more applicants than they have spots...yet it fluctuates from year to year. Where I went to school, our class had an average GPA of 3.6-3.8...but we had 350 applicants. The same school only had 48 applicants just two years ago. Remember that most schools also primarily focus on PREREQUISITE GPA...calculate that to get a better idea of your chances. Creighton University has a very reputable DPT program.
