Colorado Technical University

Why do universities, schools and careers adviser's lie about university being good for career development?

I went to uni got a degree now i can t get into teacher training and the only other thing open is the military or the police, call me funny but i don't see them as a choice, any other ideas?

  1. theyre desperate for teachers so if you cant get into teacher training its prob best to apply to mcdonalds
  2. yeah i agree with u. i mean i didnt get a degree, got a hnd, but hell i feel like its useless and waste of £12k.
  3. School's can brag about their students. Universities are businesses at the end of the day. Career advisers want to keep their targets down. Or there's the alternative. They are actually good for careers.
  4. It's not a complete lie - get the right degree from the right University and you can get a very well paid job. However the Labour government has set targets for 50% of people to go to Uni. Clearly there aren't enough good jobs to go round half the population - so you are a victim of this policy.
