What do you think of the National Guard College First program?
How long do you have to sign up for? What are your commitments during those two years? And after those two years? Would this be a good option for someone entering a 5 year, intense (and expensive) doctoral program with no money? Thanks in advance, -Kevin

- I think the program is set up for graduating High School kids, not for someone who is trying to get their Doctorate Degree. From what I understand, you will work part-time for the guard but not deploy for two years while you go to school. In some states full tuition will be paid for and in others you will only receive $4500 a year for tution.. After those two years you will fulfill the obligated service time as an enlisted person of the National Guard. Most likely they will want you to sign up for 3-6 years.
