Colorado Technical University

should i go for a pscyh doctoral program this year in L.A. or wait a year and go to San Diego?

the programs are the exact same, just trying to decide which place i want to live for the next 4 plus years..help...also, where would the opportunities be greatest for internships, post grad opportunities, etc.? thanks. i'm concerned about the extra year because i'm already 49, but think that san diego probably has better schools for middle schoolers (one of which i have at home). a little flustered...

  1. Are you talking about UCSD and UCLA? I've heard both of those are awesome for psych. It's really what you want to do. I'd personally prefer to live in San Diego because I love it, and I believe in taking time off before college or before grad school to earn a little cash and take a breather. So waiting might be in your best interest, unless something about the UCLA program appeals to you more than the San Diego one, and you don't want to let that opportunity go. LA is a better center for internships & post grad opps, but its also more competitive to get the ones you want. So I'd say you should prepare yourself to make an equal effort in either location. Good luck!
