Can I still get into med school if I am an international business major?
Currently I am a biology major but I'm interested in switching into international business. Just in case pre-med doesn't end up working I will have a backup. Also I have heard that in order to get into med school, you don't HAVE to be a biology major. If I take all the pre-med requirements will my chances be lower getting into med school as an international business major?

- You'll have just a good a shot at med school with international business as biology for someone with the same GPA and MCAT scores. As long as you take the pre-med courses, you can major in whatever you want.
- It all depends on the school you are looking to get into. You need to research what your school requires. Many schools now a days as long as you take the right requirements your major doesn't matter, but some may say differently. Look at the school you want to enter, try to find it on their website; if you can't find it on their website, call them up and ask a graduate admissions counselor. That is their job, don't feel awkward asking them.
- You heard right. You can major in anything you want, just make sure meet the science prerequisites for med school. BUT I must advise against this. International business and medicine are two completely different worlds. I would not stray that far from your intended medical studies if I were you... Unless international business is your passion (if it is, then DONT try to become a doctor), then I wouldn't change your major to this. But you could try something else... P.S. Bio is not the best major for medical school anyways. Chemistry (biochem even better) are more suitable because Bio deals so much with plants and animals and all that stupid stuff.
- Go ahead and switch, as it won't affect you chances of being accepted. My assumption is that you would continue on in grad studies in Int'l Bus if you aren't accepted into a med school. Sounds like an interesting Major.
