Help! How can I get back into the career I'm trained for? ?

I am a university educated nutritionist/dietitian who is wanting to get back into the field after spending two years working in research and pharmacy. I would like to hear from people who have successfully gone back into their chosen careers after a period of time working in another specialty. Have you found it difficult to get back into the profession you're trained for? How did you present your career break in a positive light to prospective employers? Thanks in advance.

1. I would guess that you spent 2 years in research and pharmacy to broaden your back ground to improve your capabilities as a nutritionist/dietitian. Just tell them that. I switched a lot in my early years and found being honest with a positive spin was the best approach. I do not recall as tough a job market as there is today. Your field may be an exception.
