What are some good alternative career paths/training/schooling/etc. other than 4-year college?

Some people dont have the time. Some people dont have the resources. Some people (like me) have heard and saw way too many stories where people have actually went to 4-year schools and cant even find a job in their field, so you dont want to waste that much time and money. What are some good alternative career paths/training/schooling/etc. other than 4-year college, which can still land you a good to decent paying job/career?

1. Vo-tech, beauty school, some medical fields that only require 9 months of training
2. community colleges have excellnt programs where you can get certified in a field by taking a few classes plus they give you leads {most do} try a technical school where you can learn a trade in a few short months. With or without a degree, regardless of what field it can be difficult to find a job.
