Do American college degrees carry in Ireland?
I am an Irish-American dual citizen. I've been travelling back and fourth from American to Ireland for a while now but lived and worked in America. With a college degree (2 or 4 year) from an accedited college/university in the states carry any weight in Ireland? In other words, when applying for a job in a specific field, would I be qualified for a career position in that field?

- Depends on the field and the degree. If it is from an Ivy in the US, (Harvard, Yale, Columbia...etc..) or one of the more prestigious science schools such as MIT, then yes it has a certain weight worldwide. You may need to sit an exam or two if being licensed (law, medical, etc...) is required for your profession. It really depends on the field. Some jobs, like IT, require the same training and degrees no matter what the country. Practical experience in your field is also important.
- It depends on the job!
- 4 years might, I wouldn't hold out much hope for a 2-year degree.
