DREAM Act could bring additional students what about Americans when did we stop counting?

The College Board took a step in announcing its full support of legislation that could give citizenship to thousands of illegal aliens. Although it has been introduced into Congress multiple times since its inception approximately eight years ago, the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act of 2009 has received more support than other versions have in the past. The DREAM Act is a reform that, if passed, creates a bypass of immigration laws that would allow undocumented inhabitants of the United States to gain permanent citizenship if they meet certain criteria. In a report written for the College Board by Roberto Gonzales, a professor of social work at the University of Washington School of Social Work, the figure of undocumented students graduating high school per year is more than 60,000. “The DREAM Act would provide 360,000 undocumented high school graduates with a legal means to work and attend college. [The act] could provide incentives for another 715,000 youngsters between the ages of 5 and 17 to finish high school and pursue postsecondary education,” according to the report. In order to receive the bill’s benefits, undocumented students must have been in the country for five years (from the date the bill is enacted), be 15 years old or younger at the time they entered the country and be of “good moral character,” according to the bill, which was introduced in the House and Senate simultaneously. http://www.newsrecord.org/sections/news/dream-act-could-bring-additional-students-1.1748019 Using a social security number that is not yours is a felony. We do not allow anyone to profit or benefit from crime, which is why drug dealers have their money confiscated, as well as cars, homes, and anything else bought with that money. As such, illegals don't even have the right to keep salaries, much less anything bought with them or get a refund or social security back. That's insane! That is tainted money -- ill-gotten gains -- earned during the commission of a crime (a felony, no less). And no, 6.2% for SS and 6.2% for medicare doesn't come close to paying for the services they use. chuckles... No human is illegal, but their status in the United States may be that the entered illegally. It does not matter from what country of origin, it matters that they did not enter through a legally defined process. As such the only rights that should be accorded to persons of this status is deportation as swiftly as possible. if you can't feed em, don't breed em!!!!!!!!!!

  1. The dream act is a disgrace and just another word for amnesty to all the illegal immigrants. We should never reward people who break the law just to get one up on tax paying citizens. Secure our borders and enforce our immigration laws!
  2. If that number of 60,000 a year is correct, the number of illegal aliens is not 12,000,000. But then, we are being lied to by our government on a daily basis. We also have a whole slew of characters in D.C. who no more believe in their oath of office than they believe in Americans with brains. We shall see.
  3. The DREAM act is for people brought to the USA as children and who grew up here. Opponents of the DREAM act are saying that after we paid the taxes it takes to educate these children, about $100,000 each that we should throw them out just as they are to become taxpayers. We already invested the money in these kids and they grew up here through no fault of their own. Why should ewe not get 50 years of taxes out of them?
  4. "If they are educated they will become tax payers" "if they are not educated they will be on the streets in gangs" "If they are not educated they will be living in poverty depending on government programs" The government will say or do whatever it can to get what it wants. If these kids are educated at taxpayers expense American student will not be. If these kids are educated they will be applying for the same jobs as American students. If these kids are educated American students will be denied seats. If these kids are allowed an education through the dream act it will increase illegal immigration, especially people with small children hoping for a free primary & SECONDARY education and citizenship. Now that talk of immigration reform in being brought up illegal immigration has increased. Opportunities for Americans is being given away to illegals, but the cost of the opportunity is still be forced on taxpayers. ALL MONEY FOR ALL PROGRAMS COMES FROM EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN TAXPAYER. THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT A BUSINESS SELLING A PRODUCT EARNING A PROFIT. THAT PROFIT COMES FROM US, ALL OF US.
