What classes should I take and where?

I have a dilemma. I am a college senior who just switched my major to Nutrition. That means I have to take lower division classes again, many of which are prerequisites for other classes. Many of these prerequisites are chemistry and biology classes, which are hard subjects. My academic advisor told me to be sure I do mostly my chemistry and biology classes first so I can move on to the advanced classes. The problem is that I'm on academic probation (because I struggled in Accounting/Business classes which used to be my major) and i'm at the borderline GPA of getting disqualified from the university. So, I spoke with a different advisor about my situation today and she told me to only take one science class at a time (which contradicts the other advisor) since she knows they are hard classes. I need to get good grades and raise my GPA in order to stay at the university. What should I do? Taking some of my classes at a community college (usually easier) is also an option.

  1. Since your GPA is already a problem, I would only take one of the sciences at a time. It will take you a little longer to graduate (which is probably why the first advisor told you to take them at the same time), but you will have a better chance of scoring well in them if you do it that way. And you could always just take one this semester and then consider doubling up next semester if you want. But if you really want to take some of the classes at a community college (not my personal favorite idea), make should all of your credits will transfer first. Some colleges are picky about which classes you take from them and you have to have a certain number of credit hours at the university to graduate. Good luck and stick with it!
  2. I'd take CC classes. Understanding the information is what's most important here.
