Currently in a Masters program, want to stop courses and apply to doctoral program or another masters program.?

I am currently in a masters psychology program. My ultimate goal is to get a PhD/PsyD in clinical psychology. I currently don't like the masters program I am in and want to terminate early. It is overpriced and focuses too much on cultural issues instead of psychopathology and mental disorders. Have other people done this? Is this ok? My ultimate goal is a doctoral degree anyways, so I would think it wouldn't do harm. Does this reflect bad on me or is it merely be seen as wanting to go to a new program? Thanks ahead for help! Oh Sorry. I guess I wasn't specific enough. The program is two years long and I was going to continue until the end of the school year, and by then I would know if I got into another program. Sorry for the confusion!

  1. DO...NOT...DROP...OUT! the key word is TRANSFER! Apply to another program and ask them about their transfer policies and go from there ... but whatever you do, DO NOT DROP OUT! Imagine if you do drop out and don't get accepted to ur phd program ... Get accepted first, find out about their transfer policies, maybe talk to somebody @ the grad admin about the process of transferring out.
