Does colleges help you get your career going once you complete it?

well Im preparing to go to collage next semester soon and I want to be a game designer and I know the field of study is c++ of computer software, but when college ends how will I be able to get my career going will there be anyone to help me or am I just on my own.

1. Most colleges have a career resource center, so spending some time there could be helpful. Also talk to your professors, they might be able to help you find something as well.
