what do you think about colleges like Kaplan Career Institute?

i heard institutes are a big waste of time and money has anyone ever went to one how much does it cost or should you just stick with community college?

  1. I would stick with Community College. Pick courses that help your goal towards a BA at a 4-year college or university. Here's the real trick; not all courses from the community college or Kaplan will count as undergraduate credits in the 4-year institutions. You need to decide now 1) where you want to end up finishing your BA or BS. 2) Look online or call their admissions office for a copy of the acceptable courses with TRANSFERRABLE CREDITS. That will be a long list of classes like Community College X course compSci 100 5 credits = 3 credits of Big Deal University Computer Sci requirements/credits, etc. 3) Take and ace as many of the low-cost (at community college) transferrable credit classes as you can toward your goal BA / BS. When you're ready, apply to the 4-year school and be ready to show that according to their list you have already finished 2 - 3 years work. Good Luck.
