Are postsecondary institutions included in the services industry?

I know that the service industry includes services offered (rather than goods), but where are educational institutions? Are they in the service industry, too? Does a university offer you the "service" of education and training?

1. Postsecondary institutions are their own classification. If you broaden "services" to include "serving others" then pretty much everything out there would fall into the services category - hospitals would serve patients, police and fire departments serve the public, and professional sports serve the fans. Making that definition that broad leads to too many problems, so keep it narrower and leave postsecondary institutions, law enforcement, and athletic clubs to their own industries.
