I am considering accepting an opportunity for an expatriate assignment for the next two years. I have arranged a meeting with the V.P of International Development to further discuss the opportunity. What do i need to learn from this meeting to help me make this decision?

One important factor, once you return, the experience gained .....what would these mean when you get back....what growth oportunities could you expect....ask why where you where chosen or offered the oportunity and not someone else.....what are his expectations of your performance.......goals and objectives.....
2. Hi, depending if the assignment is internal or in another company, you might want to learn about the team and the job itself. Repatriation oportunities after the assignment are important discussed. An important aspect will be the expatriate packages, or the compensation you will get for relocating and living abroad. this depends on the country of assignement and the company itself. This is usually discussed with the human ressources department. I hope this help. Seb.
