Student at Chaffey College, Help with Courses?

Hi, I'm currently a student at Chaffey College in CA. It's my first semester right now, and I'm choosing my classes for the second semester just having declared a Business Administration major in order to transfer to a UC or Cal State University for a Bachelor's degree. I'm taking 5 courses for sure, but am pondering whether to take 6. Choosing from the IGETC transfer requirements and major specific requirements for some UCs and Cal States, I've already decided to take: Intro to Business, American History, Stats, Macroeconomics, and English 1B. I'm wondering if I should take CIS 1 (Computer Information Systems) in addition to these, and wanted to ask if anyone had taken that course before. If anyone has, how was the workload? Do you think it's too much to take with all the other 5 classes? Thank you very much, any information will be greatly appreciated!

  1. i go to chaffey college, my second year..english 1b has alot of critical thinking, as in meaning the essays, when given a topic, most of the topics and stuff u will learn in english 1b is about the court system, u will be reading alot of court stories and decisions and might have to write essays on whether or not u think this or that..i was on the waitlist for that class and when the instrutor told us about the essays in the begining of the semester it was all about that and i did get into another english class and had to drop because it was too much, because of other things going on in my life...so i had to drop, my friend is taking CIS 1 and she says u have to pay atttention alot and that it does become hard if you dont follow along with the class and the book is over 1 hundred and something dollars, dont know exactly but if u can handle 5 classes go ahead, but to be honest it is hard! Stats i heard is hard....i dont know about business and american history..theres this website u can go on its called ratemyprofessors and u can check out whether or not the professors u chosen are hard and the students will tell u the workload and how they grade and if they are hard, anyways hoped i helped..good luck....
  2. Hi :D I took several CIS classes including CIS-1. It isn't a difficult class....very easy. You basically do assignment from the book such as creating spread sheets and microsoft access database documents....the tests cover just the basics such as what are different types of storage devices, networks, hardware...etc. It's not hard, really :D
