What graduate/doctoral program should I study?
I am interested in a psychology career. I thought I wanted to do counseling until I discovered psychometrics. Now I am confused as to which program I should pursue for graduate and doctoral studies. I cannot do both because of time/financial constraints. Both have positive and negative sides. What factors would you consider in making such a decision? Thanks.

- i would recomend that you start college and start studying your field of interest before you make any decisions. after 4 years of college it will be much more clear what you should do.. It also depends a lot on which university you want to get your degree from
- I would consider things like how likely you are to get a job in the field, how much that job would interest you, and how well the job pays. I read an article recently that talked about a recent boom in demand for specialists in psychometrics. It sounds pretty cool to me, but I imagine you would need to know a lot of statistics for it. If you're up to doing the math, this may not be a bad way to go. I believe the pay is good as well. I think there's a glut of people who want to be counselors. Being a counselor sounds like a good job, though I don't know the chances of landing a job like that nor the pay. It sounds like you wouldn't have to know much about math or statistics for this and the main criterion would be your people skills.
