in grade 9 what do you learn in academic mathematics?

im going to grade 9 wanting to take academic for math? do they teach you how to make theories? do u guys have to do long division and long multiplication im just mentioning my weak spots.

1. In 9th grade you start learning Algebraic equations and such. You can take that or Geometry if you took Algebra in middle school. Or possibly even Algebra II. Academic over Pre-AP or AP just means less work (homework & classwork), along with going at a slower pace.
2. The average 9th grader learns Algebra 1. Long multiplication and long division was mastered in the 5th grade for the average student. Some 9th graders are even multiplying and dividing algebraic expressions!
