Colorado Technical University

Are "career colleges" such as Rasmussen, Argosy, Brown, Herzing, Anthem seen in the same light as a top U?

Has anyone been sucessful outside of graduating at one of these colleges? They seem like a great deal, with a 12 month two year degree or what not, but when I visit them, they are hole's in the wall in an old storage unit and the informational meeting involves high pressure sales techniques to get you interested. So I'm very skeptical. Please help!

  1. I am skeptical of them as well. I talked to Westwood College and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh on the phone and they were trying VERY HARD to get me to enroll and didn't want to give me even a CHANCE to think about this HUGE decision. They aren't even up front about how expensive it is! I had to ask! It's been awhile so I don't remember exactly but I think the Art Institute was going to be like $60,000 and Westwood was going to be around $90,000 but I could be off. Nonetheless, $60,000+ is a big decision not to be made in a few seconds! How do I even know if, after I bought this 60 grand+ degree, it would even be taken seriously by employers? You know what I think? I think they're just money hungry crooks! And the bad reviews I find ALL OVER THE INTERNET make me leery too.
