I am a senior studying business administration and marketing. I am thinking of switching fields to biology.?

I excelled in biology, chemistry, and physics in high school. I also did well in statistics in college. I have become interested in the optometry field and wondered if any one had any suggestions for me? I know that I need to take some courses that are required to apply to optometry programs. I would prefer not to take undergraduate classes once again and maybe obtain these courses at a masters level; however, I am not aware if this could be done. Please help me to clarify my options. Also could I save time and not get a full degree in biology and just take the required courses to apply for the program? I am looking at schools in FL. Thank you in advance. ---- -- Bobby said that I could make more money business, to an extend this may be true; However, it is hard to find a business and or marketing job in this economy. Specializing is key with being general. That is why I did business administration and marketing. ----- -- Dear Jadelee, I currently go to NSU and I will be graduating with two bachelors' degrees in business adminstration and marketing. Do you think that it will make me more competitive with two business undergraduate degrees? Please disregard the graduate major comment, it is not possible. I appreciate your help :)

  1. It is much easier to make money in marketing and business than biology, and this way you don't need to spend money on graduate school.
  2. The only Optometry school in Florida is Nova Southeastern University. The last time I checked you can just take the required courses that they have listed on their website. It will cover about the same material that you will need for the Assessment test called the OAT (hint: no calculators are allowed). In order to be more competitive you will need to graduate with a bachelor degree either in business or Biology. When I was looking at Nova, they didn't specify what degree was allowed. Don't know if that has changed. Don't know what you meant by taking courses at the master's level.
