Do any public schools offer online Doctoral Programs?

I know for-profit scam schools offer online graduate programs. But I wanted to know if any public schools offer them, too. I live in New York, and SUNY has online Master's Degrees, and CUNY has online Bachelor's Degrees.

1. It's doubtful. A PhD requires years of work in close consultation with an adviser, including original research which often involves labs or field work. It usually cannot be done online, and few employers would consider accepting an online PhD.
2. The real question is whether any employer will take an online PhD degree seriously. You might check the U. of Maryland's University College program, which is used by a lot of military personnel serving overseas.
