What business major to specialize for?
So I am switching from Computer Science to a Business Major because I just can't remember all the computer stuff and having a hard time. I like it as a hobby, but doing IT support which I am doing part time now is not my type of job. So, I took a small business class and economics in HS and I really liked them so I figured trying out business would be a good option. I am taking a sales course and microeconomics course next semester with some other electives to finish my computer associates then I am going to a 4 yr. Now I was wondering what the best business major would be. I know of Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, and Accounting. I heard accounting is tough and really boring from friends, so I have been looking into Marketing or Finance. I am trying to find a degree that will be easy to find jobs with and doesn't involve traveling much. I don't want to have to move to a big city just to have a job. Can anyone explain a little about each major and give some suggestions?

- I am going to be a business major this year, so I can help you out. Finance: You arent a people person. You like numbers, you like thinking, you like being alone, you like order and perfection. Economics: You like the theoretical. You enjoy thinking about things that don't necessarily affect anyone. You like lofty ideas. You like abstract things. etc etc etc. Its not concrete at all. Business ad: You like telling people what to do. You are a good boss. You understand the roles of people and you understand youre role is to make sure everyone does their own role. Not too sure about the rest of the job..... Marketing (My major): You like to have fun! You understand people, or you have a sense of humor. You have to be good at understanding what people want to hear, and then saying it. You have to be good at sales in order to be good at marketing. You generally have to be good at writing. Finance: I really have no idea. Sounds boring to me. But all of the areas are very unique and it shouldnt really be hard once you realize what you are cut out for (if anything in business at all). Most business stuff, however, isnt very people oriented. Its mostly about the numbers and the facts. Thats why I enjoy sticking with... 1) Starting businesses, where you work one on one with the customer from the beginning. 2) Sales. Where you work with people. 3) Marketing. Where you understand human nature and cater to it. Everything else is relatively dry, IMO. But do what you like to do.
