Times for division 1 men's college swimming?
I'm a sophomore guy on my high school swim team and I am considering swimming in college. What times(yards or meters) should i aim for to be considered by a division 1 college? Not any of the really good ones like Stanford, Texas or Auburn, but a decent school (with good academics).

- You missed the Champ for this year ... Cal Berkeley! Wanting to swim at the D1 level is a lofty goal. The swimmers are CRAZY FAST! One of the questions you should ask yourself is whether being on a D1 team and potentially not swimming in meets is worth it to you as compared to a D2 school where you might go to the NCAA National Championships. No one can tell you what to do. However, I'm going to provide you with a link where you can look at the times from both divisions (D3 schools do not offer scholarships). For NCAA times from this last season, start by clicking on the following: http://www.usaswimming.org/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabId=1402&Alias=Rainbow&Lang=en Look to the left side and you'll see NCAA Information Click on NCAA Information and choose the division you want 1,2, or 3) http://www.usaswimming.org/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabId=1402&Alias=Rainbow&Lang=en Choose EVENT RANK Date range should be 10-11 Choose the event Choose gender Cut/Standard, use the drop down menu and choose NS For "Times To Include" ... chose BEST TIME ONLY Then ... Maximum # of results is your choice. The # you choose is up to you (and 7000) Determine if you can make it in D1 ... or should you swim in D2?
