Do masters degrees always have a bachelor counter part?

I know you can get a masters in nursing, but before that you usually get your bachelor's in nursing first. however i've seen many schools offer a master's in international affairs, but very few offer a bachelor's in international affairs. so does that mean you can get a bachelor's degree in something else and then get a master's degree in international affairs?

  1. yes for example, when applying to med school (in canada at least) you can have a bachelor degree in biology, chemistry, physics, nursing, engineering and even music, and still apply.. there's no specific bachelor degree for an international affairs masters, you can do a bachelors degree in international development, history, political science or anything like that :) it doesn't have to be only international affairs
  2. You can get a bachelors in one thing and a masters in something totally different.
