I have a question about majoring in Biology and minoring in Business Administration?

I am about to start community college and I want to transfer to a University after that to study Biological Science. I'm taking the required courses I need to transfer. However, I also want to minor in Business Administration when I enter my undergraduate program. Do I need to complete Business Administration courses in my Community College before I transfer along with my Biology required courses? What do I need to do? Thanks.

  1. Typically it's at least 18 credits (6 3-hour classes) to minor in a subject, and some school/fields require 30 or more. Do you think you'll be able take all of those classes in your last two years, while you are also fulfilling your upper-level major requirements? It seems doubtful to me. None of your biology requirements, except perhaps something like calculus, will count towards your minor. People who major in biology who want to take a minor typically go for something compatible like chemistry, in which a lot of the requirements for the major and minor are the same (as biology's). If you are really serious in minoring in business administration, I suggest you get an early start. Contact the University and find out what are the exact classes you need to take, and get started on the entry-level ones.
