2. It depends on what state you are interested in and if you are interested in division II or III. One of the principal differences is that division III schools do not offer athletic scholarships, but many are more recognized for the faculty they have. The University of Texas at Dallas is a great academic institution and competitive in soccer as well. There are a number of schools like this, you just need to narrow your search be some criteria such as location and field of study you are interested in and then look at any that interest you. If you already know what you want to study, look for books or other literature that have been published by some of the faculty; you can read or at least browse and get some idea of what they regard as important.
