How to become a middle/high school teacher?
How do you become a middle/high school teacher? I have a desire to teach either middle or high school level. I have a BBA degree [Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing]. What are the steps I need to take to become a teacher? I heard people say I have to get certified, how does that work? Are there additional courses I have to take at a college? How long is the process? Are there any full-time teachers out there that can give an advice?

- To be a school teacher you need to pass graduation in the related stream of which you want to be a teacher, then B.Ed is the preference. This is enough to be a high/middle school teacher.
- Well it depends on the state, all are different. Where I am (IA), you would have to apply for a Secondary education program and would then have to major in a subject area(math, science, etc.) If you already have a degree in business you could teach business classes. All you would have to do is take any extra needed classes to meet the requirements for that endorsement. When all classes and in class room hours are completed you would have to complete student teaching. the number of weeks varies depending on your focus areas(mine was 18 weeks). *All states are different so you would have to look into the requirements for your state.
