Question about bookkeeping as a job and what qualifications are needed.?

I went to college several years ago. I did a business administration diploma specializing in marketing. But now I'm tired of being a salesman, and would like to try bookkeeping. I understand accounting because I took two years of college courses. But I didn't take the upper year courses. My question is what computer programs should I learn to be qualified to work as a bookkeeper?

  1. You definitely need to be familiar with MS Excel. You should also try MS Access (database), and MS Money.
  2. Generally, small business owners like Quickbooks. I would suggest you take some courses on it.
