Would you hire someone with low vision?

Would you hire me even though I have low vision? I have a question out there for any one who doesn't manage somewhere like a grocery store, or retail. I am 20 years old and a college sophomore, but I have low vision. (20/80). I am legally able to drive in my state, but I only l ike to drive during the day, and to places I know well around town. Anyway, I am an accounting major at Salisbury University and I am worried that when I go out into the real world to start my career people will be less likely to hire me because of my low vision. I know it is technically illegal to so, but it would mean that I would not be able to drive to meetings in far away places. I generally do not think it would impact my quality of work. I have good grades, and am part of a very good business program at my university. I have never had a hard time finding a part time job perse, but am really concerned about my career. So I am asking yout o be honest. Would you hesitate to hire me because of this disability, or would you be more concerned with other aspects of my resume. I have congenital motor nystagmus, my low vision is not by any means correctable to more than 20/70 I would be looking for a job as an accountant, for either corporation, a business, or somewhere like a board of education..etc.

  1. first off if you are able to drive then you have normal corrected vision, If you are going to be using your eyes looking at a computer screen for 8-10 hours a day it will be a terrible strain on your condition, secondly it is not illegal to not hire you, employers may be able to make "reasonable accommodations" but are not obligated to do so
