December 3, 2008 Detroit Windsor Tunnel LLC 100 East Jefferson Detroit, Michigan 48226 Dear Mr, Neal Belitsky Please consider my application for the position of Customs Officer that is now on advertisement with the Canada border services. The position is an outstanding match with my education and career interests. In addition, with Customs Administration and brokerage logistics courses at St. Clair College in Windsor Ontario, I have training on roles and responsibilities of Canadian Border Services including a vast of information on importing, exporting, publications and forms and safety and security and much more. December 3, 2008 Detroit Windsor Tunnel LLC 100 East Jefferson Detroit, Michigan 48226 Mr. Neal Belitsky, Please consider my application for the position of Customs Officer that is now on advertisement with the Canada Border Services. This position is an outstanding match with my education and career interests. Through the Police Foundation program at Trios College in Windsor, Ontario, I have experience and knowledge with Microsoft Office Applications, The Canadian Justice System, Traffic Management, Social Sciences, Community Policing, Interpersonal Communication and Police Practice and Theory. In addition, I also am familiar with Customs Administration and Brokerage Logistics courses at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario. I have knowledge pertaining to the roles and responsibilities of the Canadian Border Services, which includes importation, exportation, publications and forms, and safety and security. I am able to communicate in four different languages: English, Persian, Turkish and Azeri. This is an advantage for me as I am better equiped to communicate with a larger number of individuals. I have (how many years?)volunteering experiences in the Windsor Fire & Rescue Services, Windsor Hotel Dieu Hospital and Windsor Police. I have also worked as an office secretary and have (how many years?)experience dealing with the public. Please consider my request for an interview to discuss my qualifications further. I feel that I would be a positive assest to your organization. I may be contacted at the aforementioned information. I look forward to meeting and discussing my future career prospects with you. Yours truly, Notes for you: may try to not write down the exact course names. Maybe try telling them about certain important things that you learned. :do not contact them. If they are interested they will contact you. For Canadian government jobs they do not want you calling them. First the computer screens out people based on their resumes and cover letter, so be sure to put all the experience and essential qualifications from the posting in these, including that you are a Canadian citizen, driver's licence holder and have computer experience. If you don't they will screen you right there. : maybe put in some of the years of experience that you have : use spell check : put all your contact info at the top of the cover letter under theirs, including your full name, address, phone numbers and email : if you've had any physical jobs or hobbies, that may help as well If you have any ?s email me. Sorry that I keep editing this, but I'm fairly anal about letters. Good luck
