Has anyone made a complete career change in middleage what were your experiences positive/negative?

I have been in my current career for 22 years and am not happy there are no challenges or room to advance. I would have to spend a few months training for a new career and have to rely on savings for a while, I guess giving up a regular pay check for the unknow scares me most as I have always been financially independant.

  1. I went from being a secretary to a nurse in my 40's. Now I'm in my 50's and looking into law. Pick a career that will pay well.
  2. I went from 23 years of IT and a secure position earning $65,000 a year to creating a skin care product, starting a company to develop and distribute it, then launching a debit card company, and now I have a conglomerate with 9 subsidiaries in all kinds of industries. Just have total faith in yourself and remember, failure only happens if you stop trying.
