Help! What kind of career should I train for?

I am a 40 year old mom with three children. I never graduated college. I am interested in writing, animals and don't mind office work. I can type 80 words a minute and love to surf around the net. I have been researching many different career opportunities on the bls.gov but am still not sure which field to go into. All I know is that I need to make at least 40K a year and I don't have a year's time to devote to school. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

1. How about opening your own daycare????? I admire women (and you men too) that can provide such a needed service! You won't get rich but you'll get vacations and be your own boss! My friend does really well who has her own daycare

You don't say if you're a single mom or how old the kids are or what work experience you have but if you have the kind of support system that will allow this, find a job--any job such as retail maybe in a pet supply store for the time being and then go to school in the evenings after taking an aptitude test to find out what you are really really good at. A daycare center isn't a bad idea depending on what state you are in and their regulations for opening one. A friend of mine opened one in Michigan and had to totally redo the sink because it was a couple inches too low! Crazy., Hope this answer helps and good luck!
