How to advance in MLB 07 Road to the Show Career mode?

Hi all, I have been playing MLB 07 Road to the Show in career mode for days now and cant get past being a backup MLBer for a month at a time before being sent down. I seem to be using all of my stats correctly as everything is trained within 30 days but I just can't seem to really get going. I'm playing as a 3rd baseman. Any suggestions? Thanks!

1. you can ask the coach for more playing-time and maybe he will send you down to AA and you will be a starter or you could askt to be traded if you have that option in your contract.
